**** BEGIN LOGGING AT Thu Jan 24 02:59:58 2013 Jan 24 14:02:26 XorA|gone, hi Jan 24 14:02:34 not using angstrom has some huge drawbacks: Jan 24 14:02:46 -> cannot login trough serial console Jan 24 14:02:52 -> no opkg in my image Jan 24 14:03:00 that kind of stuff Jan 24 14:08:16 the oe-core images are bad for me Jan 24 17:03:58 GNUtoo-hplaptop: that is just bizarre Jan 24 17:04:25 * XorA hates distros with no serial Jan 24 17:07:17 ok Jan 24 17:08:06 time for meta-gnutoo :-D Jan 24 17:12:38 meta-sysvinit rather Jan 24 18:18:23 seriously, all the sysvinit stuff is in OE-Core already Jan 24 18:35:47 bluelightning, yes but it need tunning Jan 24 18:36:10 oe-core images are not that good Jan 24 18:36:46 some images do have package management enabled... all you need to do is ensure package-management is in IMAGE_FEATURES Jan 24 18:37:10 yes Jan 24 18:37:18 the sato image does Jan 24 18:37:23 so I built sato at the end Jan 24 18:38:38 re serial, is your machines's serial port in SERIAL_CONSOLES ? Jan 24 18:38:52 if it's something non-standard that is Jan 24 18:39:50 SERIAL_CONSOLE rather, SERIAL_CONSOLES is for extra ones I think Jan 24 20:08:00 I've built Angstrom for a Beaglebone using the setup-scripts.git method. Everything works, except no 'sox' or 'aplay'/'arecord' was included in that build. I tried cross-compiling sox, however I get an error: "/libtool: line 7459: cd: $SDK_PATH/$TARGET_SYS/usr/lib: No such file or directory". Is there somewhere where I can get a prebuilt version of those audio packages? Jan 24 20:33:22 tboy32: did you try the simple way? opkg install sox Jan 24 20:33:54 http://www.angstrom-distribution.org/repo/?pkgname=sox\ Jan 24 20:39:10 I get Unknown package 'sox'. Jan 24 20:40:02 I already tried lookking at the repo for sox, and the page shows "Sorry, package not found" Jan 24 20:40:45 I accidently tagged a \ on the end due to USA keyboard but the package is listed Jan 24 20:41:51 I should also mention I am using the console-only build. I did have sox on the stock img (including gnome), so I'm re-building a new image using systemd-gnome-image. I wanted to avoid waiting several more hours but I believe I should just be able to copy the required packages over when it's done. Jan 24 20:43:11 I just gave you a link to them Jan 24 20:44:05 Thanks. Not sure why I didn't find it before. Jan 24 20:44:37 PEBKAC :-D Jan 24 21:07:25 hello Jan 24 21:25:24 I've got another question: I ran "opkg install http://www.angstrom-distribution.org/feeds/next/ipk/eglibc/armv7a/base/sox-static_13.0.0-r2.9_armv7a.ipk" successfully, however I get a 'command not found' when I try to use it. Jan 25 01:54:58 * opkg_download_pkg: Package make is not available from any configured src. Jan 25 01:55:23 How do I go about finding that os building that?
