Oct 30 09:35:27 hw v2? Oct 30 09:35:35 finally up to date software? Oct 30 09:35:38 cloud services? Oct 30 09:35:57 e.g. the db app is nice, but what is not nice is how it's tied to the hw Oct 30 10:25:23 ptman[m] (IRC): I was wondering the same thing... sailfish 3.0 maybe? Oct 30 10:27:11 ah, that could be Oct 30 10:27:22 is sailfish 3 near for any other platform? Oct 30 10:28:55 How's the app tied to the hardware? Haven't used it myself. Oct 30 10:31:06 ptman[m] (IRC): "We target to release the official Sailfish X for Gemini by the end of this year. It will be sold via shop.jolla.com. The full Sailfish 3 version will include all Sailfish features, constant SW updates, Android support, and full end-user support" (see here: https://www.jollanl.org/2018/06/26/sailfish-for-gemini-community-edition-available-now) Oct 30 23:01:38 And presumably will be a complete gong show to buy like the previous Sailfish X :( Oct 30 23:02:41 * keithzg[m] really wishes Jolla wasn't so allergic to accepting money Oct 31 00:26:08 Are people in the us able t9 get sailfish x? I didnt see an option to buy it, as well as not having a phone for it yet. Oct 31 01:05:00 PlasmaStrike: That's precisely what I'm talking about. Jolla only sells it (at least so far, for the Sony version, which is in fact why it's called "Sailfish X" since it's for the Xperia X) to a small list of countries in Europe. As a resident of Canada I had to jump through hoops to pretend to be eligible and actually buy it for my own Xperia X. Oct 31 01:07:24 It's rather bizarre, they're acting as if they'd have to jump through all sorts of regulatory hoops and hurdles to sell things elsewhere just like when they were actually selling devices but it's merely software now, not hardware anymore, so it doesn't make any logical or legal sense. Oct 31 01:07:41 It's a shame, really, particularly because SailfishOS is pretty great! **** ENDING LOGGING AT Wed Oct 31 02:59:58 2018
