**** BEGIN LOGGING AT Sat Dec 25 02:59:57 2010 Dec 25 11:28:08 Hi. My NSLU running Debian, which has been a trusty backup server, suddently makes problems: When I start it without the network connection and plug in the ethernet cable and then plug it in, it answers two or three pings and reboots. Starting it with a network cable attached causes it to go into an infinite reboot cycle. Any idea what is wrong? Dec 25 11:43:05 (Any hint is welcome, I’m a bit at a loss here) Dec 25 11:58:18 I can even ssh into the machine and see the /etc/issue text. then the Disk1 led goes off, and it reboots Dec 25 12:03:23 Did I per chance miss any reply? Dec 25 12:25:22 The last entries in dmesg before the reset are: Dec 25 12:25:24 [42949413.820000] firmware: requesting NPE-B Dec 25 12:25:24 [42949413.960000] NPE-B: firmware functionality 0x0, revision 0x2:1 Dec 25 12:25:24 [42949413.960000] eth0: link down **** ENDING LOGGING AT Sun Dec 26 02:59:56 2010
