**** BEGIN LOGGING AT Fri Sep 06 02:59:59 2013 Sep 06 03:04:06 so, what is the "easiest" way to run DSP codecs on BB-xM, would be by using Angstrom? Sep 06 03:09:20 or by using TI's DM3730 DVSDK ? Sep 06 03:13:21 marcompile, sorry i know nothign about the XM, otherwise id try and help Sep 06 03:17:50 mrpackethead, was curious with your devices using the bbb how do you interfac with them ? ssh or do you have some sort of webUI or something ? Sep 06 03:18:27 Just curious, as im working on an Appliance interface myself. Sep 06 03:38:46 "Appliance" Sep 06 03:39:02 you can do all sorts of thigns Sep 06 03:39:03 web ui Sep 06 03:39:10 or buttons / leds Sep 06 03:39:13 LCD screen Sep 06 03:39:15 take your pick Sep 06 03:57:35 does the slew rate pinmux bit do anything for gpio? Sep 06 04:00:02 nomel: answer here http://bit.ly/1aTa3OP Sep 06 04:01:05 holy crap, lmgtfy types slow as hell. Sep 06 04:01:25 types faster than you nomel Sep 06 04:02:10 but, i wouldn't be here asking if i could find it on google :P Sep 06 04:02:23 the trm says it works for some pins...but doesn't seem to say which pins. Sep 06 04:02:38 have you tryed to work it out? Sep 06 04:03:07 work it out? Sep 06 04:03:28 yeah. i put it on a treadmill, gave it some dumbells. Sep 06 04:03:36 still, no answer. Sep 06 04:03:48 hrmm...could try some creatine. Sep 06 04:04:34 meh...i'll just hook my scope up and look. i'll keep my findings secret though. Sep 06 04:04:36 muha. Sep 06 04:05:36 thats cool. when you come back and ask a question Sep 06 04:05:38 ahoi Sep 06 04:05:42 we'll keep the answers secrect too Sep 06 04:05:53 ;) Sep 06 04:06:13 * mrpackethead covers the answer with the flimsy cardboard box the bbb came in Sep 06 04:06:17 * m_billybob marks all the posts on his blog as private Sep 06 04:06:27 *top secrect* Sep 06 04:06:45 watch out otherwise the portland and swiss trolls will steal them Sep 06 04:07:08 the chocolate and beer trolls ? Sep 06 04:07:25 mranostay hasnt been in here for a few days now Sep 06 04:07:25 yes, by another day Sep 06 04:07:36 we poisoined him Sep 06 04:07:51 he's logged into the network Sep 06 04:07:55 well last i looked Sep 06 04:08:03 few days ago Sep 06 04:17:05 the USB Device from bbb is not detected on my win7 Sep 06 04:17:23 previously it was detected and I could ssh to the board via putty Sep 06 04:18:07 I upgraded to 3.8.13 from 3.8.11 recently, but I remember I was working even after upgrade Sep 06 04:25:57 Guest11008: better than me...plugging my BBB into my win7 PC causes the PC to crash Sep 06 04:26:14 so probably the unsigned drivers are to blame Sep 06 04:26:28 drivers work fine on win7 Sep 06 04:26:48 although you're better off plugging in the ethernet port Sep 06 04:26:58 ( to a network ) Sep 06 04:28:06 not sure what you all are doing, but i just followed the instructions on the little card that came with the BBB and it al worked fine out of the box. Sep 06 04:29:09 davr any chance you installed incorrect drivers ? e.g. x32 for an x64 system or the reverse ? Sep 06 04:30:55 also are you plugging in directly into the USB port, or are you using a hub ? Sep 06 04:31:46 plugging into a usb port. and it didn't crash until after i installed the drivers. pretty sure I installed the right drivers, but it's remotely possible I clicked the wrong one Sep 06 04:32:04 But I don't need to plug it into a PC, and that's not how I intend to use it anyway, so I'm not too worried Sep 06 