Sep 09 07:12:07 * dm8tbr considers buying one for general usage Sep 09 07:12:34 and because mylady forgot her bios password on her stinkpad... Sep 09 07:52:10 dm8tbr: why did she need to change it in first place? Sep 09 07:52:27 netman87: don't ask me... Sep 09 07:54:53 anyone know about which channels I should at least be unmuting in alsamixer? Sep 09 08:02:08 <_av500_> dm8tbr: bus pirate can hack bios pwd? Sep 09 08:02:47 _av500_: seems so. the information gathered points to a I²C eeprom being talked to Sep 09 08:03:16 if that fails some people in germany sell 'replacement roms'... Sep 09 08:03:52 i think that password isnt saved in rom Sep 09 08:04:29 dm8tbr: maybe u should ask #flashrom for more information Sep 09 08:04:32 http://hackaday.com/2009/09/24/steal-the-administrator-password-from-an-eeprom/ -- is the thing Sep 09 08:05:02 I'm not sure if that will still work on recent pads, might be a different chip, but I bet still I²C Sep 09 08:05:26 and I could use a general purpose device like the buspirate anyway Sep 09 08:06:02 that makes the thinkpad issue secondary really Sep 09 08:06:10 any opinions on the bus-pirate? Sep 09 08:07:14 <_av500_> arrrrr Sep 09 08:10:02 dm8tbr: i did order ezoflasher and sivava willem Sep 09 08:10:16 i just need adapter for soic chips Sep 09 08:12:14 heh, that board looks retro :D Sep 09 08:22:07 which thinkpad model you have? Sep 09 08:38:53 the one in question is a X301 Sep 09 08:42:51 pretty new one :( good luck with it. you can always give it to me for free so i can fix it :) Sep 09 08:43:05 ;) Sep 09 08:43:20 nah, im currently trying to find better display panel to my x61 tablet and cheap t400 Sep 09 08:44:15 I've checked ebay and someone offers 'preprogrammed' ROMs for also the newer models. so in the worst case I'll spend 25EUR on that and just replace the SMD part on the system board. Sep 09 08:44:34 doing it with a bus pirate would be just a very nice learning experience Sep 09 08:51:18 yeah. i need to get some adapters and i can do programming pretty easily Sep 09 09:10:04 dm8tbr: i have used buspirate to fix bios Sep 09 09:10:36 it was slow as hell cos of flashrom and buspirate firmwares.. it was like 1.5 years ago Sep 09 09:10:54 i did buy new desktop and flashed bios with wrong file Sep 09 09:11:11 i got it working but erase and rewrite did take like 3 hours Sep 09 09:11:36 chip was spi one in pdip8 package Sep 09 09:12:13 :) Sep 09 09:13:07 in this case it's not the main BIOS chip. it's some sort of parameter eeprom it seems (or a TPM chip...) Sep 09 13:18:27 #yocto Sep 09 13:18:57 tentacles for everyone! Sep 09 13:24:28 rofl Sep 09 14:28:32 <_av500_> Crofton|work: ELCE? Sep 09 14:32:34 Has something changed in the boot defaults for the beagle that would hinder looking at the serial output? I'm getting gibberish even though iv'e got ttyS2=115200n8 in my uenv.txt (BBxM). Sep 09 14:34:08 <_av500_> it worked before?` Sep 09 14:34:18 <_av500_> if yes, what did you change? Sep 09 14:36:17 It worked last time I wound up in a situation that I wasn't booting, but that was ages ago many a bit bakes and revisions (not mine, the communities) ago Sep 09 14:37:03 I vaugly remember some discussion of perhaps a switch from ttyS2 to ttyO2 or something, perhaps that is relevant. Sep 09 14:37:57 hem systemd-fsk is failing, telling me to do a folk check in emergency mode Sep 09 14:38:05 full* Sep 09 14:38:33 but of course there is no sda for me to fsck on Sep 09 14:40:12 Anyone know what X I should use to run fsck /dev/X on the beagle Sep 09 14:44:15 nm trial and error gives /dev/disk/by-uuid/ &/dev/disk/by-uuid/ Sep 09 14:55:37 grep -R L?usr?lib?cmplrs?cc3.11 in the oe sources directory is taking forever. Sep 09 16:20:48 <_av500_> ah yes, O2 now Sep 09 16:20:52 <_av500_> i missed that Sep 09 16:25:57 lol, took me a second Sep 09 16:26:55 av500: any experience getting nfs shares working? Sep 09 16:27:44 I've gotten it up on the beagle but I'm now learning what a quagmire getting all the permissions set properly is Sep 09 19:04:01 Hey guys, I've recently been working the BeagleBoard-xM and am currently in the process of trying to compile OpenCV applications to run on the board. My current development environment consists of Eclipse cross-compiling using a CodeSourcery Toolchain. I've successfully compiled a hello-world and ran it on the board, but can't seem to get an OpenCV program to run. I've tried to compile linking to cross-compiled dynamic OpenCV librar Sep 09 19:04:57 Has anyone had this similar problem and could give advice of where to go or how to solve this issue? Also, feel free to ask me to clarify any part. :) **** ENDING LOGGING AT Mon Sep 10 02:59:58 2012
