Feb 02 10:32:12 asdfg: what is the dt your system has running Feb 02 10:32:34 asdfg: are you sure your system really uses DT for that stuff ? Feb 02 10:33:56 yes because , before I loading my dt arecord -l shows that no sound card found Feb 02 10:34:02 yes i rebuilded Feb 02 10:35:05 and after loading as echo BB-BONE-AUDI-01 > /sys/devices/bone_capemgr.8/slots , its showing sound card Feb 02 10:35:52 and i loaded it after compiling it Feb 02 10:41:23 KotH ..Any clue Why it is like that ? Feb 02 10:41:42 sorry, no idea Feb 02 10:41:55 i dont own a bbb, much less an audiocape Feb 02 10:42:50 Ok KotH..Any how thanks for atleast quering my problem .. :) Feb 02 10:46:16 _av500_ .. any clue with you Feb 02 10:46:43 asdfg: i guess _av500_ is either eating, playing with his phone or listening to a talk Feb 02 10:47:11 :) Feb 02 10:47:50 KotH ..where are you from ? Feb 02 10:49:07 * KotH points south east Feb 02 10:49:08 from there Feb 02 10:53:49 Which country Feb 02 10:53:51 man Feb 02 10:53:55 KotH Feb 02 12:58:04 Hi ! Feb 02 12:58:06 I built angstrom image with OE (core-image-minimal), this image running into qemu, but now I need tcf-agent for debugging. How can I tell OE to build tcf-agent ? Feb 02 12:58:29 MatthieuG: see local.conf and enable it. Feb 02 12:58:56 MatthieuG: i think its IMAGE_FEATURES, and set eclipse-debug. Feb 02 12:59:35 its in the comments Feb 02 13:00:39 LetoThe2nd : I added eclipse-debug in local.conf but bitbake tell me it's not a valid feature Feb 02 13:01:47 MatthieuG: then you're probably missing the layer that brings it in Feb 02 13:01:55 MatthieuG: basically use poky ;) Feb 02 13:02:40 the layer is not provided for angstrom ? Feb 02 13:03:16 well its a layer, you can always manually pull it in. Feb 02 13:03:45 i don't know which specific layer it brings, i just know that in the poky reference set it is included. Feb 02 13:05:27 Ok, do you know good tutorial to help me ? I'm totally a noob with OE. Feb 02 13:06:15 MatthieuG: why not just open "yocto quick start" and follow it? Feb 02 13:06:47 I dit it Feb 02 13:07:16 MatthieuG: and, why do you keep saying you use OE? are you on angstrom? or poky? then OE is just the base technology, not what you should tell other people you use. it will just confuse everybody. Feb 02 13:08:36 You right, I'm also confuse with OE and yocto. In fact I use angstrom Feb 02 13:09:25 MatthieuG: and my advice would be: 1) follow yocto getting started for building core image and run it in qemu. 2) make tcf work in that qemu. 3) move that over to beagleX Feb 02 13:09:44 (other advice is of course also valid probably.) Feb 02 13:10:16 OK, thank you for your help Feb 02 15:37:00 hello everyone :) Feb 02 15:38:54 is there any expert in custom linux embedded building? I'm trying to put toghether my first linux core and I need some help.. Feb 02 19:25:14 Hello all. I installed ubuntu 13.10 on my beaglebone per the instructions at http://elinux.org/BeagleBoardUbuntu#raw_microSD_img but apt-get doesn't seem to work Feb 02 19:25:41 "sudo apt-get install git" and "sudo apt-get update" both fail with 404 errors Feb 02 19:26:02 I have searched high and low, to no avail. Does anyone have any ideas? Feb 02 19:26:31 put /etc/apt/sources.list on a pastebin and show it here Feb 02 19:27:34 scott___: Yes, you are asking apt to grab packagaes from a site that does not exist. Feb 02 19:27:39 Try using one that does. Feb 02 19:28:05 heres the pastebin -- http://pastebin.com/PFytj3it Feb 02 19:29:08 I can visit the site in my browser. I have tried multiple different servers in the sources.list file but none have worked any better than the original (what is in the pastebin) Feb 02 19:29:15 scott___, hmm that seems to be correct Feb 02 19:29:39 is your install actually saucy based ? Feb 02 19:29:44 lsb_release -a Feb 02 19:29:50 that commannd should tell you Feb 02 19:30:54 description:ubuntu 13.10, codename:saucy Feb 02 19:31:04 looks right as well Feb 02 19:31:20 a pastebin of running the apt-get update Feb 02 19:31:20 http://pastebin.com/nrtJ8jdv Feb 02 19:31:43 are you behind a proxy or some such ? Feb 02 19:31:53 scott___: Are you sure your beaglebone is connected to a network? Feb 02 19:32:24 (or does your provider inject some "transparent proxy" in the path) Feb 02 19:32:48 I am connected to my college's network. I don't know about the proxy settings but I do know that I have fun multiple linux boxes on the same network and have never seen this problem before Feb 02 19:33:00 **run. Feb 02 19:37:53 and to agmlego: ping google.com succeeds and