04:32:27 one other thing i can think of that usually doesnt cause a crash, is that sometimes devices like this prefer to be on the USB root port Sep 06 04:35:12 RNDIS atleast on windows seems to be flaky at best anyhow Sep 06 04:47:52 mrpackethead: took pics? Sep 06 04:48:20 i havnt been to work Sep 06 04:48:23 but i found a photo1 Sep 06 04:48:28 funny Sep 06 04:48:30 hold Sep 06 04:48:35 i'll scan it Sep 06 04:49:45 holding Sep 06 04:52:19 scanner is warming up! Sep 06 04:57:14 yes Sep 06 04:57:17 3W Sep 06 04:57:24 nah Sep 06 04:57:27 i belive it to be 3W Sep 06 04:57:28 this should have more Sep 06 04:57:34 is what i thought it was Sep 06 04:57:39 tubes for 3W ? Sep 06 04:57:40 there is a single output transformer Sep 06 04:57:48 so most likely push pull Sep 06 04:57:56 if these are EL34 you are looking at 30W Sep 06 04:58:01 looks interresting whatever it might be Sep 06 04:58:12 wonder where we can plug the BBB in Sep 06 04:58:13 :-) Sep 06 04:58:18 hehehe Sep 06 04:58:24 you need an audio cape Sep 06 04:58:28 i have one Sep 06 04:58:29 :-) Sep 06 04:58:46 i can see it now "Gerald, is *this* a good enough PSU for my BBB . . .?" Sep 06 04:58:47 I have made a clear acrylic cover for it Sep 06 04:58:56 so it doe'snt collect dust Sep 06 04:59:01 it took ages to clean it Sep 06 04:59:06 PA amp then ? Sep 06 04:59:10 good boy Sep 06 04:59:14 m_billybob: nah Sep 06 04:59:22 amp amp I would say Sep 06 04:59:27 Yawn Sep 06 04:59:34 it was looking *much* *much* dustier than the photo when i got it Sep 06 04:59:53 the photo is ~1960 i think Sep 06 05:00:06 I still have a couple of amps to clean Sep 06 05:00:13 given time Sep 06 05:00:51 I think this was built for a little church Sep 06 05:01:11 and it might have been given back to Dad when they replaced it Sep 06 05:01:20 theres switches on it Sep 06 05:01:36 * m_billybob has a whole forrest to . . . deforrest this weekend -> firewood campfest Sep 06 05:01:38 that say "lectern, altar, pulpit" Sep 06 05:01:38 do they say "holy" and "more holy"? Sep 06 05:02:29 wonder if i can somehow rig a BBB and a chainsaw to do all the work for me Sep 06 05:02:56 and a roomba Sep 06 05:02:57 m_billybob, send pictures Sep 06 05:03:05 from the forrest ? Sep 06 05:03:22 or of a BBB automating a chainsaw ? Sep 06 05:03:26 heh Sep 06 05:03:39 m_billybob, yes Sep 06 05:05:18 the texas ( or Arizona actually) ROV chainsaw masacre Sep 06 05:15:50 I have 2000 surplus PG16 nuts Sep 06 05:18:11 thats 7kg Sep 06 05:36:46 build a pg16 nut gun Sep 06 05:39:10 7kg @ $5.5kg for scrap Sep 06 05:39:11 :-) Sep 06 06:11:30 morning Sep 06 06:13:37 morning. Sep 06 06:13:42 any Usa guru about Sep 06 06:24:12 usa guru? Sep 06 06:24:20 morning panto Sep 06 06:31:09 hi m_billybob Sep 06 06:33:58 moin Sep 06 06:35:20 m_billybob: usa guru, japanese for a rabbit (usagi) that is constantly rolling (guruguru = onomatopoeia for rolling) Sep 06 06:38:15 KotH and a morning rolling japanese rabbit to you too ! Sep 06 06:56:55 anyone want to write a program for me Sep 06 06:59:33 echo "foo" Sep 06 06:59:56 cat bar :) Sep 06 07:00:51 [kernel] koenkooi created 3.12 (+1 new commit): http://git.io/dvaHiw Sep 06 07:00:52 kernel/3.12 d6a4b99 Koen Kooi: 3.12: update patchset to 3.12rc... Sep 06 07:04:54 looking for someone to write a app or program to read if a singnal is present on 26 of the possible 65 inputs on the beagle black, anyone interested? Sep 06 07:05:22 why not 54? Sep 06 