If you are going to do any more work on it I'd investigate whether you can find an application to exploit the compute options. The GSoC proved it can be done, I'm yet to find the case where it is a solution to a known problem given the complexity/overhead. If we can find a good problem it solves then the headless dongle limitation becomes a problem to solve.
