**** BEGIN LOGGING AT Wed Feb 17 02:59:58 2010 Feb 17 06:55:15 Ello Angstrom people, anyone trying the hawkboard? Feb 17 08:43:16 auzieman: I am sure a few people have tried the hawkboard Feb 17 09:10:32 XorA: so do i just dd the .img file from narcissus to my SD card? Feb 17 09:11:23 sorry if thats a stupid question, its just that a lot of the documentation is useful *after* angstrom is running... Feb 17 09:37:51 Question: For tosa (or one of the cxxx series), what package provides the updater.sh script? Feb 17 09:38:08 I've mostly got tosa built, but I can't seem to find that. Feb 17 10:04:22 Found it, and filed bug on it: zaurus-updater Feb 17 10:09:24 I'm assuming that bugs.openembedded.org is the bugzilla to use. <_< Feb 17 13:58:33 hello there, I got a problem bitbaking gconf (within beagleboard-demo-image) there is a missing dependency during do_configure. polkit-dbus seems to be needed, but nothing seems to provides it. Any ideas? Feb 17 13:59:53 ESI: on dev or stable, what revision? Feb 17 14:00:11 dev, just updated a few minutes ago Feb 17 14:03:15 done a bitbake -cclean polkit && bitbake polkit Feb 17 14:03:17 ? Feb 17 14:04:58 not yet, but I just started it: ERROR: Nothing PROVIDES 'polkit' Feb 17 14:06:29 ESI: policykit rather, what package failed in do_configure (your being given the package name in lib terms not the OE recipe). Feb 17 14:07:52 now trying bitbake policykit... Feb 17 14:10:59 done, now trying bitbake beagleboard-demo-image again... Feb 17 14:17:40 DJWillis: I tried, but gconf is failing again with same message: No package 'polkit-dbus' found in do_configure Feb 17 14:18:42 ESI: so bitbake -cclean gconf now you know what package failed and bitbake gconf on it's own. Feb 17 14:22:01 DJWillis: Yes, gconf fails o it's own... Feb 17 14:25:27 ESI: trying a clean and rebuild on my setup Feb 17 14:28:46 DJWillis: I searched the workdirectory of policykit, and did not find a hint of polkit-dbus, for what should I look? Feb 17 14:29:44 bitbake -cclean policykit policykit-gnome gconf && bitbake gconf << That fails on this setup ;-) - same error, looks like def. fallout from Koen's policykit work today. Feb 17 14:31:44 Looking now. Feb 17 14:49:57 ESI: after some reading newer policykits dropped polkit-dbus in favour of other stuff, so gconf needs a bump, talking to Koen about that but it should get sorting soon. Feb 17 14:51:38 ESI: try a pull now and the above commands again. Feb 17 14:58:28 DJWillis: bitbaking gconf now... Feb 17 15:01:28 DJWillis: gconf bitbaked successfully, thank you for your help Feb 17 15:40:25 Aiiie Feb 17 15:41:08 I switched over to the dev release, and now bitbake is throwing a hissy fit: NameError: global name 'os' is not defined Feb 17 15:58:36 Old bitbake version, updating that now. Feb 17 17:27:47 Hello there, I am trying to build beagleboard-demo-image (dev-branch), but it fails with gimp. The error message is about not recognizing the png-files. I looked it up in web, in there it is often related to librsvg. I can bitbake librsvg, but not librsvg-native, it comes with thatk/atk.h: No such file or directory. Is librsvg-native needed? Any ideas? Feb 17 21:19:59 anyone using a hawkboard? Feb 17 21:30:33 anyone using a hawkboard? ?? Feb 17 21:59:02 Anyone here using the Hawkboard, beagle board? cutting board :) Feb 17 21:59:10 is this thing on? Feb 17 21:59:12 :) Feb 17 22:05:19 auzieman: ever look up at logs ;-), loads of people using the Beagle, Hawk, Pandora, TouchBook, Zoom, Zoom2, OMAP3EVM, Overo and plenty of other OMAP3 boards. What's up, a question is better then a constant statement like a stuck record. Feb 17 22:36:14 anyone know why narcissus is failing on every package Feb 17 22:36:35 im trying to build for the beagleboard btw Feb 17 22:37:30 later Feb 17 22:55:30 TheDude7053: No idea, it was doing that on tosa last night. Feb 17 23:03:00 james_l: have you had better luck with dev branch? Feb 17 23:03:09 So far yes Feb 17 23:03:11 It built Feb 17 23:03:19 I haven't yet flashed it Feb 17 23:04:20 (At least on the tosa side.) Feb 17 23:12:24 james_l: another list to subscribe... http://lists.linuxtogo.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/zaurus-devel Feb 17 23:12:44 good night Feb 17 23:12:51 Thanks Feb 17 23:22:42 would it be possible to put something like this on the angstrom homepage: http://elinux.org/BeagleBoardBeginners ? Feb 18 02:13:01 Anyone know the right type of "mount" command to mount a .img file produced by the Narcissus image builder? Feb 18 02:24:33 Depends on the filesystem, mount can usually autodetect the filesystem so try: mount -o loop image.img /mount/point Feb 18 02:25:42 james_I - it says I have to specify the filesystem type. Feb 18 02:28:57 What machine? Feb 18 02:31:06 I'm trying to do this under Ubuntu 9.10 Feb 18 02:45:17 No what machine is the image for? **** ENDING LOGGING AT Thu Feb 18 02:59:57 2010