07:06:05 lol maybe down the road it might be 54 makeing a peice of test equipment Sep 06 07:06:19 hi,all,I have a camera sensor,ov7670,and I want to use it with my BBB,should write a driver for it? Sep 06 07:07:59 you could also google for a driver Sep 06 07:08:30 someone has written it? Sep 06 07:09:04 what does google tell you? Sep 06 07:09:56 only ov3640 driver has been written Sep 06 07:10:08 my sensor is ov7670 Sep 06 07:10:46 https://www.google.de/search?q=ov7670+linux Sep 06 07:10:56 1st hit for me Sep 06 07:11:00 update your google Sep 06 07:11:13 or upgrade to GooglePremium Sep 06 07:12:09 wow Sep 06 07:13:50 yeah, GooglePremium is nice Sep 06 07:14:01 not having to share search results with the common people Sep 06 07:20:57 googlepremium? Sep 06 07:21:20 nono, google "premium" Sep 06 07:21:38 mrpackethead: its in beta Sep 06 07:22:47 oh, not a premium pay for service Sep 06 07:22:49 hopefully Sep 06 07:22:50 :-) Sep 06 07:22:55 ha ha. Sep 06 07:23:32 yes Sep 06 07:23:36 as in premium Sep 06 07:25:58 so back to my original ? any programs on want to write a program to allow me to read 26 of the 65 inputs on the beagle black, I can pay or trade for the work Sep 06 07:27:14 what is attacehd to the 26 Sep 06 07:27:25 dustindsh078_: i could charge you a lot of money Sep 06 07:28:02 or i could suggest you buy http://shop.oreilly.com/product/0636920028116.do Sep 06 07:28:57 ok well the inputs are about 5 volts dc which started out at 74 but i brought down to 5 but not reading the voltage themself just when its present Sep 06 07:29:33 add voltage dividers and read the pgios. just do it yourself. Sep 06 07:29:52 dustindsh078_: don't go sticking 5V in your BBB Sep 06 07:29:57 unless you want to kill it. Sep 06 07:30:17 votlage divider is the cheap way Sep 06 07:30:19 but not a great way Sep 06 07:30:44 you want to read analog levels Sep 06 07:30:46 or digital? Sep 06 07:30:48 well isn't cheap great by definition Sep 06 07:31:03 not cheap if you kill BBB's Sep 06 07:31:06 when you are stupid Sep 06 07:31:11 or unlucky Sep 06 07:31:13 how low of volts do i need to go im new to this, normally i just work on trains Sep 06 07:31:25 most of the inputs are 3V3 Sep 06 07:31:34 ahh 600V trains Sep 06 07:31:35 plus, theres# nothing bad in voltage dividers in analog paths too. :) Sep 06 07:33:34 dustindsh078_: grab a copy of that book Sep 06 07:33:40 its only a few dollars Sep 06 07:33:52 it will tell you from the beginning what you need Sep 06 07:34:03 sure will mrpackethead and ty Sep 06 07:34:14 come back and abuse the trolls Sep 06 07:34:17 and they will help Sep 06 07:34:28 they like it. Sep 06 07:34:48 lol i do like abuseing the trolls Sep 06 07:35:03 #beagle is full of trolls, hobbits, goblins and undergrad engienering students who want their homework done. Sep 06 07:35:29 not a student just a enginer wanting his homework done lol Sep 06 07:37:44 actually packet i was originally going to do my project Arduino to pi but the bbb looked more like a all in one that work better for goal down the road Sep 06 07:42:22 instead of a voltage divider coudnt i just throw in a resistor to bring the voltage down some more Sep 06 07:43:55 *sigh* Sep 06 07:44:30 LetoThe2nd: *sigh* indeed Sep 06 07:44:42 dustindsh078_: a voltage divider, generally is 2 resistors Sep 06 07:45:37 a voltage divider, does what its name suggest Sep 06 07:45:43 divides voltages. Sep 06 07:46:06 if you use a 1k and 5k