Jan 05 16:08:34 Dont you understand my bad english? Jan 05 17:50:44 Tickey: did you get ipkg working yet? Jan 05 17:51:25 no yet Jan 05 17:51:34 I have a proble with dns Jan 05 17:51:58 hold on 5 min Jan 05 17:56:31 ok mwester Jan 05 17:57:26 when I try to do ipkg update I get Host name look and also Command failed with return value 1 Jan 05 17:58:44 I have the dns (under Lan settings) the same as the router ip address Jan 05 17:58:54 is that right? Jan 05 17:59:17 Depends on the router. Easy way is to see what the DNS settings are on the other computers on your network, and use those addresses. Jan 05 18:00:45 bbiab Jan 05 18:08:04 mwester the router has the internal ip address 192.168.1.1 the computer 192.168.1.10 and the nslu2 192.168.1.100 Jan 05 18:10:54 the router is a netgear wgt624v3 Jan 05 18:11:01 Tickey: yes, but that is not the DNS address. The DNS server is a server one the internet that translates "abc.efg.com" to an ip address. You ISP assigns one to you that you must use. If you have not assigned that yourself, then the assignment is made via DHCP. IF you do not know what it is, then you can find out by going to the computer you are now on, checking its network settings, to find out the DNS settings. Jan 05 18:12:00 If you are on Windows, open a cmd prompt, and use the "ipconfig" command to find the ip address of the assigned dns server - use that on your NSLU2 as well, since it too must be able to translate host names to IPs. Jan 05 18:12:17 * mwester has to run off for a while - back later! Jan 05 18:12:26 mwester do I have to use Port Forwarding / Port Triggering? Jan 05 18:12:43 Tickey, no Jan 05 18:12:51 no Jan 05 18:13:11 only time you might use that is if you want to access ssh on slug via outside network Jan 05 18:13:41 right^^ Jan 05 18:14:49 (or anyother network type service running on the slug) Jan 06 01:17:26 mwester Hi Jan 06 01:18:46 caplink811_log Hi Jan 06 01:20:44 anybody here?
