Mar 14 08:58:01 hi Mar 14 08:58:45 hi Mar 14 08:58:51 help me Mar 14 08:58:58 ? Mar 14 09:01:56 hi Mar 14 09:06:34 hello Mar 14 09:27:53 hi Mar 14 12:40:28 hey, hows everyone doing? Mar 14 12:41:32 i dunno if one of the website admins is on, but the web-servers clock appears to be a week fast, because the introduction is dated March 21st, 2011 Mar 14 13:09:47 hehe Mar 14 13:10:00 I think koen does that to make it appear in RSS or something Mar 14 13:10:29 why does the date have an effect on the RSS? Mar 14 13:10:42 future* Mar 14 13:10:50 make it appear as now and updated or something Mar 14 13:11:00 oic Mar 14 13:11:03 * XorA doesnt know, I think it was explained to me once but I forgot Mar 14 13:11:13 lol, nvm Mar 14 13:11:56 XorA: if that's true, well... *headdesk* Mar 14 13:12:53 bluelightning: careful there, that can hurt Mar 14 13:16:18 XorA: ah I understand now... that's one way to do it I suppose Mar 14 13:16:35 I guess that's the sort of thing you have to put up with when you abuse a blogging system as a cms Mar 14 13:17:01 * XorA cant even remeber which one we use Mar 14 15:17:24 Hey guys, I'd like to take a stab at putting angstrom on my hp ipaq 1945. From what I read, the 1940 and 1945 are the same, just sold through different channels. OpenEmbedded has an hp1940.conf, but Angstrom's image builder doesn't have an hp1940 option. I'm having trouble finding where I would inject the hp1940 conf file into an angstrom image. Can someone point me to a relevant faq page? Mar 14 15:19:30 pgrace_: as we have no developers working on it very unlikely we will make a working image Mar 14 15:21:04 OK, so it's not as simple as swapping the config file out then? Mar 14 15:22:20 no Mar 14 15:22:33 needs a kernel and some other config done in build Mar 14 15:22:51 seems no-one who can code any longer owns an Ipaq Mar 14 15:23:25 Ah, too bad. I've got a 1945 and also a toshiba e740 just collecting dust Mar 14 15:23:38 I think the e740 might have a quasi-active developer, a guy named spyro? Mar 14 15:43:28 I seem to recall someone doing some work on h1940 kernel stuff not that long ago, I can't recall where I saw it though Mar 14 15:45:54 * XorA sources some Angstrom shackles Mar 14 15:46:07 we need to start nailing these guys down :-D Mar 14 15:46:22 Do you guys know whether there's angstrom support for the tosh e740? Mar 14 15:46:31 not officially Mar 14 15:46:39 but again you might be able to build an image Mar 14 15:46:44 and it might even work Mar 14 15:47:02 OK, so, I download the crosscompile environment, run a build and pray for the best, essentially? Mar 14 15:47:10 yes Mar 14 15:47:29 OE developers moved unto non PDA devices mostly Mar 14 15:47:38 and the world moved on to Android Mar 14 15:48:13 XorA: well, most of them did... I still have an interest in keeping the PDA stuff alive Mar 14 15:48:33 although my abilities in the kernel area are very limited Mar 14 15:48:41 pgrace_: theres your answer, send bluelightning many many beer tokens Mar 14 15:48:48 hahaha Mar 14 15:48:58 Out of curiosity, would android even function on these things? Mar 14 15:49:04 I have a suspicion they just don't have enough processor. Mar 14 15:49:44 it would crawl, I used to run it on a HTC Kaiser Mar 14 15:49:53 that's what I had assumed, I have seen some attempts but judging by the lack of follow-through I suspect the results weren't particularly spectacular Mar 14 15:50:17 honestly, I was eyeing up running the 740 as a remote webserver in my garden. Don't laugh! Mar 14 15:50:41 pgrace_: stranger things have been done :) Mar 14 15:50:56 Since the 740 has a wifi chipset in it, it's a great choice for a remote installation Mar 14 15:51:53 I own a whole heap of old iPAQs still, plus a Zaurus Mar 14 15:52:17 h1940 isn't one of them AFAIR Mar 14 15:52:32 at the moment the thing these devices suffer from is kernel bitrot since most of the work was done outside mainline Mar 14 15:52:33 * XorA finally got shot of his last zaurus :-D Mar 14 16:06:09 shot? Mar 14 16:06:39 i need to sell my zaurus Mar 14 16:12:23 gave it away Mar 14 16:59:05 i'm hoping it's still worth something ;) Mar 14 17:01:01 Sketch: depends which model I guess Mar 14 17:16:07 3100 Mar 14 17:16:24 they were still worth a couple hundred on ebay last i looked (probably several months ago now...) Mar 14 17:21:20 Sketch: yes, you should get something for that model Mar 14 17:21:47 well, assuming you can find a buyer Mar 14 17:22:49 nod Mar 14 18:09:27 anyone here have any experience with getting an egalax touchscreen working on a beagleboard xm **** ENDING LOGGING AT Tue Mar 15 02:59:56 2011
