Sep 15 18:23:36 hi Sep 15 18:42:20 hi, I'm using angstrom stable and I am trying to figure out how to specify which kernel modules should be loaded at startup. /etc/modules and /etc/modules.conf both have the same text Sep 15 18:42:31 saying that these files are autogenerated and one should look at etc/modutils (which is not there) Sep 15 18:42:40 any hints? or would the ususal modprobe.conf do the trick? Sep 15 18:42:54 i don't know Jin^eLD Sep 15 18:43:50 well, does any of you have an /etc/modutils directory? Sep 15 18:43:55 if yes - what do you have in there? :> Sep 15 18:44:18 my zaurus can't boot up actually :P Sep 15 18:44:49 sux2bu Sep 15 18:46:54 1730new revisions.. Sep 15 18:47:02 i must update oe database ... Sep 15 18:47:50 I think I figured it out... Sep 15 18:47:53 thx anyway Sep 15 18:48:08 why don't you ask on the angstrom mailing list ? Sep 15 18:48:55 me? well, seemed a too simple question :) Sep 15 18:49:04 but I finally found something useful in google, so it's ok Sep 15 18:49:51 ok Sep 15 18:50:00 Jin^eLD: what was it? Sep 15 18:50:10 what ? Sep 15 18:50:30 Tomoe: you need to create an /etc/modutils directory Sep 15 18:50:36 there you can put textfiles which just list the modules you want Sep 15 18:50:39 after that run update-modules Sep 15 18:50:44 and it will write /etc/modutils Sep 15 18:50:55 no idea why it is done this way,but well, seems to work Sep 15 18:51:47 that's how it usually works with the Z Sep 15 18:51:48 =D Sep 15 18:52:54 I wonder what /etc/modules.conf is good for, since the changes that are written by update-modules end up in /etc/modules Sep 15 18:52:55 mimecar: do you know if Angstrom supports japanese input? Sep 15 18:54:07 if you run unicode, it should Sep 15 18:54:22 but i can't say you "it works at 100" Sep 15 18:54:29 i haven't checket it Sep 15 18:54:29 uh, that's for the display of jap chars Sep 15 18:54:34 I'm talking about IME Sep 15 18:54:40 ime? Sep 16 16:12:52 Gnutoo: On my laptop here, my ~/.bash_profile contains: Sep 16 16:12:55 eval `keychain --eval id_rsa id_dsa` Sep 16 16:13:24 syb, so ~/.bash_profile works on angstrom? Sep 16 16:14:36 Gnutoo, i'll try to use ~/.bash_profile...thanks Sep 16 16:14:47 oops s/GNUtoo/syb/ Sep 16 16:14:53 ...since Keychain is a /bin/sh script, it should work? Sep 16 16:15:07 it works with --eval... Sep 16 16:15:43 and as there was no install command i had to copy and chmod it Sep 16 16:15:48 Gnutoo: Lookingat my install of recent-ish Angstrom on my H5550 now... i'll see what shell is running. Sep 16 16:16:02 ok thanks a lot Sep 16 16:22:55 /etc/skel/ contains a ".bashrc" and a ".profile" Sep 16 16:24:18 thanks a lot!!! Sep 16 16:27:08 Gnutoo: I can't advise you on which file to put the keychain --eval command because I don't remember which file gets sourced by Login V.S. Non-Login Shells. So depending upon your use of Console v.s. GUI, you may get annoyed by Keychain trying to run and prompt you for SSH Key Passphrases. Sep 16 16:27:37 syb, ok at least i would have tried Sep 16 16:28:12 Gnutoo: Please try using Keychain then report back here with what you achieved... for my benifit and The Record in the logs that some of us occasionally(? *grin*) search before asking questions. Sep 16 16:28:25 ok thanks Sep 16 17:13:02 * syb is away: Gone away for now. Sep 16 18:13:54 it was the terminal emulator...with vte it works...
