**** BEGIN LOGGING AT Wed Sep 15 02:59:57 2010 Sep 15 08:03:22 Hello, I have a noob question. I bitbaked an angstrom console-image for my mini2440 at home. The cross-toolchain was located in tmp/cross, like expected. At work I build an angstrom console-image for the babbage board. But there was no tmp/cross. Are there some settings to tell bitbake to put the cross-toolchain in tmp/cross? And where is the toolchain now located? The image build successfully, so there must be a toolchain somewhere. Sep 15 08:23:35 Hello all, i need some help to change my screen conf Sep 15 08:23:46 im running angstrom on a mini 2440 ( arm ) Sep 15 08:24:42 and the screen is a little "offbeat" Sep 15 08:24:54 ( im french, sry for my poor english ) Sep 15 08:25:24 can you give me some advise ? Sep 15 09:07:34 hello ? Sep 15 09:07:42 anybody there ? Sep 15 09:08:01 @z_slash: Wait I'll give you an answer Sep 15 09:08:24 Take some time to write down Sep 15 09:09:13 ok, cause, i found the jffs2 generator on the official web site, it seems interesting too, but, the jffs2 dont seems to work with my uImage ... Sep 15 09:13:48 In the bootargs you can set "mini2440=[0..9][t][b]" Where 0..9 are the display timings and t=touchscreen b=backlight. Here are some numbers for the screens that comes with the mini2440: 0 3,5" Display N35 + TS (alt), 1 7" Display + TS, 2 VGA-Board, 3 3,5" Display T35 + TS, 4 5,6" Display Innolux + TS Sep 15 09:16:11 Ok ! Sep 15 09:16:13 thx Sep 15 09:17:42 so, how can i modify the Display Sep 15 09:18:24 to force the 7" display Sep 15 09:23:28 gpw, do u ever use the online builder Sep 15 09:24:31 No I use OpenEmbedded. And I have installed u-boot into the NAND Sep 15 09:25:06 So I only can give you advise how to set up u-boot Sep 15 09:25:43 But the kernel parameter to pass for the display settings are the same under all bootloaders Sep 15 09:26:39 In your case: mini2440=1tb Sep 15 09:29:30 thx a lot Sep 15 09:29:58 If i try to use the online builder, witch uImage should i use ? Sep 15 09:35:33 I don't know what the online builder is. If you compile the kernel for the original bootloader located in NOR, you have to use a zImage. For u-boot uImage is required. Sep 15 09:36:16 http://www.angstrom-distribution.org/narcissus/ Sep 15 09:36:26 this is the jffs2 builder Sep 15 09:37:22 I will try to use that, but i need the proper way t generate the uImage Sep 15 09:37:34 have you any lead ? Sep 15 09:39:13 No, I don't know how to work with this tool. Sep 15 09:40:46 if i want to add a parameter to the kernel, i suppose, i have to use uboot, but what is the proper command ? Sep 15 09:43:40 That no one liner. You have to get familiar with u-boot. Have a look here http://bill.station51.net/index.php?post/2010/01/17/Using-U-Boot Sep 15 09:43:52 thx Sep 15 09:44:25 And here: http://www.electronics.diycinema.co.uk/embedded/mini2440/configuring-open-embedded-to-bake-angstrom-images-for-the-mini2440/ Sep 15 09:44:37 thx a lot Sep 15 10:00:55 hi all, anyone knows which recipes includes iwconfig?