resistor Sep 06 07:46:21 it will divide the voltage in the ratio 1:5 Sep 06 07:46:40 so, if your measured voltage was say 12V Sep 06 07:46:48 and you used a 1:5 ratio Sep 06 07:47:06 you'd, get 2V at the divider point Sep 06 07:47:28 (1 / 1+5 ) * 12V Sep 06 07:47:31 follow Sep 06 07:47:39 yes Sep 06 07:51:51 mrpackethead : ty alrgiht ill be back in a few days i got to redesign my power grid for this cause i based it off some 5 volt leds i was adding to the grid to see the circuit i made was correction my starting voltage is 74 v on a 26 pin cable Sep 06 07:55:14 one last thing mrpackethead please email me some time dustindsh078@gmail.com you I would like to talk to again.... Sep 06 07:56:38 * LetoThe2nd loads his spam rapidfire cannon Sep 06 07:59:06 dustindsh078_: FYI - you just successfully placed your mail address in plaintext in a publicly accessible and searchable logfile. Sep 06 08:05:14 all the spam Sep 06 08:16:16 Leto im already using a voltage regulator7805 in my moc build thats how im getting it down to 5 anding a resitor at the out would you consider that a fix or should I just scrap it and start over Sep 06 08:17:12 huh? you're using a voltage regulator for tinkering with input signals? Sep 06 08:19:34 well the one im useing is reconminded for dirty volts safely down to 5v but ya. It was actually reconminded to me by a remote company that build remotes for the trains I work on Sep 06 08:19:47 strange that. Sep 06 08:20:02 but ok, i'm a software guy. Sep 06 08:20:20 im just a glorified parts changer Sep 06 08:20:51 usually you'd use a 7805 though to clean a supply voltage, because it can deliver a considerable amount of current, but is slow- not for input signals. Sep 06 08:21:22 i'd go with some resistors, zener diodes and maybe a schmitt trigger there. Sep 06 08:21:38 all the standard input filtering, that is. Sep 06 08:23:25 googling "digital input protective circuit" should give lots of ideas. Sep 06 08:23:27 well i did a mok build with resistors, the 7805s were just a second build, trying to cover all ways to build it cause what im actually makeing is a peice of test equipment never made in my industry but could be very usefull Sep 06 08:24:36 also trying to make my job more modern instead of 3 guys yelling with multimeter back and forth while a train is running Sep 06 08:26:50 use a resistor and a Zener diode Sep 06 08:27:05 zeners have too much noise Sep 06 08:27:10 does not sound good Sep 06 08:27:22 didn't he say he only wanted a digital reading ? Sep 06 08:27:35 at least add a bypass cap Sep 06 08:27:49 oh, we stopped talking tube amps Sep 06 08:27:51 sorry :) Sep 06 08:28:00 :) Sep 06 08:28:21 I'm no good with tube electronics, I'm a digital guy ;o) Sep 06 08:28:39 use a 5651 tube Sep 06 08:28:47 better than a zener :P Sep 06 08:29:31 give me a desiel enging im good give me a computer well you all see what happens Sep 06 08:30:25 a diesel computer ? Sep 06 08:30:43 dieselpunk! Sep 06 08:30:48 lol Sep 06 08:31:05 http://www.dieselpunks.org/photo/album/list Sep 06 08:32:21 nice photos Sep 06 08:33:14 http://fotifixes.com/category/automotive/motorbikes/diesel-xj600/ Sep 06 08:34:48 thats different N-i-c-o Sep 06 08:34:58 boring steampunk is boring Sep 06 08:35:00 well it's a diesel engine... :o) Sep 06 08:36:26 I added that to list of things to check out, that sparked my interest Sep 06 08:40:18 well Letothe2nd every bit of this has given me a few ideas