Nov 13 10:24:45 good morning Nov 13 10:34:46 summatusmentis: pong Nov 13 10:49:37 pong Nov 13 10:50:21 hi there Nov 13 11:05:22 heya Nov 13 15:26:21 hi Nov 13 16:19:54 hrw: Hi ! I now found out, why orinoco drivers are loaded, when they are available. It is because the kernel does it, and the orinoco drivers are NOT affected by the autoloader of the kernel. So, there is no other way, to inhibit orinoco drivers to load, than to deinstall them. Orinoco drivers are runninmg fine, when you need no WPA, but hostap drivers should be poreferred, whenever available. Nov 13 16:21:39 orinoco and hostap are autoloaded because you inserted card which both supports Nov 13 16:21:45 hrw: This is just for your info, but maybe, you know it already. BTW: Did I tell you my card is 0xd501 or 0xd601 ? I suppose, both are hostap, are they ? Nov 13 16:22:01 d601, 0005 is yours Nov 13 16:22:16 Yes, that's right. Nov 13 16:22:36 I know, orinoco supports hostap, too, but no WPA. Nov 13 16:22:50 I googled and read a lot. Nov 13 16:22:52 no Nov 13 16:23:04 orinoco supports *prism2* cards Nov 13 16:23:04 No ??? Nov 13 16:23:09 Yes. Nov 13 16:23:10 hostap supports *prism2* cards Nov 13 16:23:15 Yes. Nov 13 16:23:24 you told 'orinoco supports hostap' Nov 13 16:23:29 Yes. Nov 13 16:23:48 instead of 'orinoco supports cards supported by hostap' Nov 13 16:24:05 Yes. You are right, it was that, what I meant. Nov 13 16:24:19 english is not my native Nov 13 16:24:29 * hrw -> gym Nov 13 16:24:31 bye Nov 13 16:24:33 And mine not, as well Nov 13 16:24:36 bye Nov 13 16:25:01 I do not speak german ;) Nov 13 16:25:44 No problem. I just wanted to give you the info, so you will not look at buigs. There are no bugs IMO. Nov 13 16:25:55 bye hrw|gone Nov 13 16:39:40 hi dcordes Nov 13 16:42:04 hey Nov 13 16:44:47 I was not here yesterday. Could you help daredings ? Nov 13 16:45:08 You know, the guy without wifi.... Nov 13 16:45:40 ah wait. daresbalat? Nov 13 16:45:58 didn't he manage with CoreDump's help to get his usb0 running? Nov 13 16:46:10 No, he didn`t. Nov 13 16:46:55 He wanted to be here yesterday, but I was offline. I thought, you have been here, so I ask. Nov 13 16:47:01 I would _really_ like to know why hostap_cs support was ripped off the kernel in angstrom images! Nov 13 16:47:10 hrw|gone, could you help me with this question? Nov 13 16:47:33 dcordes: It isn`t ! Nov 13 16:47:50 why do we have to install the modules then in order to get prism cf working?? Nov 13 16:48:03 Iirc in former images it worked Nov 13 16:48:04 Just deinstall orinoco and of you go. Nov 13 16:49:17 I would like to try but I'm not going to reflash w/o good reasons right now Nov 13 16:49:53 I spent some time in setting up my current flash Nov 13 16:50:31 Just deinstall it with ipkg --force-depends --recursive remove '*orinoco*' Nov 13 16:51:06 why didn't you tell this daresbalat guy? Nov 13 16:51:20 if that's all.. Nov 13 16:53:46 This was not the problem he had. Nov 13 16:54:39 He got the pcmcia-modules not loaded (and installed), not the hostap-modules. Nov 13 16:55:15 Else he did not report his trouble correctly. Nov 13 16:58:00 vanguard, ah yea you right. I got pcmcia and hostap confused Nov 13 16:58:13 So why did they drop pcmcia support in angstrom kernels? Nov 13 16:58:35 THIS I can NOT explain. :) Nov 13 16:58:37 I could believe 2.6.23 was too big and they had to drop space Nov 13 16:59:03 Then ist would be easier, to drop some application. Nov 13 16:59:15 to make sure all machines keep supported Nov 13 17:02:26 Do not know. Might be some reason......... Nov 13 17:22:18 dcordes: that should have been fixed a few weeks ago, 2 or 3 Nov 13 17:23:11 Zero_Chaos, can't be. I made a fresh spitz image for the guy who had the problem Nov 13 17:23:53 that was saturday I think Nov 13 17:24:54 oh, only tested akita. Nov 13 17:24:57 that may be the issue Nov 13 17:26:40 the image I run (also had the no-pcmcia-support-issue with it) is from 2007-11-03 Nov 13 17:28:36 odd Nov 13 17:29:03 yep Nov 13 17:44:15 tosa candy: http://www.angstrom-distribution.org/unstable/images/tosa/20071113/ Nov 13 17:45:03 I need to update images for OSK .... Nov 13 17:45:49 why wouldn't they? Nov 13 17:46:04 that is what I hope :) Nov 13 17:46:21 * Crofton also needs to figure out where his key is ... Nov 13 20:40:03 I forgot to turn on internet forwarding, that's my bad Nov 13 20:40:34 pH5: with my router, i can't use dhcp, for some strange reason (on linux only) Nov 13 20:53:23 mimecar, sorry no idea about translations. take a look at the locale recipes for your product if any Nov 13 20:53:54 ok Nov 13 20:54:02 i fixed the "problem" Nov 13 20:55:01 mimecar, what was wrong? Nov 13 21:04:34 where does that leave Angstrom? Nov 13 21:04:50 summatusmentis: well since I bought a gp2x I used zaurus less anyway, but I work for openmoko so that just meant even less time Nov 13 21:05:06 summatusmentis: I still work on Angstrom, just dont have time to mentor Zaurus machines Nov 13 21:05:24 mm... gp2x is... the gaming machine right? Nov 13 21:05:40 summatusmentis: gaming and hardware mpeg4 Nov 13 21:05:57 I'm just kinda anxious as to the future of the zaurus, specifically, I feel like Angstrom and openmoko are melding anywya Nov 13 21:05:59 anyway* Nov 13 21:06:31 well stanislav (probably wrong spelling) sounds eager to take over as C3X00 maintainer Nov 13 21:07:11 I'd be willing to help w/ 5500, but I likely lack the coding experience Nov 13 21:07:21 * XorA still has a 5500 :-) Nov 13 21:07:26 I've got a 5500 and 3200, that's it Nov 13 21:07:53 just sold my C860, so Ive got a 5500 and 3200 Nov 13 21:08:29 mm, I need to figure out the best way to get OE setup on my macbook, and then get back integrated into the community Nov 13 21:08:38 adjusting everything to college life is weird Nov 13 21:09:00 heh heh, anyway I is off again Nov 13 21:09:22 ok, I'll try and keep updated as to the status of the Z in angstrom Nov 13 21:31:59 re Nov 13 21:45:42 koen|away: have you free time now? People keep coming and complaining about their prism hardware not working Nov 13 23:07:49 were there any issues with image size? Nov 13 23:08:28 c7x0 and akita got pcmcia into modules Nov 13 23:08:51 and those modules should be fetched automatically when they do ipkg update;ipkg upgrade Nov 13 23:19:21 hrw, what about the other zauri?
