**** BEGIN LOGGING AT Mon Apr 01 02:59:57 2019 Apr 01 20:50:00 Hello, I have recently started using Debian on Gemini as my main phone, + some note-taking and work. I am wondering what the best way to start working on improving the gemini GNU/Linux support is. I have some experience with kerne driver hacking (from working on Surface Pro drivers), but little with Android Apr 01 20:53:06 The main issue that I've seen in ~a week of using the Gemini like this is just relatively bad battery life, especially with wifi. Cellular has been working pretty well, although I had to setprop persist.mtk_epg_support 0 in the android container, and I'm not sure why. Apr 01 20:53:43 (The issue stems from some function queryEpdgRat() in a mediatek static library with no source, so it's a bit difficult to debug) Apr 01 20:56:04 I am also planning to write a (keyboard-driven) dialer and text message app inside Emacs Apr 01 21:06:14 hi and welcome Apr 01 21:07:14 you should get in touch with Debian on Gemini (Gemian)'s main developer, Adam Boardman, on oesf.org Apr 01 21:07:29 by e.g. posting here: https://www.oesf.org/forum/index.php?showtopic=35696 Apr 01 21:08:33 if you're still not registered on the forum, I can approve your account there right now, just let me know your nick Apr 01 21:08:43 https://www.oesf.org/forum/index.php?showtopic=35696 Apr 01 21:08:57 Oh, sorry, wrong key! Apr 01 21:09:24 Thank you for the suggestion! I wasn't sure what means of collaboration is most used. Apr 01 21:09:24 no worries :) Apr 01 21:09:37 I will create an OESF account shortly Apr 01 21:10:59 OESF is the most followed forum, although there are Gemini related subforums on XDA and Reddit, too Apr 01 21:11:45 no need to post on the New members forum, since I'm here :) Apr 01 21:35:08 aha, I have registerd Apr 01 21:37:37 and now you can post :) Apr 01 22:49:50 Thanks! **** ENDING LOGGING AT Tue Apr 02 02:59:57 2019