on what to change on build I'll fix the builds I have plus now I have a 3d and possible 4th build in mind, thank you all, that includes av500 and N-i-c-o Sep 06 08:42:27 oww and just google NJRR for pics of there engines Ive worked on and even built one that they use daily Sep 06 08:42:51 new jersey royal ranger? Sep 06 08:43:07 new jersey raill road Sep 06 08:44:35 if they have a pic of #67 on there cite that was built from ground up at our shop in ohio Sep 06 08:44:36 Q: i wanted to listen to udb traffic on the beagle bone black... traffic comes from a python script running on it and i listen to 127.0.0.1 but i get a refused error... could it be an firewall issue? sounds strange to refuse on same pc.... Sep 06 08:51:16 hey could someone help me please Sep 06 08:51:26 maybe Sep 06 08:51:30 just got a beagle black and I installed the drivers on win7, I can http to it, but not ssh Sep 06 08:51:31 need money? Sep 06 08:51:34 ah Sep 06 08:51:40 https in firefox also comes up with an error saying it cant redirect Sep 06 08:51:42 update it Sep 06 08:51:51 ssh had issues on older releases Sep 06 08:52:00 ah ok. I need to buy an sd card + reader/writer, right ? Sep 06 08:52:11 that's the easiest, yes Sep 06 08:52:17 ok thanks :) Sep 06 08:52:33 np Sep 06 08:52:40 one last thing.. I tried posting on google groups (never used it before).. so i clicked new topic, posted up.. and then got redirected back to the newbie page Sep 06 08:52:50 but a few hours later my topic still hadnt shown up.. does it need to be approved or something ? Sep 06 08:52:51 hmm Sep 06 08:52:54 yes Sep 06 08:52:58 aah ok Sep 06 08:52:59 there is moderation I think Sep 06 08:53:13 wait one day Sep 06 08:53:20 if not come back here and complain Sep 06 08:53:27 cool thanks again Sep 06 08:53:45 np Sep 06 08:53:53 real last question.. :) which distro would you recommend if I want to do fairly standard things.. like run a web server, wifi etc etc ? Sep 06 08:54:06 normaly i'd just use debian or ubuntu, both which seem to be supported Sep 06 08:54:11 but not sure how cut down they ar Sep 06 08:54:19 they are not Sep 06 08:54:32 not supported ? Sep 06 08:54:36 not cut down Sep 06 08:54:40 ah ok Sep 06 08:54:43 excellant thanks Sep 06 08:54:46 ur 3/3 tonight ! Sep 06 08:54:51 cheque is in the mail :) Sep 06 08:55:42 hmmmm Sep 06 08:55:49 my laptop possibly.. has an sd card readeer Sep 06 08:55:51 [kernel] koenkooi pushed 1 new commit to 3.12: http://git.io/WXwjHA Sep 06 08:55:51 kernel/3.12 dc3ea6e Koen Kooi: 3.12: fix DT entries, MMC support and drop non-working capes... Sep 06 13:46:14 eprom Sep 06 13:46:18 capebus Sep 06 13:46:20 DT file Sep 06 13:46:45 av500, there's no capebus; capemanager Sep 06 13:47:24 ok Sep 06 13:47:50 caped avenger Sep 06 13:48:42 in the immortal words of emma, no capes Sep 06 13:48:47 So if I want to connect a TFT LCD which is not cape for BBB or LCD from any other vendor, how can I connect it to BBB? Sep 06 13:49:42 LCD pins Sep 06 13:50:56 Because I want to connect LCD 5.7" with BBB, which is not cape, Can I connect it to BBB? Sep 06 13:52:30 sure Sep 06 13:53:34 ok. Thank you for information. Sep 06 13:54:20 kk_: almost everything is possible, the question is how hard it is Sep 06 13:54:29 kk_: nobody forces you to have EDID for a LCD that you *know* about Sep 06 13:55:01 ok Sep 06 13:56:01 no ideas where the console gets redirected to the USB port? :( Sep 06 13:56:07 on BBB Sep 06 