**** BEGIN LOGGING AT Tue Nov 03 02:59:57 2009 Nov 03 07:46:40 Buongiorno! Nov 03 09:09:08 buongiorno! Nov 03 16:51:15 Hi all, I am trying to develop a silly helloworld for my fonera2.0n. I followed the direcitons on the wiki to download and prepare the toolchain from svn.fonosfera.org. I also followed a tutorial on how to develop for operwrt from www.gargoyle-router.com. It compiled and the .ipk package has been created. I also tranfered it to my fonera2.0n via ssh (scp). Nov 03 16:51:38 The problem shows up when I try to install it... using "opdk install" Nov 03 16:52:03 it seems there is a mismatch in the architecture Nov 03 16:52:09 well Nov 03 16:52:16 then you compiled it for a different arch Nov 03 16:52:32 ops Nov 03 16:52:33 sorry, gotta leave Nov 03 16:52:40 I'm sure someone else can help you with that Nov 03 16:52:59 ok...but should not be the svn.fonosfera.org toolchain be already set up on the right architecture? Nov 03 16:53:06 ok Nov 03 16:53:09 bye Nov 03 16:53:13 armandus: 2.0g and 2.0n have different archs Nov 03 16:53:19 Did you select 2.0n in menuconfig? Nov 03 16:53:42 good question...I did not know they were different in arch Nov 03 16:53:50 I check right now Nov 03 16:54:40 I guess we should add a note to the building page on trac.fonosfera.org (this wasn't an issue before 2.0n was released, of course :-) Nov 03 16:54:47 damn it... I have "La Fonera2.0 [2.6] Nov 03 16:55:08 I will rebuild the toolchain now Nov 03 16:55:16 but I am positive this will solve the issue Nov 03 16:55:32 so the fonera 2.0g is MIPS big endian? Nov 03 16:55:43 and the 2.0n is little endian? Nov 03 16:56:12 armandus: IIRC, yes Nov 03 16:56:51 cool Nov 03 16:56:55 armandus: You'll have to do a "make dirclean" to completely remove the old toolchain (and probably remove build_dir as well, at least I needed to when I switched libtool versions) Nov 03 16:57:21 that explain my errors...mips vs. mipsel Nov 03 16:57:33 blathijs: ok I will do that as a first step Nov 03 16:57:33 armandus: Or make distclean might be even better, though that also removes any OpenWRT feeds you've updated and can completely nuke changes you've made to the build dir Nov 03 16:57:56 sounds good Nov 03 16:58:07 armandus: What package are you trying? Nov 03 16:58:42 blathijs: any other important configuration options I should be aware in the menuconfig? Nov 03 16:58:51 I have created my own package Nov 03 16:58:58 blathijs: it is an helloworld package Nov 03 16:59:04 Ah, you said that :-) Nov 03 16:59:18 armandus: Dunno, everything should be fine by default (though I've only compiled for 2.0g so far, not 2.0n yet) Nov 03 16:59:46 blathijs: my goal is to port my communication framework onto the fonera Nov 03 16:59:51 armandus: You might want to enable developer mode if you want to actually use the firmware produced Nov 03 17:00:02 armandus: WHat does it do? Nov 03 17:00:11 blathijs: that was my first step...already done Nov 03 17:00:26 blathijs: it is a lightweight middleware for IPC Nov 03 17:00:45 it is arch and OS independent Nov 03 17:01:39 blathijs: pretty much it will enable an easy porting of existing software to the fonera2.0n Nov 03 17:01:53 another question for you expert guys Nov 03 17:02:17 has anybody tried to add realtime extension to the fonera2.0n? Nov 03 17:04:08 thanks for your help blathijs Nov 03 17:06:44 iurgi: any news about macbook and iphone bug? Nov 03 17:09:55 armandus: Dunno, I've not heard of any realtime work for the fonera Nov 03 17:11:15 blathijs: I see...it would be very cool for some time critical applications Nov 03 17:14:28 * blathijs is off for cooking Nov 03 19:18:36 iosonoio: yes Nov 03 19:18:45 but can't disclose yet Nov 03 19:18:50 we're making progress Nov 03 19:27:28 ok thank you Nov 03 19:28:35 we will soonish have a solution Nov 03 19:57:05 great **** ENDING LOGGING AT Wed Nov 04 02:59:57 2009
