Problem with two new beaglebone black wireless. When I want to confiture wlan0 I start by running ifpconfig. Wlan0 is not on the listing. Thus I can't even get started with my connmanctl configuration. All this worked fine with the first Beaglebone that I bought. Can't find any documentation on the iternet for this problem. Let me know if there's something that I need to "turn on" to have wlan0 show up. Using the Sep 17 15:43:31 hi! Sep 17 15:43:46 I would like to contribute to the community... How do i get started? Sep 17 15:45:10 I saw the repositories on github but it would help if someone could point me to newbie bugs to get me started Sep 17 16:14:23 HI, just got my x15 from digikey. Just turend on the power and it has installed on my computer. But I'm I cant find a password for root when I log in. Sep 17 16:15:24 I am asuming the x15 comes with a img pre-installed Sep 17 16:50:35 All_Newbi: if it's the standard debian image, then it's 'debian' / 'temppwd' Sep 17 18:18:06 Beaglebone Black wireless. I bought one and was able to configure the wireless using references on the internet. Working well. Bought two more and neither one can see wlan0 when I type ifconfig -a. None of the connmanctl commands work. Using the exact same Debian image as with the first Beaglebone. This is happening to two separate boards. Think this is a hardware problem? Or am I missing a configuration step? Sep 17 18:47:16 BigRedwood: if no wlan0 appears at all, they're probably ones with misprogrammed eeprom Sep 17 18:49:32 check with: head -c 16 /sys/bus/nvmem/devices/0-00500/nvmem | hexdump -C Sep 17 18:50:40 (compare against https://github.com/beagleboard/image-builder#eeprom-database ) Sep 17 19:57:08 Thank you for that information. Sincerely appreciate your help. It looks like the eeprom was not completely programmed. The last 4 bytes of each group of 16 were all zeros, unlike those for the Beaglebone Black. Is this field configurable, or do I need to ask for new boards? Sep 17 21:08:54 you can fix those bytes if you disable write-protect of the eeprom (by grounding a particular testpoint) Sep 17 21:09:02 overriding the dtb in /boot/uEnv.txt should also work Sep 17 21:09:34 at least, I *think* that should suffice Sep 17 21:10:04 you may want to contact the manufacturer anyway, they may want to know about these production mistakes Sep 17 21:13:03 oh, you left **** ENDING LOGGING AT Mon Sep 18 03:00:01 2017
