**** BEGIN LOGGING AT Tue Aug 05 02:59:57 2008 Aug 05 11:10:20 hello, I just installed slugos on my nslu2. But I have a problem when I use smbclient from another linux machine, the shares are listed then I get "NetBIOS over TCP disabled". Does anyone know how to fix this? Aug 05 11:16:27 btw, slugos is great Aug 05 11:28:17 nevermind, the problem comes from my smbclient **** BEGIN LOGGING AT Tue Aug 05 16:02:02 2008 Aug 05 21:33:56 Hi guys! (and gals!) I'm using running kernel kernel 2.6.18-6-ixp4xx on my NSLU2. Aug 05 21:34:09 I would like to upgrade it to 2.6.20-xxx Aug 05 21:34:22 Is there a safe way of doing it? Aug 05 21:38:08 The background is that I'm using my Nslu2 as an internet gateway and I'm using the workaround described (http://www.nslu2-linux.org/wiki/HowTo/AddUsb3gModem) when connecting the 3g modem. However I've noticed that I never can reach higher speeds than 50kb/s and I'm suspecting that this is assignable to the workaround. Aug 05 21:39:59 I've been googling about this and it seems as if the modem (huwaei e220) works out of the box with the newer kernels. Aug 05 21:40:56 Soheil: It's not clear to me that etch&1/2 will automatically do the kernel update as well, but, after backing up your flash, you could try an "apt-get update; apt-get dist-upgrade" (c.f., http://lists.debian.org/debian-arm/2008/03/msg00087.html) Aug 05 21:41:59 Soheil: it's also likely that this is better asked over at #nslu2-linux, in case that's not helpful. Aug 05 21:42:19 or post on the debian-arm mailing list Aug 05 21:43:16 Great. Thanks a lot. I'll give it a try. Aug 05 22:50:55 crontab doesnt work properly on unslung? Aug 05 23:02:42 in what way are you finding that it's not working pear Aug 05 23:05:01 im not sure, it doent seem to be executing the job and the messages log is say "cron: mangeled line", or something. but the entry looks fine to me Aug 05 23:05:09 hmm, looking into it Aug 05 23:07:21 heh Aug 05 23:07:26 maybe show the mangled line Aug 05 23:08:05 i will, just waiting for slug to boot ;) Aug 05 23:09:27 ok this is the line i added to crontab...
