Mar 04 19:07:56 with patience :) Mar 04 19:08:01 i feel like a linksys consumer products fanboy Mar 04 19:08:06 i also own the spa3102! Mar 04 19:08:25 well, you only can use console or webmin softwares Mar 04 19:08:27 she laughs at me Mar 04 19:08:28 no more Mar 04 19:08:48 ah that's fine i don't want to run xwindows Mar 04 19:09:10 as long as i can use screen and a packagemanager Mar 04 19:09:30 it's ok so Mar 04 19:09:45 asterisk runs, taht's sure Mar 04 19:09:55 : Mar 04 19:09:57 :) Mar 04 19:10:06 and you can use usv hubs, yes Mar 04 19:10:10 what do you use yours for? Mar 04 19:10:12 on port 1 Mar 04 19:10:23 aah good; usb hubs on port 1 Mar 04 19:10:37 for irssi, rtorrent, pure-ftpd, and sometimes a webserver Mar 04 19:10:47 nice Mar 04 19:11:08 i can give you more ideas Mar 04 19:11:37 http://www.nslu2-linux.org/wiki/Info/WhatPeopleAreReallyUsingTheirSlugsFor Mar 04 19:11:45 awesome Mar 04 19:13:11 <^aristotle> what do I need to do so typing `halt` on from the slug's shell will power it down upon completed shutdown? Mar 04 19:13:22 yes Mar 04 19:13:36 and you NEED screen :) Mar 04 19:13:43 or d-tach Mar 04 19:13:47 or else :) Mar 04 19:14:00 if you want keep your sessions Mar 04 19:14:14 <3 screen Mar 04 19:14:19 never heard of d-tach Mar 04 19:14:45 it's an another one Mar 04 19:14:50 cool Mar 04 19:14:56 i don't know what is the best, but screen is enough for me Mar 04 19:15:09 <^aristotle> dtach does less than screen Mar 04 19:15:18 your nslu2 can be usb powered too Mar 04 19:15:21 <^aristotle> (which is a feature) Mar 04 19:15:23 i don't know Mar 04 19:15:29 ah ok Mar 04 19:15:49 <^aristotle> USB powered? Mar 04 19:17:43 <^aristotle> I've got a regular nslu2. I've put openwrt on it. pressing the power button does not do anything at all (it would be great if that could be fixed, but not necessary), and typing `halt` shuts linux down but doesn't power off the machine (this I consider necessary to fix) Mar 04 19:18:31 <^aristotle> on a PC the kernel modules for APM/ACPI need to be loaded for `halt` to power off the machine after shutdown Mar 04 19:18:52 <^aristotle> but what corresponds to them on the nslu2 hardware? Mar 04 19:24:31 ^aristotle: yes, your hard disk can power your nslu2 if you want Mar 04 19:24:54 ^aristotle: have you tryed "shutdown -h now"? Mar 04 19:25:23 if it is a openwrt problem, then ask on #openwrt Mar 04 19:25:53 personnally, i can power off entierely my nslu2 Mar 04 19:37:15 <^aristotle> got it, I have to explicitly use `poweroff`, not `halt` Mar 04 20:34:39 PPmarcel: you here? Mar 04 20:51:49 PPmarcel Mar 04 22:17:53 hey what command is it to unzip a file? Mar 04 22:18:10 unzip Mar 04 22:18:35 unzip: Invlaide zip magic Mar 04 22:18:46 Then it's not a zip file? Mar 04 22:19:02 is a .zip file Mar 04 22:19:12 *its a Mar 04 22:19:21 hm mike, are you familiar with apex? Mar 04 22:20:13 hi all Mar 04 22:23:21 just because something has a certain extension, doesnt mean it is... Mar 04 22:26:36 i tried same file with winrar and it worked.well I copy in thoose file instead. Mar 04 22:26:52 all is done the hard way=) Mar 04 22:28:17 janne-5011: file filename.zip Mar 04 22:28:24 it tells you which file is Mar 04 22:28:26 :) Mar 04 22:29:17 ok thanks alezzandro good to know next time Mar 04 22:32:37 hrmpf Mar 05 00:12:33 re Mar 05 00:12:52 hld: was that addressed to me? Mar 05 00:12:59 (apex?) Mar 05 00:17:39 yeah... i solved it and the system boots the kernel now. but the ramdisk doesn't get recognized... Mar 05 00:17:54 what i need is a simple debian-installer image with a nice actual apex in it :) Mar 05 00:18:25 thought that you maybe know a source where i can find infos bout that stuff Mar 05 00:18:29 ah, ok then. Can't help you with the debian image, though. Mar 05 00:18:45 I'd check with the nice folks over on the debian arm channel Mar 05 00:19:08 But they're not on freenode, and i don't recall what server they use :( Mar 05 00:19:33 good idea... nother question if okay: is there a way to use the debian rep on slugos/le ? getting confused more and more Mar 05 00:20:02 irc.debian.org ? Mar 05 00:21:43 No, the debian arm stuff is compiled with different options (floating point, specifically) that make the executables incompatible with SlugOS. SlugOS uses softfloat because it *knows* there's no FPU; debian uses floating point and relies on the kernel to trap. Mar 05 00:22:39 This is also what SlugOS is faster for floating point than Debian on the NSLU2, although both are slow since they're both done in software. Just a bit of trivia... Mar 05 00:22:50 s/what/why/ Mar 05 00:23:00 heh, okay, thanks Mar 05 00:37:10 http://pastebin.com/d60dbc59b Mar 05 00:37:25 solved the most problems... maybe someone knows my failure on this one? Mar 05 01:41:35 hmmm, is it possible to upgrade apex via debian? i mean a package or something that does that for me? Mar 05 01:55:43 that's cool information about the workaround for lack of FPU Mar 05 01:56:05 heh Mar 05 02:11:06 ahhh no no netsplit Mar 05 02:11:41 hrm, zum ausderhautfahren **** BEGIN LOGGING AT Wed Mar 05 02:48:45 2008 **** ENDING LOGGING AT Wed Mar 05 10:59:56 2008