16:16:24 maybe too simple for u, but how to play midi file (then next step : play piano midi usb device) on default angstrom OS ? Sep 06 16:17:13 same as on any linux Sep 06 16:17:33 if you just want to get sound from a midi file, the simplest is to use a softsynth Sep 06 16:19:35 i have not used linux on a daily basis, last years, getting trouble at installing csound and others... if it is not in opkg list Sep 06 16:25:57 Hello, I need help creating a udev rule. Does anyone have experience with this on beaglebone white? Sep 06 16:26:02 http://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/89446/udev-rule-isnt-used Sep 06 16:28:47 Udev-Noob: have you tried udevadm test to check? Sep 06 16:29:34 I know this one works: Sep 06 16:29:34 [koen@rrMBP meta-openembedded]$ cat ../meta-angstrom/recipes-bsp/fixmac/fixmac/fixmac.rules Sep 06 16:29:37 KERNEL=="eth*", ACTION=="add", ATTR{address}=="00:00:00:00:00:00", RUN += "/usr/bin/fixmac.sh %k" Sep 06 16:29:56 Udev-Noob: i can recommend this guide: http://weininger.net/how-to-write-udev-rules-for-usb-devices/ Sep 06 16:33:09 morning Sep 06 16:34:03 Thanks I will look at that guide and use udevadm test Sep 06 16:34:14 What is the fixmac.rules? Sep 06 16:35:28 It looks like udevadm test is indeed adding my rules to the run. Why isn't this getting ran? Sep 06 16:37:30 Udev-Noob: fixmac runs a script to assign a mac address to ethernet cards with all zeros as original mac address Sep 06 16:38:49 Is there a case where my rules are added to the run list but the list doesn't get used? Sep 06 16:39:12 I also got a print with udevadm test: add_matching_files: unable to open '/run/udev/rules.d': No such file or directory Sep 06 16:41:41 (marketing)we know the smallest industrial temp eMMC is 4GB but we only want the product to have 1GB, can we just format it for 1GB. (me) *face palm* Sep 06 16:42:31 idiots Sep 06 16:42:43 georgem you work with these people ? Sep 06 16:42:53 m_billybob: yes! Sep 06 16:43:08 georgem, my condolences Sep 06 16:43:11 is the extra level of WTF that they've confused megabits and bytes? Sep 06 16:43:46 nope, that didnt happen Sep 06 16:43:53 SpeedEvil marketing shouldnt know that thats a tech bit of information Sep 06 16:45:05 I don't see anything WTFy about reducing the available space. Sep 06 16:45:11 georgem: that's pretty common...often it's cheaper to produce all products the same and then just artificially limit capabilities Sep 06 16:45:19 It is a perhaps reasonable marketing decision. Sep 06 16:45:42 You really think for google phones for example that an extra 8G flash costs them $50? Sep 06 16:46:12 its in no way a reasonable decision, UNLESS they use the remaing space for backup or something. But hey maybe they want to charge more for a 4GB model of something ? Sep 06 16:46:26 * m_billybob shrugs Sep 06 16:46:32 It depends on all circumstances. Sep 06 16:46:52 Including other products, and what's available in the marketplace Sep 06 16:47:19 id see that as selling / buying leverage Sep 06 16:48:41 idk probably some unforeseen factor that not tech people think up. Sep 06 16:48:51 not == non Sep 06 16:55:06 Question: can the McASP peripheral be used on the BeagleBoneBlack or does the HDMI port negate this? Sep 06 16:59:13 hotelzulu, the HDMI can be disabled Sep 06 16:59:33 at the pinmux level Sep 06 16:59:58 as for cicuitry to support what you're asking - no idea Sep 06 17:08:57 Does anyone knows how to use