**** BEGIN LOGGING AT Mon Jul 25 02:59:58 2016 Jul 25 07:07:57 hmm apt shows 56 updates. Is there new cssu update coming soon? Jul 25 07:12:33 also how common is it that when i uninstall dicer (dice throwing app). It installs BlessN900 and fcam-drivers? Jul 25 07:12:36 vajb, maybe you've left extras-devel enabled ;) Jul 25 07:13:18 KotCzarny: i sure have, but didn't install any updates. Jul 25 07:55:58 Vajb: extras-devel has newer but often broken versions for a *lot* of apps/libs/whatnot. Most generally you do NOT want to bulk-update them all indiscriminately Jul 25 07:57:28 Vajb: you should enable extras-devel *only* to install a particular selected and cherrypicked app (update), and then immediately disable extras-devel again Jul 25 07:59:18 otherwise chances are very high that you would run into issues with stuff not working after a bulk-update Jul 25 08:19:40 DocScrutinizer05: i wasn't about to :) I was just wondering of the amount of possible updates and speculating the propability of upcoming cssu update. Jul 25 08:20:59 this isn't related to CSSU at all Jul 25 08:21:19 cssu doesn't happen in extras-devel Jul 25 08:22:26 cssu has its own devel repo which is an absolute nogo-area except you are a devel of cssu and want to debug your own packages in that repo Jul 25 08:25:06 vajb, you can try disabling non essential repos, do update and then see whatare proposed upgrades Jul 25 08:25:20 unless there is a way to tell apt-get upgrade not touse some repos Jul 25 08:25:41 *easy way Jul 25 14:09:24 I tried to use dbus-send to get my (first) N900 to connect to Internet from within a script, but it doesn't work any more. The same script on my spare N900 works. The only difference I can think of is that the first N900 was upgraded to Power Users kernel with CSSU (I think that's what it's called) features, whereas the spare one has no CSSU. Is there a difference in what dbus signals are used to connect? Jul 25 14:09:32 Previously I used: dbus-send --system --type=method_call --dest=com.nokia.icd /com/nokia/icd com.nokia.icd.connect string:"put iapID here" uint32:0 Jul 25 14:40:51 kwtm: what type of Internet are you trying to connect to? (wifi/gsm/etc.) Jul 25 14:42:51 if GSM (3G/2G), the iapID may not necessarily be the same, even if it is the same SIM card Jul 25 14:43:05 Sicelo: Mainly wifi and mobile data. I got the IAP id from grepping gconftool -R, but it didn't work. Jul 25 14:43:56 I got the iapID from running gconftool on that phone itself. Also I tried "[ANY]" as a iapID which is supposed to work, or at least launch the "Where do you want to connect to?" dialog., but no response. Jul 25 14:45:27 ah Jul 25 14:45:29 Is there any way to list the IAPid's? Is gconftool -R the correct way? Is there some /etc/system/iap thing that I can use? Jul 25 14:45:41 gconftool is fine Jul 25 14:45:55 Ok. Will keep looking for a solution. Jul 25 14:46:15 Sorry, gotta go in a few minutes (going to work), in case I stop responding after a few minutes. Jul 25 14:46:21 kewl Jul 25 22:47:12 is *anybody* in charge to process email to garage.maemo.org? and to approve/reject suggested/requested new projects? Jul 25 22:47:27 council: ^^^ Jul 25 22:47:38 do we have a council still? Jul 25 22:54:24 juiceme: ^^^ Jul 25 22:55:17 https://garage.maemo.org/admin/approve-pending.php Habit Jewel of today, LighttpWeb for N900 as of 2015-06-01 Mon 18:21 Jul 25 22:56:21 pretty non-surprising we got no new devels when their requests to start a garage project are simply ignored Jul 25 22:57:47 btw I'm almost glad somebody failed to clean my email out of the garage.m.o mail-alias, seems I'm the only one on that alias anyway (who actually receives those notification mails, and *cares* about them) Jul 25 23:47:46 happy to serve, yes Jul 25 23:48:54 thought you know of #maemo-meeting, IF you want to adress us? Jul 25 23:49:58 and no, i got that mail too, as others Jul 25 23:51:19 Since "somebody failed to clean your email out of the garage.m.o mail-alias" just go ahead Jul 25 23:52:50 Is council really in charge here? Jul 25 23:53:29 I thought we got maintainers? (lacking, ofc...) Jul 26 00:38:09 * DocScrutinizer05 mumbles some curses about genuine duties of council, approving garage projects being just one of them, appointing maintainers another. Then proceeds to fix his fsckdup /ignore list **** ENDING LOGGING AT Tue Jul 26 02:59:58 2016
