Jul 14 10:41:06 I installed the required module (even globally!) and if I run the script via node myscript.js everything is fine. Jul 14 10:42:04 but if I try to run it as a service, it fails. I chmodded everything, added NODE_PATH still it keeps failing trying to load the module Jul 14 10:42:21 ANY ideas? can't be the first to try this?!? Jul 14 10:53:34 Umm... I think Chrome crashed. I'll be back in a minute. Jul 14 10:57:38 So.... anybody running a node.js script as a service? Jul 14 11:15:38 Nick2012: yes, that's bone cloud9 and bone101 are started Jul 14 11:28:51 koen, I know. I looked how they are actually started and it does not seem to differ Jul 14 11:30:25 also, for socket.io the require seems to work. But for the second module (node-hid) launching always fails when started as a service while from the command line everything works just fine. Do you have any further ideas, koen? Jul 14 12:08:11 !seen ncbas Jul 14 12:12:29 -ENOBOT Jul 14 12:58:15 hi Jul 14 12:58:35 lo Jul 14 12:58:44 I'm trying to find a template schematic for a beagle bone cape Jul 14 12:59:13 or, if no template exist, just any cape schematic ... Jul 14 13:00:01 so I can try to quickly wack my thing on it without messing around with dimentions :() Jul 14 15:03:22 hmm, 3.5 has edid Jul 14 15:05:13 looks like uEnv.txt might be finally get unnecessary for most people ;) Jul 14 15:27:39 Does anybody else have an idea, why node.js might crash when requiring a module when run as a service while it does not when run from the shell? It DOES look in the right path, it DOES have all rights to load the module, but fails without telling any further details. This only happens for one specific module (node-hid), for the rest everything's fine. Any ideas how to debug further? Totally stuck there. Jul 14 15:35:19 WHOA. Found it. Somehow, when run as a service it does NOT look into subfolders. it does, however, when run from the command line. All I had to do was copy the .node file to the node_modules directory. Jul 14 15:37:44 bye everybody.... Jul 14 15:52:50 h Jul 14 16:23:17 http://git.kernel.org/?p=linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git;a=commit;h=06b4ba529528fbf9c24ce37b7618f4b0264750e2 ;) Jul 14 16:30:11 I wonder why he hasn't disabled USB at all with that commit. Jul 14 17:07:03 whats amazing with 3.5-rc, if the kernel died here, pressing the reset button doesn't work. I have to disconnect power to reset the device. Jul 14 17:18:15 pm at it's best ;) Jul 14 17:58:45 woot Jul 14 17:59:09 err, woof-woof Jul 14 18:02:10 "EHCI driver is not stable, disable it" at least someone @TI has balls to say it loudly :) Jul 14 18:02:53 hope that's good sign, and that they'll fix it finally for good soon... Jul 14 18:13:53 ynezz: thought that EHCI was stable-ish, while musb was horrible Jul 14 19:41:26 prpplague: so rum is your poison of choice?
