Nov 20 20:59:39 Installed Debian Image 2019-08-03 and connecting to http://192.168.7.2 gives me IDE and not the old start page, is this intentional? Nov 20 21:28:46 Hello, I'm interested in making a beaglebone project featuring a 10" HDMI touchscreen. I have seen that most screens for beaglebone are 4.3" up to 7", and larger touchscreens are marketed as raspberry pi display. If possible, can you refer me to a 10" display used on a beaglebone project, and a sample project if available? Nov 20 21:30:00 well if you connect a screen via hdmi (and presumably usb for the touch?) then it shouldn't matter, as long as the touchscreen has a linux driver it should work Nov 20 21:36:43 Thanks. I'm looking at this display: https://www.waveshare.com/10.1inch-hdmi-lcd-with-case.htm and it is mentioned that when working with BB, Angstrom image is provided. Does this mean that The only support I can get will be with the distribution provided with the touchscreen? Nov 20 21:37:04 angstrom is a dead project Nov 20 21:37:36 it sounds like there's nothing hardware-specific about this touchscreen ("Supports popular mini PCs such as Raspberry Pi, Jetson Nano, BB Black, as well as general desktop computers") Nov 20 21:37:59 that's exactly what I'd expect from hdmi touchscreens Nov 20 21:39:43 I suspect they meant "works with BB Black with its default Angstrom image" (which used to be the default image many many years ago) Nov 20 21:39:52 Thanks for the information. That "Supports popular..." vs. "Angstrom image provided" confused me. Nov 20 21:40:00 and just phrased it in very poor english Nov 20 21:42:00 if you check the package content you'll see that there's no sd card there, so almost certainly they meant included with the BBB, not included with the touchscreen Nov 20 21:43:06 Installed Debian Image 2019-08-03 and connecting to 192.168.7.2 gives me IDE and not the old start page, is the live start page retired in favor of the IDE page? Nov 20 21:44:36 Newbie: if you want an answer to that question then what you'll need is patience, not repeating your question every 44 minutes Nov 20 21:46:32 I'd imagine only rcn-ee[m] and/or jkridner might know the answer to that question, and they're around now and then but it can take a while Nov 20 21:48:30 zmatt: Thank you for your time and answers. You helped me focus my search. Nov 21 00:04:23 some what OT - are stereo disparity map values linear with distance? Nov 21 02:00:07 what might I know? Nov 21 02:00:37 22:43 < Newbie> Installed Debian Image 2019-08-03 and connecting to 192.168.7.2 gives me IDE and not the old start page, is the live start page retired in favor of the IDE page? Nov 21 02:00:41 Newbie: the old start page is currently hanging around on another port.... I think 8000. Nov 21 02:00:53 don't recall which port we demoted it to for now. Nov 21 02:01:07 that's not very "start" though ;) Nov 21 02:01:20 especially since the start page linked to the IDE but not vice verse I presume Nov 21 02:01:53 thought was not many people really get any use out of it and the IDE is more useful.... working on expanding https://github.com/beagleboard/cloud9-examples put into /var/lib/cloud9 to be a better set of examples to replace any of the old content. Nov 21 02:02:19 There's now a "BeagleBone" menu in the IDE.... Nov 21 02:02:37 and it has a link to an Introduction.md, which currently just says to update everything. Nov 21 02:02:51 The idea was to actually start filling it with content. Nov 21 02:03:41 menu: https://github.com/beagleboard/cloud9-examples/blob/master/.c9/plugins/beagle.bone101/plugin.js#L195-L210 Nov 21 02:04:10 Not so useful intro content at-the-moment: https://github.com/beagleboard/cloud9-examples/blob/master/Introduction.md Nov 21 02:11:44 "pull requests welcome"(TM) Nov 21 02:12:33 There's a bug in the plug-in right now where the Introduction screen will come up on startup, but then it disappears when you click another window. I have a couple of clues, but haven't tracked it down. **** ENDING LOGGING AT Thu Nov 21 02:59:57 2019
