Oct 22 10:05:05 Hi all Oct 22 10:05:49 For the VPN feature will it be enabled on F2g or is the little sister not enough powered ? Oct 22 11:27:27 * `jaxx__ coupe sa dernière machine "non-mobile" pour le déménagement... @ bientôt ! Oct 22 11:29:17 TeigneuX: I think OpenVPN would run fine on the 2.0g but could become difficult if torrents run at the same time, vpn can take quite some time of ram (and flash space >> 1.5MB) Oct 22 11:33:41 okay Oct 22 11:34:16 I have made a post on boards Oct 22 11:34:16 in order to have different advice Oct 22 11:34:19 But thanks for your answer Oct 22 11:41:54 erm quite some amount, not time Oct 22 11:41:57 k, well I think technically there is no problem. OpenVPN is a plugin that could even be backported to the Fonera+ since it is not strictly USB dependant Oct 22 13:04:46 hi Oct 22 14:25:04 can i upgrade a fonera 2.0 from 2.3.0.1_RC1 to 2.3.0.1_RC1_DEV? Oct 22 14:25:28 iurgi: ? Oct 22 14:32:12 yes Oct 22 14:32:24 ok thx Oct 22 17:25:18 is there a way to make another ftp acount and wen that account is logged in be redirected to a specific folder in the hdd? Oct 22 17:25:42 hmmm Oct 22 17:25:50 manually, maybe Oct 22 17:27:28 iurgi, can u help me out? Oct 22 17:28:07 Lee-mon_: hmmm Oct 22 17:28:08 sorry Oct 22 17:28:11 not now :( Oct 22 17:28:16 I'm really busy lately Oct 22 17:28:20 maybe someone else Oct 22 17:28:25 a few users already asked that Oct 22 17:28:29 did you check the forums? Oct 22 17:28:29 iurgi, ok tnks ;) Oct 22 17:28:43 Lee-mon_: sorry :( Oct 22 17:28:50 I always try to help as much as I can Oct 22 17:28:54 but lately I have no time Oct 22 17:28:54 iurgi, no problem =) Oct 22 17:29:05 Lee-mon: can you access the fonera on ssh mode? Oct 22 17:29:09 I men using ssh? Oct 22 17:29:09 sure Oct 22 17:29:20 then you can probably use pureftpd for that Oct 22 17:29:23 shouldn't be difficult Oct 22 17:29:31 i guess not Oct 22 17:29:33 the biggest problem is that the disk is mounted dynamically Oct 22 17:29:40 so the folders can change position... Oct 22 17:29:42 that is my problem Oct 22 17:29:43 the best you can do Oct 22 17:29:54 is name the disk on the dashboard/usb-disks section Oct 22 17:30:26 hmm Oct 22 17:30:29 on it Oct 22 17:30:34 so it is always mounted in /tmp/mounts/my_disk Oct 22 17:31:31 Mode ---> folder right? Oct 22 17:32:03 yes Oct 22 17:33:16 got to reboot right? because there is no change Oct 22 17:33:21 brb Oct 22 17:33:32 should not be necessary Oct 22 17:35:07 it was Oct 22 17:35:14 it is named now Oct 22 17:35:32 tnks Oct 22 17:35:35 ok Oct 22 17:35:38 didnt know about this funcion Oct 22 17:35:43 :) Oct 22 17:35:56 it's not very... displayed Oct 22 17:35:59 yap Oct 22 17:36:59 to do what i want i got to create an user and add him to the pureftp group right? Oct 22 17:39:00 yes Oct 22 17:39:02 I guess so Oct 22 17:39:12 hmmm Oct 22 17:39:15 no Oct 22 17:39:17 maybe not Oct 22 17:39:25 I don't know by heart... Oct 22 17:39:26 haha Oct 22 17:39:45 heh Oct 22 17:39:54 well, thanks Oct 22 17:40:27 i shouldnt be boring u Oct 22 17:40:29 =) Oct 22 17:41:24 no prob Oct 22 17:41:29 I would testit myself Oct 22 17:41:36 but I'm busy with some crap :( Oct 22 17:41:44 ;) Oct 22 17:42:19 take time making the firmware better, not this little tweaks... =) Oct 22 17:47:29 hehe Oct 22 17:59:37 hi. now it's the nextime i got a luci error message. I can now say that it is sth. with the SMB Server wich is running. Because first it worked, than i copied something via SMB and after that i have this message Oct 22 17:59:49 cannot read /tmp/luci-templatecache/0/fon%2fmaster_dashboard.lua: Input/output error stack traceback: [C]: in function '?' ?: in function '__init__' ?: in function 'Template' ?: in function 'render' ?: in function (tail call): ? ?: in function 'dispatch' ?: in function Oct 22 18:00:46 alexsc: no torrent? Oct 22 18:01:42 alexsc: do you have ssh access? Oct 22 18:02:03 alexsc: what happens if you just do: cat /tmp/luci-templatecache/0/fon%2fmaster_dashboard.lua Oct 22 18:02:13 or ls /tmp etc. Oct 22 18:03:05 I still think /tmp runs out of memory somehow Oct 22 18:03:29 xMff: hmmm Oct 22 18:03:38 I think the fonera reboots when that happens Oct 22 18:03:54 because it runs out of memory Oct 22 18:04:04 so either the oom killer is launched or the fonera is rebooted Oct 22 18:04:06 iurgi: not nescessarily, the kernel will kill random processes before Oct 22 18:04:09 but I think it's the second Oct 22 18:04:19 xMff: I think the kernel is configured to reboot Oct 22 18:04:23 ok Oct 22 18:04:34 I think cyruss' guess is more likely Oct 22 18:04:40 which is? Oct 22 18:04:46 because this never happened (or not as often) on 2.2.6.0 Oct 22 18:04:53 some sort of cache that was enabled