I'm unable to use the built-in mini-USB port as a serial connection: it isn't showing up (SSH works fine and so does using a Prolific serial cable) . When I boot Debian from an SD Card, the mini-USB functions as a serial port fine, but not when I boot from eMMC. Jun 25 19:56:10 Does anyone know how to enable the onboard mini-USB to do serial communication from Debian flashed to the eMMC? Jun 25 19:57:26 sounds like a usb gadget configuration issue Jun 25 19:58:28 or a race condition thats different on emmc boot to uSD Jun 25 20:06:37 Ok sounds good. I'll check them out and see if I can find a difference between them. Jun 25 20:06:38 Thanks! Jun 25 20:07:30 GingerBart: are you booting the same kernel in both? Jun 25 20:13:53 vagrantc: good question, I'd have to check. They're the images off of the elinux.org site, and both Deb 7.8, but may be different kernels Jun 25 20:38:02 vagrantc: Good call! The SD card kernel is 3.8.13-bone70 (USB serial works), and the eMMC is 3.14.33-ti-r50 (USB serial doesn't work). Jun 26 02:00:22 hello. I wanna use UART1 on BBB (OS: Android4.2.2 JB). and I did try "echo 1 > /dev/ttyO1" but no signal detected on TX. how can i use it? **** ENDING LOGGING AT Fri Jun 26 02:59:58 2015
