**** BEGIN LOGGING AT Fri Mar 11 02:59:57 2011 Mar 11 10:36:58 Hi, I'm using a USB storage device in combination with my fon 2.0n, but the speeds were kind off slow (formatted NTFS). So now I wanted to format the disk again, and I formatted using exFAT (since FAT32 isn't an option, filesize>4Gb). But it seems like exFAT isn't supported. Is there a way to make it work? Mar 11 10:43:24 You can try ext2, but that requires special tools and drivers for formatting and using it on Windows Mar 11 10:44:16 You could also try running a Linux livecd or other formatting tool to format it as FAT32, since the >4GB is only an artifical limitation of the Windows formatter, FAT32 itself supports big filesystems fine Mar 11 10:45:59 Alright, I didn't knew that. I guess option 2 is probably the easiest one. Which livecd do you recommend? Mar 11 10:48:17 Knoppix is a well-known one, but I'm not sure which is best (I just use full-time Linux ;-) Mar 11 10:48:22 You might want to google a bit Mar 11 10:48:46 Alright, thanks a lot! Mar 11 12:18:33 @ Blathijs: Just formatted to FAT32 using Gparted (using Ultimate Boot CD) Mar 11 12:18:46 But it can't handle files >4Gb Mar 11 12:25:19 So, should I format it to ext2 or ext 3 (which one is better?) after all? Mar 11 12:30:21 Well, I guess I'll be using the Ext2-driver after all (http://www.fs-driver.org/) Mar 11 12:30:25 Thanks anyway! Mar 11 16:09:28 any body on this chanel ? Mar 11 16:13:33 yup Mar 11 16:13:39 Not looking all the time, though Mar 11 16:17:22 ll **** ENDING LOGGING AT Sat Mar 12 02:59:57 2011
