Jan 07 07:39:55 sometimes Jan 07 07:40:10 usual way of irc 'ask, then hang around to see if anyone answers' Jan 07 07:46:48 Hāhā, xièxiè5/5000haha, thank you Jan 07 18:01:12 was there a question or did I disconnect? Jan 07 18:01:29 nope. Jan 07 18:01:35 or neither i suppose. Jan 07 18:01:36 he was afazed by irc awesomeness Jan 07 18:01:37 k Jan 07 18:01:38 :) Jan 07 18:01:58 otoh my n900 doesnt turn on or charge for some reason Jan 07 18:02:16 when i connect charger orange lights for a split second Jan 07 18:02:17 then nothing Jan 07 18:02:35 any idea what could be wrong/ Jan 07 18:15:42 battery? Jan 07 18:15:59 most likely Jan 07 18:16:22 i wonder if i have a spare somewhere handy Jan 07 18:16:33 doesn't leaving it on charger for an hour or so do anything? Jan 07 18:16:42 apparently not Jan 07 18:17:13 one particular thing it did, when i first connected it today, it lit into steady orange Jan 07 18:17:19 but then no reaction Jan 07 18:17:28 only short flash when reconnecting usb cable Jan 07 18:19:42 flat battery Jan 07 18:19:50 ~flatbatrecover Jan 07 18:19:50 Remove battery for 1 minute. Insert battery. Plug powered ***NOKIA WALLCHARGER*** to device. Watch steady amber. Let sit and charge. Do NOT try to boot. After 30 min, you got either a) a booted up N900, b) flashing amber which means you can boot, c) steady amber shut off -> start over again with ~flatbatrecover while already searching for a new battery. CAVEAT! Only works when ~rootfs OK (no ~bootloop) Jan 07 18:20:04 ya, i know, but as i've said, no reaction Jan 07 18:20:45 but i think i checked battery with multimeter and it was ~3.6 Jan 07 18:23:33 3.6V should be fine Jan 07 18:23:45 yeah, but it was ~2 weeks ago Jan 07 18:23:48 I mean, it's pretty much nominal Jan 07 18:23:49 ah Jan 07 18:23:50 and now no reaction Jan 07 18:24:04 but the n900 was powered off for that period Jan 07 18:24:18 well, you could check again Jan 07 18:24:23 with a multimeter Jan 07 18:25:14 trying to, but it shows 0 Jan 07 18:27:46 found the spare Jan 07 18:27:55 n900 is alive Jan 07 18:28:42 oh well, the bad one was some noname anyway 'capacity q10 1600mAh' i got when buying one of the n900s Jan 07 18:28:43 :) Jan 07 18:36:58 huhu Jan 07 18:37:05 which reminds me I should buy a new polarcell Jan 07 18:37:23 that guy from germany still sells them? Jan 07 18:46:15 ~polarcell Jan 07 18:46:15 extra, extra, read all about it, polarcell is BL-5J Replacement - Wannasee Electronic on Ebay or http://www.wannsee-electronic.de/handyakkus/nokia/polarcell_hochleistungsakku_fuer_nokia_n900_ersetzt_originalakku__bl-5j_i2_2090_0.htm Jan 07 18:55:41 Probably that battery just got so low on voltage that protective circuit cut connections to battery terminals Jan 07 18:56:21 If you remove the cap you can see battery connectors before circuit and measure from there Jan 07 18:57:38 Hmm I think I wrote cirquit. Hooray for autocorrection Jan 07 18:58:32 circuit is the right word Jan 07 19:00:30 Huh I stand autocorrected **** ENDING LOGGING AT Wed Jan 08 02:59:58 2020
