May 04 19:45:28 <mwester> If all you want is an ftp server, why use debian?   There are many advantages to debian, but one of the problems with debian on the NSLU2 is that it has no in-flash recovery means.

May 04 20:00:03 <mwester> A lot of the firmwares go through much trouble to try to preserve your network settings (and sometimes even root passwords)...   So it might be if your debian or some older install used dhcp that it has fetched a dhcp addr from your router.

May 04 20:07:32 <mwester> If all else fails, follow the wiki instructions to reset the sysconfig partition, but do so with extreme care, as you can damage your nslu2 if you mistype while following that procedure.
