**** BEGIN LOGGING AT Thu Sep 11 02:59:57 2008 Sep 11 09:52:29 Good morning. I'm running ps and can see several process running in double after a fresh reboot.(e.g. /usr/sbin/CheckPowerButton). Is that normal ? Sep 11 10:21:55 depends on the process. shells and some network services fork to provide multiple listeners, some before connection, some after... Sep 11 10:31:49 joat: Thanks. Is CheckPowerButton such a service or there is something else going on ? maybe crontab? since I've been messing with it Sep 11 13:50:45 Hey there - how much of mtdblock4 is typically filled? I think I might have overfilled mine and that it's giving me headaches - mine is currently at 75%, although I can't find any Zimages in /boot, which is normally what takes up space, no? At the moment I can only get into the device on first boot after flashing - if I reboot it after that it gets stuck with the ready/status light blinking orange (not amber) and green. Sep 11 14:01:13 Geo2: my mtdblock4 is 88% full with /initrd but I also have the disk mounted Sep 11 14:01:49 Geo2: i'm running slugosbe Sep 11 14:01:53 hmm ok.. I wonder if my device is on the blink then Sep 11 14:01:56 yeah, I am too Sep 11 14:02:23 Once every few months mine looses sight of the USB ports, and I have to reset the sysconfig and reflash Sep 11 14:02:38 except that isn't working today ^^ Sep 11 14:05:27 Geo2: most is in /initrd/usr /initrd/lib Sep 11 14:08:16 Yeah, same here Sep 11 21:42:25 Hey all - I'm having a bit of trouble with my slug. I've had it running on SlugOS/Be for sometime, and twice before when it has been switched off (properly shutdown etc before having the power removed) it has gone wrong, failing to recognise anything plugged into the USB ports (dmesg gives err -19, "too many USB ports on hub" or something to that effect, even when there is nothing plugged into the ports). Previously this has b Sep 11 22:07:00 Geo1: what version of SlugOS? Sep 11 22:10:52 4.8 beta (BE) Sep 11 22:25:19 Also - does this matter from Dmesg? It looks like this is where the USB issues are arising? http://pastebin.com/mea6fb5 Sep 11 22:25:46 (/wc Sep 11 22:25:50 oops :) Sep 11 23:01:16 Geo1: Your dmesg output is incomplete; I can't tell if you have a "fatslug", nor what kernel you are running. Sep 11 23:02:02 ill put a full one up :) Sep 11 23:05:18 http://pastebin.com/m43f31a59 Sep 11 23:07:30 (that's just after it has been flashed and rebooted - if that'll change anything) Sep 11 23:07:43 What's plugged into the USB? Sep 11 23:11:13 nothing Sep 11 23:11:29 no hubs, no pendrives Sep 11 23:14:21 Yep, it's broken. Sep 11 23:15:07 ok Sep 11 23:15:13 Dunno what would be the problem; I'd start by finding a new PSU and seeing if it might be a power issue. Sep 11 23:15:35 Take the device apart and remove and re-inser the backup battery for the RTC. Sep 11 23:15:44 See if any of that makes a difference. Sep 11 23:15:48 :( Sep 11 23:15:50 this is my 2nd PSU unfort, and they're both still providing the correct voltage apparently Sep 11 23:15:59 ahh, I was going to ask about the battery Sep 11 23:16:14 how important is it? Because they problems only start when the device is removed from power Sep 11 23:16:15 Highly doubtful, but why not. Sep 11 23:16:21 heh, my thoughts exactly Sep 11 23:16:23 ah well Sep 11 23:16:33 I'll just have to buy another ;-) too much fun to give up on I think Sep 11 23:17:45 thanks anyway :) **** ENDING LOGGING AT Fri Sep 12 02:59:57 2008
