**** BEGIN LOGGING AT Sat Aug 24 02:59:57 2019 Aug 24 12:19:13 Does the Great Firewall of Maemo still use a Linux 2.6.28 kernel? ;-) Aug 24 12:19:32 ? Aug 24 12:20:39 I was replying to sixwheeledbeast from around 27 hours ago. Aug 24 12:21:39 I doubt *maemo.org infra is running on 2.6.x but I have no idea. Aug 24 12:30:39 It was a joke, not a serious question, because Fremantle uses a 2.6.28 kernel. Aug 24 12:33:02 Anyway, in terms of serious questions, on Android (version 8 on an LG G5 from Fido in Canada, if it matters), is there a way to see if the computer is locked to one cellular network without trying a SIM from a different network? Aug 24 12:35:33 I thought as much, just making sure my comment didn't land on stony ground. Aug 24 12:37:29 The LG G5 uses a nanoSIM but the only nanoSIM I have is the Fido SIM I am currently using but the computer I am using is from Fido so I do not know if the computer is locked to Fido. I have other SIMs, such as one from Telus Mobility, but they are larger than nanoSIM so I cannot install them in the LG G5. I can manually cut them to nanoSIM size using a paper template I have but I need double-sided adhesive tape to attach the SIM to the paper template. I Aug 24 12:37:29 have such tape at home but apparently not at my office, where I currently am. Aug 24 13:03:02 I searched the Internet but only found lots of low-quality results written as if trying a different SIM is dead simple when the reality is that the other SIMs I have are two sizes too large (miniSIM instead of nanoSIM) to install in the computer I am currently using. Now I need to cut the SIM. Aug 24 14:01:17 xes: could you look for repo sync again please. Package telegram-cli build succeeded but get not imported to extras-devel. Thank you Aug 24 14:15:35 The SIM cutting seems to have succeeded. Apparently my LG G5 is locked to Fido after all. Sigh. Now I have a new, artificial problem to solve.
