**** BEGIN LOGGING AT Fri Nov 20 02:59:57 2020 Nov 20 06:25:35 <@TauPan:matrix.org> I had my Cover Display turned off permanently for the last months. I had zero spontaneous reboots. Yesterday I turned it on after the 15 update because they fixed the issue that it didn't lock itself properly. **drumroll** This morning I had the first spontaneous reboot in months. So now I'll keep it off permanently again. Nov 20 06:36:52 ArcusBot[m]: i downgraded it to v1.1.1.13 and that fixed it for me Nov 20 06:37:14 @TauPan that is Nov 20 06:37:37 the v1.1.1.14 kept dying on me Nov 20 06:41:00 <@TauPan:matrix.org> 1.1.1.13 is also unusable for me. I'm pretty sure it also rebooted and it does random things while locked in my pocket. Off it stays. Off it stays. Nov 20 06:50:48 same here. Am very disappointed with the fact that CoDi <> System relations are so unstable ) But am keeping it off. Nov 20 07:19:51 so i have a special cosmo that v1.1.1.13 works on? Nov 20 07:20:18 the downgrade process didn't work on the first try either Nov 20 07:32:54 <@TauPan:matrix.org> Even if it would not reboot, the random actions would make it unusable for me. Nov 20 07:36:59 <@TauPan:matrix.org> It's also not unheard of to have such bugs only with certain hardware. I have an early bird special, delivered in November 2019. But I don't know which hardware configurations exist. Nov 20 07:37:18 <@_telegram_250862569:hacklab.fi> The upgrade did not complete for me on the codi, I tried several times. It seemed to function though, it went to 100% and then crapped out with an error. After the 4th try I flashed KDE. Seems to work well enough, i mean.. its janky and there's no real precision but hey,.. it's cool to tinker with it for an hour :) Nov 20 08:54:22 <@_telegram_792211460:hacklab.fi> > The upgrade did not complete for me on the codi, I tried several times. Combined with indirect Touchpad mode it is usable. I am glad that we have now functional phone app in Linux with CoDi. Nov 20 08:54:46 <@_telegram_142134413:hacklab.fi> So latest Linux update is completely usable as a phone? Nov 20 08:54:53 <@_telegram_142134413:hacklab.fi> * So latest Linux update is completely usable as a phone as well? Nov 20 08:56:02 <@_telegram_792211460:hacklab.fi> > So latest Linux update is completely usable as a phone as well? Nov 20 08:56:02 With CoDi? Yes. It was usable as a phone all the time except that there was (and is) no Blluetooth and Data workcs only from SIM0 after the hack. Nov 20 08:56:17 <@_telegram_142134413:hacklab.fi> Any other notable changes in last Linux update? Nov 20 08:56:19 <@_telegram_792211460:hacklab.fi> UBPorts in that scenes is much more usable. Nov 20 08:57:06 <@_telegram_792211460:hacklab.fi> > Any other notable changes in last Linux update? Nov 20 08:57:06 Not that I could see. That was not an update but rather dialler, phonebook and codi apps update Nov 20 08:57:51 <@_telegram_792211460:hacklab.fi> There is a patched modemmanager out there that seems to work better then connman but I did not try it yet Nov 20 08:58:34 <@_telegram_792211460:hacklab.fi> in any case with the current kernel and dev tree on gemian Bluetooth is not avaliable Nov 20 09:00:12 <@_telegram_142134413:hacklab.fi> BT is not a big issue for me. Nov 20 09:00:39 <@_telegram_142134413:hacklab.fi> ah, inability to use mouse on BT is a disappointment.. Nov 20 09:01:02 <@_telegram_792211460:hacklab.fi> > BT is not a big issue for me. Nov 20 09:01:02 then it is functional. There w Nov 20 09:01:15 <@_telegram_792211460:hacklab.fi> * then it is functional. There was an issue with storage performance on high io, but it is ok Nov 20 09:01:50 <@_telegram_792211460:hacklab.fi> When I synced my email, boxes it takes some time to write it to the storage Nov 20 11:04:55 <@flux:matrix.org> tried the other day that USB headset works great for playing music with Gemini. as did voice recorder. Nov 20 11:04:55 but actually making phone calls, not so much. only the internal speakers/microphones worked for that :/. Nov 20 11:05:49 <@flux:matrix.org> at least it would mean that it's possible to play music with a wired headset using something else than the builtin DAC, which is super noisy _when inactive_ Nov 20 14:05:20 <@TauPan:matrix.org> Ooops, I just noticed for the very first time that when I do **NOT** have auto-rotation enabled and rotate the device a little "rotate me?" icon appears on the button bar that I can press to rotate. That is much more controlled and convenient than random auto rotation or pressing Fn-Shift-R. Nov 20 14:11:39 <@TauPan:matrix.org> But that doesn't work with some apps, while auto-rotation or force-rotate (fn-S-r) works. Grrrr! Nov 20 14:36:47 <@_telegram_701506086:hacklab.fi> > then it is functional. There was an issue with storage performance on high io, but it is ok Nov 20 14:36:47 bluetooth WAS an issue for me because i wanted to use a mouse rather than touchscreen... but codi-touchpad is fine 😆 Nov 20 15:11:18 <@_telegram_888165589:hacklab.fi> > There is a patched modemmanager out there that seems to work better then connman but I did not try it yet Nov 20 15:11:18 externally to the Gemian, or included? Nov 20 16:36:10 <@_telegram_792211460:hacklab.fi> > externally to the Gemian, or included? Nov 20 16:36:10 externally. search this discussion of 2 day ago - there was a discussion regarding. Nov 20 17:08:44 <@_telegram_701506086:hacklab.fi> i reckon so Nov 20 17:08:47 <@_telegram_701506086:hacklab.fi> thats the only reference i found to it Nov 20 17:13:18 <@_telegram_888165589:hacklab.fi> Fair enough. Nov 20 17:13:29 <@_telegram_888165589:hacklab.fi> Ah crap, I meant to mention about the CoDi downgrade bug in that call. Nov 20 17:13:33 <@_telegram_888165589:hacklab.fi> /me bangs head Nov 20 17:14:13 <@_telegram_888165589:hacklab.fi> plus side, I now have a better idea w/ my CoDi firmware \o/ Nov 21 00:39:13 eatsleeprepeat: you forgot rave Nov 21 00:52:32 <@_telegram_888165589:hacklab.fi> i was wondering where that came from, until i checked the IRC :P **** ENDING LOGGING AT Sat Nov 21 02:59:56 2020