I am currently sshing into the bone from a remote location so yea, I'm quite sure that it is connected to the web Feb 02 19:39:04 Interesting. Feb 02 19:42:57 * ogra_ wonders why your apt doesnt pull the .gz/.bz2 versions of these files as it should Feb 02 19:45:27 That seemed like an issue to me, too. Navigating straight to the link reported after a W: does indeed report a 404 but adding the .gz finds the file. I don't know enough about the apt system to know why this could be. Feb 02 20:06:02 ogra_: does the star indicate sarcasm? I don't know how to make my apt pull the correct files. Also, which of the two (.gz/.bz2) should it be pulling? Feb 02 20:49:44 I need to leave my machine soon, thanks for trying to help... Feb 02 21:18:36 can anyone pls help me find out why I dont have this directory on my BBB? /sys/bus/iio/devices/iio_sysfs_trigger/ Feb 02 21:19:45 Package kernel-module-iio-trig-sysfs (3.8.13-r23a.49) installed in root is up to date. just in case that was important Feb 02 21:21:03 im running the latest angstrom image, freshly flashed. also I enabled the BB-ADC slot, which my slots file confirmed Feb 02 21:52:12 anyone? Feb 02 21:59:19 ssl_: zcat /proc/config.gz | grep IIO_SYSFS_TRIGGER Feb 02 22:03:14 root@beaglebone:~# zcat /proc/config.gz | grep IIO_SYSFS_TRIGGER CONFIG_IIO_SYSFS_TRIGGER=m Feb 02 22:03:40 onoffon: if outputs CONFIG_IIO_SYSFS_TRIGGER=m Feb 02 22:04:34 ok Feb 02 22:04:42 and module is installed as I see Feb 02 22:04:51 yes Feb 02 22:08:36 ssl_: did you install the mod too into kernel ? Feb 02 22:08:43 modprobe iio-trig-sysfs Feb 02 22:08:45 should do it Feb 02 22:09:05 its not autoloaded on boot Feb 02 22:09:17 ERROR: could not insert 'iio_trig_sysfs': Invalid argument Feb 02 22:09:45 ^ output from modprobe Feb 02 22:10:05 hmm seems your kernel and module might be out of sync Feb 02 22:10:16 did you have all uptodate ? Feb 02 22:10:50 well, as i mentioned before, it is a fresh install from the angstrom image Feb 02 22:11:15 should i do opkg upgrade? Feb 02 22:11:29 yes Feb 02 22:11:45 and which release of angstrom is it ? Feb 02 22:11:55 use 2013.12 Feb 02 22:12:05 Linux beaglebone 3.8.13 #1 SMP Wed Sep 4 09:09:32 CEST 2013 armv7l GNU/Linux Feb 02 22:12:55 i downloaded from here: http://beagleboard.org/latest-images Feb 02 22:13:32 hi... Feb 02 22:14:28 i want to connect my rtl8187 on my beaglebone white... Feb 02 22:14:37 can you give me a guide! Feb 02 22:14:39 ?? Feb 02 22:16:30 ssl_: OK try upgrade Feb 02 22:16:49 khem: it is running now, might take some time... Feb 02 22:17:41 khem: im seeing v2012.12 in opkg output scrolling by, does this mean im using an old version?! Feb 02 22:17:46 coco__: it should work out of box Feb 02 22:17:55 it's in the download url Feb 02 22:17:56 ssl_: yes but thats ok Feb 02 22:18:04 ok Feb 02 22:18:10 2013.12 feeds may not be available Feb 02 22:18:14 yet Feb 02 22:19:53 coco__: try modprobe rtl8187 Feb 02 22:40:33 as I understand it, beaglebone black was designed to fit arduino shield pieces. does anyone know if this would work on my bbb? https://www.adafruit.com/products/1651 Feb 02 22:43:40 or perhaps I'm insane, and there isn't any sheild stuff. in that case, anybody know of a similar screen that might work on the black? Feb 02 22:45:24 such as http://uk.farnell.com/circuitco/bb-bone-lcd3-01/board-beaglebone-lcd-cape-3-5-tft/dp/2144191 ? Feb 02 22:45:58 yep, like that :) Feb 02 22:49:14 i've tried to follow http://beagleboard.org/project/freebsd/ but it seems the git does not respond, anyone run freebsd on bbb? Feb 02 22:50:09 http://arago-project.org/git/projects/U-Boot-am33x.git 403 Forbidden - No such project Feb 02 22:50:41 while opkg upgrade is running, id like to adress another problem. i've written my own little dtbo file to support my custom LCD and added it to my uEnv.txt so it auto-loads. and this is working fine, but since i added this, my BBB waits exactly 60 seconds right after all 4 leds come on, then continues booting. Feb 02 22:50:41 in dmesg, capemgr is telling me that it failed to load my dtbo, then loads the emmc "cape" and continues to retry loading my dtbo, which then succeeds. so my guess is that i need to change the loading order somehow, since my dtbo file is saved on the emmc?! Feb 02 23:08:02 oo, debian on the BBB coming around april Feb 03 00:11:47 khem: upgrade is finished, modprobe iio... working now, and also got that folder that was missing before! thanks Feb 03 00:13:01 wi 18 **** BEGIN LOGGING AT Mon Feb 03 00:23:35 2014 **** ENDING LOGGING AT Mon Feb 03 02:59:58 2014
