**** BEGIN LOGGING AT Mon Aug 03 02:59:58 2015 Aug 03 06:05:50 hmz, how do I configure the video mode/timings used by lcdc and the hdmi framer? Aug 03 08:06:00 hello I am apriliani Aug 03 08:06:13 i want to ask you Aug 03 08:06:58 how to install openbts v5 ? Aug 03 08:07:05 help me guys Aug 03 08:12:57 huh? openbts as the gsm thing? then you're on the wrong channel Aug 03 08:20:07 sorry , I want to ask how to install openbts in beaglebone because beaglebone in install error Aug 03 08:48:32 apriliani: www.catb.org/esr/faqs/smart-questions.html Aug 03 09:28:27 in case anyone else wants to play with the signal timing of the LCD controller: http://gerbil.xs4all.nl/lcd-util.tgz .. it displays some info and then you can press enter to cycle through the four choices of aligning signals to rising or falling clock edge Aug 03 09:28:50 (^C or ^D to exit without further changes) Aug 03 09:29:07 default is rising/rising, I only get a correct image with falling/falling Aug 03 09:34:11 just uploaded a minor update that aborts if the LCD controller isn't actually enabled :P Aug 03 16:41:03 The SRM says pin P9.25 (aka gpio3_21 aka gpio_117) can be used if the HDMI oscillator is disabled. It doesn't explain how to do that, however. From what I read, it seems that it is generated by an external component, which is probably controlled through i2c. Is that correct? And in any case, what do I need to do to disable the oscillator? Aug 03 16:41:24 (This is about the beaglebone black rev C) Aug 03 17:16:18 shevek: I think you just need to disable the virtual cape in uEnv.txt... but double check that Aug 03 17:17:19 can anyone suggest me a startup learning project regarding linux with beaglebone black? Aug 03 17:18:31 for most purposes it's just linux with a lot less memory/speed Aug 03 17:18:53 thurgood: No, I want to keep the HDMI video, and from what I read it also doesn't work because the oscillator is external. It seems I need to control V17 on the AM3358_ZCZ. Now I only need to find out how to do that. Aug 03 17:27:56 Ok, so I found in the datasheet that it is gpio1_27. But if I try to enable that, it says device or resource busy, which suggests that a cape is using it; my guess is the hdmi cape. Is there a way to check that, and to take over that pin without disabling the whole cape? Aug 03 17:29:06 shevek: How do you expect HDMI to work without the oscillator? Aug 03 17:29:19 AIUI it is only required for the audio. Aug 03 17:29:25 And, why that pin in particular, when the bone has so many others? Aug 03 17:29:43 Because I need it for the pru. Aug 03 17:30:02 There aren't many direct pru outputs if you want to keep the hdmi cape. Aug 03 17:58:22 Well, disabling the cape entirely does work, so that's a workaround for now. I'd still like to know how I can disable only the audio, though. Aug 03 19:20:52 can I use this window? Aug 03 19:23:08 I use TI C6748 DSP to interface ULCD7 Lite, the image is flipped upside down? any advice? Please Aug 03 19:42:27 <_av500_> you have a C6748 on your beagleboard? Aug 03 19:42:35 <_av500_> where did you buy it? Aug 03 19:42:45 <_av500_> I want one too Aug 03 19:52:51 Does anyone here know how to get a bbb to update its time from ntp on boot? Aug 03 19:56:20 at least someone tell me if I asked in the wrong forum... Aug 03 19:59:16 uhmm, bye Aug 03 19:59:20 Afaik this is the beaglebone channel, and BBB is used to ref a beaglebone, so I'd guess you're at least in the right place. Aug 03 19:59:46 I've only had one for three days so I'm not much of a resource for it yet. Aug 03 20:00:04 thanks for the answer. Aug 03 20:00:21 Guess I'll keep looking all over the net for it then Aug 03 20:01:16 It just really blows my mind, how it seems like I am the only one in the world who needs the thing to know the time Aug 03 20:02:02 I've only been here for three days as well, and so far it's been a sporadically active channel. Aug 03 20:02:52 I seem to recall last week, when I first arrived, someone was getting help on that very topic, but I was using a different client and don't have that history atm. Aug 03 20:03:02 Poo. Aug 03 20:31:48 it's simpy amazing what google has to say on the subject Aug 03 20:34:48 I have customized board with DSP on it. Aug 03 20:52:00 any body offer help? Aug 03 21:02:06 * cbrake wonders if its time to resurrect meta-beagleboard? I'm becoming less and less impressed with the what meta-ti is producing for bb-xm and bbb ... Aug 03 21:02:44 is there a branch in https://github.com/beagleboard/linux that is maintained for bb-xm? Aug 04 00:32:33 anyone else rack their brains over mt7601? Aug 04 00:33:11 i have it working, it just doesn't play nicely with initrc scripts for some reason Aug 04 00:36:58 what version of kernel/driver? Aug 04 00:37:51 rcn-ee 4.1.1, and https://github.com/kuba-moo/mt7601u Aug 04 00:39:16 can't imagine why there would be a conflict with init scripts - its a net device like any other... Aug 04 00:39:27 net.wlan0 starts up wpa_supplicant just fine, but it fails at 'Unsupported driver: mt7601u' Aug 04 00:40:03 hmm Aug 04 00:41:12 but once i run 'dhpcd wlan0' it works with the already-running wpa_supplicant Aug 04 00:43:21 hmm I had similar with an rt8192 chip .. buggy driver Aug 04 00:46:00 seem to be a good number of posts about it on Pi's .. maybe something there will help Aug 04 01:01:19 hey, look at that. works with '-Dwext' Aug 04 01:03:59 that didn't take nearly as long to figure out as the fact that i needed a powered usb hub to keep bbb from randomly rebooting :P Aug 04 01:08:50 :p **** ENDING LOGGING AT Tue Aug 04 02:59:58 2015