the chipsee 7" LCD cape with the BeagleBone Black? It works great on Android 4.1 but I can't get it to work when I use Ubuntu 12.04 LTS or any other Linux distribution Sep 06 17:23:35 Mode-M: have you ran into a case where a udev rule correctly adds to the run key, but doesn't get used? Sep 06 17:40:35 * georgem back ports 63 patches from linux 3.6 to 3.2, gets kernel to boot and declares an early weekend Sep 06 17:41:12 win-win Sep 06 17:56:22 Does anyone knows how to use the chipsee 7" LCD cape with the BeagleBone Black? It works great on Android 4.1 but I can't get it to work when I use Ubuntu 12.04 LTS or any other Linux distribution Sep 06 17:57:51 andres__ possibly because SGX / DRM drivers are only working in android Sep 06 17:57:59 for the time being. Sep 06 18:00:27 well i am assuming they are, I could be wrong. After watching the chipsee 7" demo though and how well it played android games I assumed that chipsee got the kernel drivers working ( somehow ) Sep 06 18:01:34 m_billybob I also thought that, but I found on this site https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/beagleboard/Y-rcKPITy0Q/discussion that someone actually has got it working on Ubuntu, I couln't follow the same steps because I am getting errors while trying to build the kernel Sep 06 18:02:04 well then perhaps contact this person and ask them for help ? Sep 06 18:02:14 on the groups i mean so everyone can learn too Sep 06 18:03:15 I already did that but I haven't got any answers yet Sep 06 18:05:40 andres__ what problem are you unable to solve ? Sep 06 18:08:18 everytime I run ./tools/rebuild.sh I get this error: Makefile:1166 *** target pattern contains no `%'. Stop. Sep 06 18:08:56 Udev-Noob: i have never used the run key Sep 06 18:09:50 andres__ perhaps ping Robert C Nelson on the groups or his build pages Sep 06 18:10:08 I've go to run though sorry . . . Sep 06 18:10:26 No problems, thank you m_billybob Sep 06 18:16:29 Does anyone else knows how to use the BeagleBone Black with the Chipsee 7" LCD cape? on any Linux distribution other than Android Sep 06 18:18:20 time to go Sep 06 18:18:23 later Sep 06 18:24:09 is there a good general arm channel on freenode? Sep 06 18:25:05 Hi every body!! Sep 06 20:26:01 lxde on debian wheezy on BBB, no cursor until I open a file manager... anyone come across this? Sep 06 20:26:38 tried installing lxappearance to set cursor and it crashed :( Sep 06 21:03:55 ssssh! dont' tell them Sep 06 21:12:22 bleh... Sep 06 23:26:21 lol, i see copyright notices in configuration files. Sep 06 23:39:55 georgem_home: people realized the raspberry pi is a much better board and so left this channel alone Sep 06 23:42:23 anyone here tried using a Motorola Droid Bionic Lapdock vice an Atrix lapdock to use with the BeagleBone Black? Sep 06 23:56:13 I have a problem with my beaglebone black and an xbee 900HP connected with a USB adapter. On startup, no characters are received from it at all, but if I use "stty -F /dev/ttyUSB0 -icanon", I get 2 characters that are semi-recognizable, followed by EF BF BD hex. This sequence is repeated 8 times, with other characters repeated randomly throughout. Sep 06 23:56:54 Has anyone run into a similar problem? Sep 07 00:05:51 Actually, that was because I was using cat and outputting straight to stdout Sep 07 00:14:34 anyone here tried using a Motorola Droid Bionic Lapdock vice an Atrix lapdock to use with the BeagleBone Black?
