**** BEGIN LOGGING AT Tue Feb 19 02:59:57 2019 Feb 19 03:07:11 Well. I got the software to run and the LED to Fade on and off while dweet.io shows some info. but it does not show the LED fading. Functions! Feb 19 03:09:56 GenTooMan: hmm, since when do LEDs have a minimum on current? Feb 19 03:11:01 if I google I mostly find graphs whose line intersects the origin Feb 19 03:11:53 e.g. https://i.stack.imgur.com/ztlaW.png Feb 19 03:12:05 zmatt: they have minimum emission current, IE they won't emit light below it. It varies between device however namely it has to do with the physics of how they emit light they will also shift color as current changes. Also it's not a characteristic they normally test for. All LEDs (that is real LEDs) exhibit the effect. Feb 19 03:13:28 hm, interesting Feb 19 03:14:46 actually it is because you have to sometimes be sure when you are making something low power you don't make it NOT emit light too. :P hence how I found out about it. Feb 19 03:18:06 https://pastebin.com/kKQ9j0ef is the funny software that does not work any longer. Can you see why this software does run but ends quickly? Feb 19 03:18:09 this effect has to be fairly minor though, unless a lot of datasheets are wrong? Feb 19 03:19:56 I thought this software would render online or at least run longer. Feb 19 03:22:29 Should I put the LEDII(): function under my LEDI = LEDII() naming? Feb 19 03:26:55 I tried to wrap the entire software in a try: & except: idea. no go. Feb 19 03:40:48 Well considering how dim an LED gets when you drop the current enough MOST LEDs it doesn't matter. BIG LED's it does most of the time it doesn't matter because you have to get really low on the smaller LED's and most constant current sinks aren't stable enough. It's just funny and quirky, and totally ignore by the manufacturers because no one ever drives LEDs that low, except I had to. Feb 19 03:41:24 lol Feb 19 03:42:05 To "0?" Feb 19 03:42:19 or to "0.000000000001?" Feb 19 03:43:05 I always try but I am the except not to rule? Feb 19 03:43:24 He. Feb 19 03:44:09 That dweet.io stuff gets too complicated too quickly. Feb 19 03:49:09 Yea. Feb 19 03:49:30 GenTooMan: ah, is the condition you're talking about the segment between the origin and the "knee" in this diagram? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Nonideal_diode_current-voltage_behavior.png i.e. insufficient forward voltage, forward current purely due to some leakage mechanism? Feb 19 03:50:19 zmatt: That fellow left. Feb 19 03:50:31 oh well Feb 19 03:50:50 | ) o Feb 19 03:50:53 Oops. Sorry. Feb 19 12:37:05 help Feb 19 12:37:23 anyone there? Feb 19 12:38:03 yes Feb 19 12:38:22 hi mawk Feb 19 12:39:05 i want get the replacement of some parts which are obsolete Feb 19 12:39:20 can you help ? Feb 19 12:39:42 MT41K256M16HA-125:E ddr3 obsolete part.. Feb 19 12:39:59 MTFC4GLDEA 0M WT emmc obsolete part Feb 19 12:40:41 can you suggest exact pin to pin replacement of above parts? Feb 19 12:40:52 recommended replacement for MT41K256M16HA-125:E is MT41K256M16TW-107:P Feb 19 12:41:28 and for the emmc the replacement is MTFC4GACAJCN-1M WT Feb 19 12:41:31 LPJ0011BBNL is also obsolete Feb 19 12:42:17 this is just a connector I'm sure you can find a close fit Feb 19 12:42:54 hardik_: hum, are you a manufacturer and now requesting us to do your homework? or what? Feb 19 12:42:55 and you can still find it Feb 19 12:43:53 @letothe2nd....nope Feb 19 12:44:05 hardik_: so? Feb 19 12:44:26 by the way I just searched for the deprecation notices from the manufacturers hardik_ you could've done it too Feb 19 12:44:30 it contains replacement parts usually Feb 19 12:44:48 yeah, and if you are in the business, you can easily ask your distributor/supplier Feb 19 12:44:53 thats their job, after all. Feb 19 12:46:35 actually i am new in hardware design....and want to learn about world famous beagle bone black board Feb 19 12:47:43 so you want to build a BBB replacement and are now asking us to do your homework? Feb 19 12:48:01 not meaning to be rude, but thats exactly what you are asking. Feb 19 12:50:37 i have already searched for replacement..... Feb 19 12:50:50 but want to be sure from these forum Feb 19 