**** BEGIN LOGGING AT Fri Oct 10 03:00:06 2008 Oct 10 06:48:02 I can't find where to send patches to a package - so how do I do it? Oct 10 06:48:47 the standard practice is to submit them to bugs.openembedded.org I believe Oct 10 06:48:54 ok Oct 10 07:38:08 w00! so nice to have my collie back on the internet Oct 10 09:23:14 Hello everybody. I have downloaded an Angstrom build for HTC Blueangel and I have find out that "file" utility says this on binaries: "ELF 32-bit LSB executable, ARM, version 1 (SYSV), dynamically linked (uses shared libs), for GNU/Linux 2.6.14, stripped". Does it mean that these binaries are runnable only on kernel >=2.6.14? If so, how can I compile source to be runnable on older kernels as well? Oct 10 11:24:46 johnx: it succeeded (sort of) - I get feeds for the packages that are built for the image, but if I build additional packages those are not added to those feeds Oct 10 11:47:45 so then is the question, how does one update a feed, when a package is built? Oct 10 13:39:13 Mohjive, I've been rebuilding the image to update the feed... Oct 10 13:39:27 doesn't take that long either, just bitbake x11-image in my case Oct 10 13:39:38 I'm sure the answer is somewhere in the image build process Oct 10 13:46:40 "use the source" Oct 10 13:46:42 :) Oct 10 13:47:31 I keep looking, I want to add custom packages to the feed without having to update the image config each time (to add the package to the image) Oct 10 13:49:01 you don't need to add it to the image AFAIK, just rerun the image build for some reason Oct 10 13:49:49 ok, 1) build package 2) run build image 3) updated feed exists? Oct 10 13:50:01 as far as I can tell, yes Oct 10 13:50:22 bitbake cbrpager && bitbake x11-image Oct 10 13:50:31 then opkg update && opkg install cbrpager seems to work Oct 10 13:50:37 (for example) Oct 10 13:50:38 well, a workaround at least Oct 10 13:50:50 thanks :) Oct 10 13:50:51 and a clue Oct 10 13:51:03 there was a bitbake package-index before, but it went away I guess? Oct 10 13:51:41 oh, nm, it's still there Oct 10 13:51:43 wonder if it works Oct 10 13:51:43 well, yes, but I already could have guessed that there was a clue in the image building process Oct 10 13:51:49 I *swear* it was gone for a bit Oct 10 13:58:27 maybe reappeared when they switched to git? Oct 10 13:58:50 no clue. or maybe I tried it and it didn't work with opkg? Oct 10 13:59:04 sorry, not many firm answers from me tonight :) Oct 10 13:59:23 hehe Oct 10 15:46:39 hi Oct 10 17:39:13 hi zap Oct 10 20:16:29 hi an Oct 10 20:16:35 hi ant__ :P Oct 10 20:17:00 hello **** ENDING LOGGING AT Sat Oct 11 02:59:57 2008
