Sep 02 19:19:32 please go throught the update and let me know once you think i can go on Sep 02 19:19:42 sorry.. echan Sep 02 20:30:29 maemo-meeting Sep 02 20:46:29 Well, skype still works for now Sep 02 20:46:44 using it once every 2 years :) Sep 02 20:47:58 can call? Sep 02 20:49:11 yes Sep 02 20:50:01 woot ? I thought that was broken Sep 02 20:50:08 hmm, mine stopped Sep 02 20:50:15 Nokia N900 ShadowJK? Sep 02 20:50:44 yes Sep 02 20:51:19 I did get an email about discontinued linux client last week, but I noticed it was sent to an older skype account I once had Sep 02 20:51:24 * Sicelo thinks ShadowJK has a girlfriend at Microsoft Sep 02 20:51:28 :D Sep 02 20:51:46 lol Sep 02 20:52:08 maybe N810 one is dead :) Sep 02 20:52:12 havent tried Sep 02 20:53:07 I'm really amazed to see they actually released clients for *arm* linux and that those are still working Sep 02 20:53:21 and ... that they didnt break it Sep 02 21:10:15 Supposedly they're about to, or have broken those Sep 02 21:41:03 Sicelo, when is it supposed to be unsupported ? Sep 02 21:42:16 no idea. i never even got any email. but my skype hasn't been working for at least 2 weeks on N900 Sep 02 21:42:53 and what about tox ? Sep 02 21:43:26 Hoi, I've got some weird bootloop situation here. Tried to restore a backup with Backupmenu (which was successful), but after the mandatory reboot, my N900 just keeps rebooting itself after cca. 7-10 seconds. Weirdly enough (with full battery), the reflashing command will always stay at "Suitable device not found", keeping in mind that flashing the device previously worked flawlessly Sep 02 21:43:33 http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=93647&highlight=tox Sep 02 21:44:21 on the other hand, "sudo flasher3.5 -i" (bootloader check) and rescueOS method both work, so I'm out of ideas... Sep 02 21:45:12 (btw all this was done on Linux, Ubuntu 12.04) Sep 02 21:47:13 * Sicelo hasn't a tox account. might end up wanting to try it in future (if i can convince friends to use it, haha) Sep 02 21:49:16 Sosica: do you perhaps currently have different kernel on N900 than you had when creating the BackupMenu backup? Sep 02 21:53:36 I thought that too, but it was stock maemo (before restoring backup) versus cssu_thumb (of the backup)... I didn't ever have problems with that combination Sep 02 21:57:29 according to the instructions for BM, that *should* be the cause of your grief Sep 02 21:57:59 (never really had that situation myself, but i'd never try different kernel combinations with a BM backup) Sep 02 22:04:04 what I was trying after I got the problem, was restoring a "clean" BM backup & failing to do so, as the device reboots. But now that I know what the issue might be (or most likely IS) I'm gonna read a bit more through that topic. Thx for the fast reply Sep 02 22:04:15 cya maemo, fed up with it Sep 02 22:06:58 o_O Sep 02 22:19:37 tempting to do, now that there's a N900 killer in the works finally Sep 02 22:20:00 :) Sep 02 22:20:03 which one would that be? Sep 02 22:20:13 Neo? Pyra? Sep 02 22:20:22 I was thinking Pyra Sep 02 22:20:36 assumign they release it sometime this year Sep 02 22:20:42 maybe even next year Sep 02 22:21:50 hmm first time i read of pyra, have a link? Sep 02 22:22:00 www.pyra-handheld.com Sep 02 22:22:08 thx Sep 02 22:25:34 they don't say if their screen is capacitive or resistive Sep 02 22:25:45 http://www.pyra-handheld.com/specs.html Sep 02 22:25:50 resistive Sep 02 22:26:13 ah, i see Sep 02 22:26:21 yeah not bad :) Sep 02 22:52:39 hi all, was wondering if someone has experince with n900 and pwnphone image Sep 02 23:19:28 hi all, was wondering if you know a channel where i could talk to somebody about nokia n900. Im having hard time with some installations Sep 02 23:20:51 this one maybe :) Sep 02 23:22:21 later Sep 02 23:22:27 Good Night Sep 02 23:24:25 when try to install pwn phone image on nokia n900 im getting a few errors of missing backupmenu, boot menu and some others, hoever when i try to install the using the application manager it says packages are missing. Was wondering if I should treat the nokia like a linux machine and try installing them using the apt-get function or if there is another way entirely Sep 02 23:25:26 im new to the n900 environment and after flashing it kindof confused about the way the libraries and packages are installed on it, was wondering if someone has experience and could assist me in this issue Sep 03 02:14:43 hello, what's the sd card size limit for a nokia n900? Sep 03 02:15:25 I can only find old threads when 64gb sd card still weren't available Sep 03 02:15:42 today they are but I fail to find someone who had any experience about Sep 03 02:16:07 128GB uSDXC works like a charm... just format it when you put it in, the N900 throws a few errors up but once formatted its AOK. Sep 03 02:16:23 http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=72864&page=9 Sep 03 02:17:12 god, that's majestic Sep 03 02:18:06 thanks bef0rd Sep 03 02:19:03 any heads-up for buying? Sep 03 02:20:34 thanks, I found this link from the wiki Sep 03 02:20:35 http://wiki.maemo.org/N900_Accessories#Memory_Cards Sep 03 02:21:02 are there downloadable dumps from this wiki? They would be great to use with Evopedia when on the go Sep 03 02:23:07 max capacity I used on my device was 16 GB, that 128 GB uSDXC is something from the TMO thread I linked Sep 03 02:24:39 as I'm interested in 64GB at the moment I feel quite confident, there exists some reassuring feedback Sep 03 02:43:54 me, I'd rather drop mobile phones forever than shifting to any other mobile phone. N900 for ever. **** ENDING LOGGING AT Wed Sep 03 02:59:59 2014