12:51:02 it does not work like this. Feb 19 12:51:20 you can look at the official BBB BOM, it should be easy to find on github Feb 19 12:51:33 hardik_: https://media.digikey.com/pdf/PCNs/Micron/PCN_31722.pdf Feb 19 12:51:41 see this for instance Feb 19 12:52:08 hardik_: here, even: https://github.com/beagleboard/BeagleBone-Black Feb 19 12:52:18 hardik_: beyond that, all is your own to find Feb 19 12:53:45 can anyone make me learn hardware designing Feb 19 12:54:34 @mawk...Thanks for sharing exact replacement pd Feb 19 12:54:36 pdf Feb 19 12:54:55 @letothe2nd...thanks for sharing link Feb 19 12:56:00 anyone? Feb 19 12:57:17 i am learning hardware using these board Feb 19 12:57:31 referring datasheet Feb 19 12:57:36 and its connections Feb 19 12:58:01 you know a bit of electronics before doing that ? Feb 19 12:58:15 yes bro Feb 19 12:58:42 but some connections are confusing Feb 19 13:01:07 can anyone share mail id to discuss further? Feb 19 13:02:07 anyone? Feb 19 13:03:07 we will be here. Feb 19 13:03:16 ok fine Feb 19 13:30:01 debian@beaglebone:/sys/class/remoteproc/remoteproc1 sudo echo 'start' > state -bash: state: Permission denied Feb 19 13:30:11 what is my problem? Feb 19 13:45:13 (your problem is asking the same question repeatedly and apparently ignoring any replies given to you) Feb 19 13:46:37 and the right answer to hardik would have been "any single-rank x16 ddr3 memory chip of the size you desire, and whatever eMMC part you want to use" Feb 19 13:52:30 Good morning! Feb 19 13:53:18 mornin Feb 19 16:18:53 hello, i bought a beaglebone black cape, comms cape, but i dont know how to use it Feb 19 16:19:31 hmm, what's on that thing again? Feb 19 16:19:50 jkridner[m]: why does https://github.com/beagleboard/capes/tree/master/beaglebone/Comms still have no schematic pdf? Feb 19 16:23:35 I need to transfer can data, I don't know if this device can be used directly plugged in, or need to set devices layout? Feb 19 16:24:16 thank you for the link Feb 19 16:24:35 normally capes work plug and play, but it doesn't seem there's an overlay for this cape in the overlays repository, so you'll need to manually configure the pins using config-pin (after boot) Feb 19 16:24:50 don't thank me for the link, it lacks any useful information Feb 19 16:25:02 which is why I'm poking jkridner[m] about that Feb 19 16:25:56 jkridner[m]: poke poke Feb 19 16:26:34 jkridner[m]: there are a bunch of capes that are advertised and sold, yet have no overlay, no schematic pdf, no useful documentation I have been able to find Feb 19 16:26:55 that's not a good situation Feb 19 16:27:07 that means , i need to config-pin P9.24 and P9.26 , if i want to use the CAN Feb 19 16:28:09 yes, i agree with you Feb 19 16:32:11 m Feb 19 16:33:21 Guest19607: I'm digging through some info Feb 19 16:33:39 in general though, to configure pin function you'd use e.g.: config-pin P9.24 can Feb 19 16:34:08 and then after configuring both pins you'd need to configure and bring up the interface Feb 19 16:35:36 Zmatt, Thank you very much for your help. I am so lucky to meet you. I will try it now. Feb 19 16:36:58 is this for real... the beaglebone has so many gpios, and this cape managed to use the audio osc pin for gpio use? -.- Feb 19 16:37:30 if this pin list is correct, you may want to disable audio (uncomment the line disable_uboot_overlay_audio=1 Feb 19 16:37:34 in /boot/uEnv.txt) Feb 19 16:38:42 Ok, i will do it. in uEnv.txt Feb 19 16:38:49 otherwise you may end up with a 24.576 MHz clock signal going to the "SINK.A" pin of the cape, whatever that may be Feb 19 16:39:00 which probably doesn't appreciate it Feb 19 22:08:44 start pru with sudo echo 'start' > state response me -bash: state: Permission denied Feb 19 22:08:52 what is my problem? Feb 20 01:29:02 Just tried to run the /opt/scripts/tools/update_kernel.sh script, was told that the certificates (SSL) for rcn-ee.com have expired Feb 20 01:45:10 yeah expired around 1 hour ago YellowSub42 Feb 20 01:45:24 he'll fix this soon hopefully Feb 20 01:45:35 maybe if you pay him a coffee he'll set an automatic certificate renewal Feb 20 02:33:53 Coffee! Feb 20 02:34:01 Sorry. **** ENDING LOGGING AT Wed Feb 20 02:59:57 2019