for luci Oct 22 18:05:08 well obviously it is the template cache Oct 22 18:05:12 yes Oct 22 18:05:14 I think so Oct 22 18:05:17 but that does not explain the problem :) Oct 22 18:05:22 no? Oct 22 18:05:24 hmmm Oct 22 18:05:31 no, it jsut says there is a cache Oct 22 18:05:39 well Oct 22 18:05:40 but not whiy there are Input/output errors Oct 22 18:05:43 and Oct 22 18:05:44 there's a second part on it Oct 22 18:05:45 hehe Oct 22 18:05:59 the thing is for some reason, the disk is umounted at some point Oct 22 18:06:04 tmpfs is (at least on OpenWrt) configured to use max 5ß% of the avqailble ram Oct 22 18:06:15 so running out of space in /tmp does not mean running out of ram in general Oct 22 18:06:16 but the cache seems to still be referenced to the disk Oct 22 18:06:20 or something like that Oct 22 18:06:31 but the disk no longer exists where luci is looking for it Oct 22 18:06:51 well is /tmp on an external disk? Oct 22 18:06:57 I hope not Oct 22 18:07:06 no, but the external disk is mounted on a dir inside /tmp Oct 22 18:07:18 ah Oct 22 18:07:23 /tmp/mounts/ Oct 22 18:07:46 well that would explain erros on iterating /tmp Oct 22 18:07:56 but not errors reading specific files within it Oct 22 18:08:05 hmm Oct 22 18:08:09 I don't know the details Oct 22 18:08:22 it was also related to a lot of ram usage Oct 22 18:08:24 I think Oct 22 18:08:35 we managed to reproduce it Oct 22 18:08:48 yes, however, the is a template parser implementation in C for luci, switching to that should solve the problem Oct 22 18:08:49 by running transmission on full load and disconnecting the disk Oct 22 18:08:57 *there Oct 22 18:09:10 the only affected service was luci Oct 22 18:09:18 then we disabled the template cache Oct 22 18:09:27 and it worked fine when trying to reproduce it Oct 22 18:10:02 what would be the difference in using the C implementation? Oct 22 18:10:02 the current is lua? Oct 22 18:10:06 it uses less memory, is way faster and does not need any cache anymore :) Oct 22 18:10:13 ahhh Oct 22 18:10:16 nice Oct 22 18:10:18 hmm Oct 22 18:10:23 I will talk to cyrus and blogic Oct 22 18:10:33 and see if they agree on replacin it then Oct 22 18:10:37 thanks a lot Oct 22 18:10:38 :) Oct 22 18:10:54 np Oct 22 18:15:46 xMff: already mailed cyruss Oct 22 18:15:49 cyrus Oct 22 18:16:25 good Oct 22 18:16:27 thank you guys Oct 22 18:16:33 thanks alexsc :) Oct 22 18:16:38 is blogic on holiday? Oct 22 18:16:40 alexsc: do you have a /etc/config/luci ? Oct 22 18:16:54 alexsc: no, he's busy with another project Oct 22 18:16:56 :o Oct 22 18:17:41 xMff have to install the dev version again :( tryed the normal version if there were some difference because of the error Oct 22 18:17:49 no difference Oct 22 18:17:54 no Oct 22 18:18:24 openVPN worked nice. would be a graeat thing to use openvpn also as a client Oct 22 18:18:26 alexsc: I see. If you eventually install the dev again, take a look at this file. If you see some line "option cache file" or similar, try changing the value to "memory" and reboot Oct 22 18:18:40 ok thanks i will try it Oct 22 18:20:15 alexsc: here is the exact change required: http://luci.subsignal.org/trac/changeset/5138/luci/trunk/libs/web/root/etc/config/luci Oct 22 18:21:13 xMff: do you have a fonera 2.0n? Oct 22 18:21:21 yes 2.0n Oct 22 18:21:22 iurgi: in a couple of days Oct 22 18:21:27 xMff: ah, ok Oct 22 18:21:28 :) Oct 22 18:21:32 how did you get it? Oct 22 18:21:38 blogic Oct 22 18:21:44 ah, perfect Oct 22 18:21:49 I was gonna offer you one now :) Oct 22 18:22:03 been helping too much ;) Oct 22 18:40:24 how do i add an user to the fonera? Oct 22 18:41:07 there is no useradd, or groupadd Oct 22 18:43:10 Lee-mon__: vi /etc/passwd Oct 22 19:28:55 iurgi: are you atk? now I've caused the error again and i was watching the running processes Oct 22 19:29:12 first luci used 99% of CPU Oct 22 19:29:53 than i tryed to logon the gui (now i cane't see any more error message it's just loading) and now i have many processes from luci Oct 22 19:29:53 *lucid Oct 22 20:41:50 oi Oct 22 20:42:34 some news with wireless name fix? Oct 22 20:42:37 of fon2.0n Oct 22 22:07:29 Hi there, I'm diving into the lua code, and I'm trying to send a file to the picasa website. I've understood how fon handles all the procedure, however, I can't send the file. The final command is sent, code, msg = nixio.sendfile(socket, file, 65536) but I receive a nil for sent, a 22 for code, and a "invalid argument" for msg. I don't know what to do :( Oct 22 22:15:39 because google is not helping, apparently both the file and the socket (arguments) are right ... does anybody know where can I find some docs about lua and nixio? **** ENDING LOGGING AT Fri Oct 23 02:59:57 2009
