**** BEGIN LOGGING AT Sat Jul 30 02:59:58 2016 Jul 30 08:14:38 I have just got my BBB and it was working fine and i could SSH into it but for some reason it stopped booting as in those lights near the micro USB port are not showing Jul 30 08:14:38 What could be the cause of this? and how can I troubleshoot? Jul 30 08:16:58 tomlukeywood: how are you powering it? what do you have attached to the board? Jul 30 08:17:58 I am powering via USB Jul 30 08:18:09 i have nothing attached to the board Jul 30 08:18:43 what did you do before this happened? Jul 30 08:19:06 I inserted a micro SD card could that be it? Jul 30 11:48:05 Hi ! I was playing around with my PRU code and the board got stalled . I rebooted and was unable to connect through the USB cabel. Used ethernet and saw that non of the kernel modules were getting loaded except the remoteproc driver that are related to the PRUs. Can any one help with what might have went wrong ? Jul 30 11:48:21 4.4.12-ti-r31 Jul 30 11:49:29 I downloaded the same version kernel .deb file and installed it using dpkg -i, rebooted, but that does not seem to help Jul 30 11:50:13 wow ! this time ! after the install and reboot ! no module is loaded ! not even the remoteproc ones ! Jul 30 11:53:29 Well, some how, module.dep.bin got corrupted , no idea how. Just executed depmod -a , rebooted , back to normal .... Jul 30 11:53:46 thanks anyway ... sometime .. speaking helps ;) Jul 30 11:54:39 clear Jul 30 11:54:45 oops . Jul 30 11:59:15 ZeekHuge: :-) Jul 30 12:25:08 * KotH renames txt-file to rubberduck Jul 30 12:25:37 KotH: Why? Jul 30 12:25:50 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rubber_duck_debugging Jul 30 12:25:50 [WIKIPEDIA] Rubber duck debugging | "Rubber duck debugging is an informal term used in software engineering for a method of debugging code. The name is a reference to a story in the book The Pragmatic Programmer in which a programmer would carry around a rubber duck and debug their code by forcing themselves to explain it, line-by-line..." Jul 30 12:26:42 sounds funny Jul 30 12:26:53 but shouldn't you rename ZeekHuge? Jul 30 12:27:25 he was talking to you, wasnt he? Jul 30 12:28:32 I think ZeekHuge was talking to the channel. Jul 30 12:28:40 I was just a person who responded. Jul 30 12:29:34 btw .. cool name 'rubeerDuck' Jul 30 12:29:36 ;) Jul 30 16:09:33 will this work with bbb? https://learn.adafruit.com/adafruit-5-800x480-tft-hdmi-monitor-touchscreen-backpack/overview Jul 30 16:10:34 i'm also scratching my head right now. How will i use my bbb if let's say i'm in a beach? How can I power it on? Do you know of an external battery that works with bbb? Jul 30 16:20:27 zumba_addict: I'd expect so, yes Jul 30 16:32:12 as it's just HDMI and USB. A USB HID pointing device, at that. Jul 30 16:42:00 got it Jul 30 16:42:14 any other suggestions though tbr? Jul 30 16:42:49 looked for few and they're expensive about $80+ Jul 30 17:13:29 hello Jul 30 17:30:42 hey, Jul 30 17:31:51 i just got a beaglebone black from e14 and when connected to usb it shows as 95mb Jul 30 18:52:10 zumba_addict: no idea, screens are not my domain. Jul 30 18:52:22 it's ok. Thanks Jul 31 02:13:55 Can BeagleBoard be expanded beyond 512Mb RAM in any way, and if so, how? Jul 31 02:14:19 no. Jul 31 02:14:44 there are other boards with more RAM though .. the beaglebone enhanced is one Jul 31 02:15:05 unless you happen to be confident hand-soldering BGAs Jul 31 02:16:11 No desire to mod the board at all! Jul 31 02:20:08 Looks like BeagleBone Enhanced is only 1Gb. Was hoping for 4Gb. Or maybe 2GB, not exactly sure what I will need. Want to build a local web server that can attach to a host computer via USB and mount a folder from the host computer into the SBC running Ubuntu, and all my experience with web servers is 1GB is not enough (but I am not a server admin so I could easily be wrong.) Jul 31 02:26:31 cheaper/easier to get a mini-itx board and fill it with ram if you want >>1gb tbh Jul 31 02:26:36 embedded systems aren't really designed to be data centers Jul 31 02:27:11 like trying to insert a screw with a hammer :) **** BEGIN LOGGING AT Sun Jul 31 02:35:18 2016 **** ENDING LOGGING AT Sun Jul 31 02:59:58 2016
