**** BEGIN LOGGING AT Sun Oct 30 02:59:56 2005 Oct 30 03:20:32 yes, ipkg-fr is down, and has been removed from the mirror list Oct 30 10:56:19 03hrw 07org.openembedded.dev * re7172473... 10/packages/opie-appearance/ (2 files in 2 dirs): opie-appearance 1.2.1: updated CVS backport of icon size settings Oct 30 12:46:33 03hrw 07org.openembedded.dev * r189674c0... 10/packages/kdepimpi/ (4 files): kdepimpi: upgraded to 2.2.7 (current testing) Oct 30 14:29:06 does tcpdump from the unslung feed work for openslug too? Oct 30 14:41:55 FYI: the openslug unstable feed now matches OpenSlug 3.0 monotone head (2.6.14 kernel, IAL 2.0) Oct 30 14:45:26 rwhitby: did you see my note re: hosting? Oct 30 14:46:03 CompBrain: yep, we expect to have big uni mirrors on line within weeks (we're talking *big* mirrors), so we're ok for the moment thanks. Oct 30 14:46:21 ok Oct 30 14:46:35 our problems at the moment are just a hardware failure, which has now been replaced under warranty Oct 30 14:46:38 we've got in excess of 3TB monthly unused, so keep me in mind Oct 30 14:47:10 US uni or other? Oct 30 14:47:22 CompBrain: however for the nslu2-linux ipkg repositories, we just lost another mirror, so we could use your box for an ipkg mirror. Oct 30 14:47:47 can you contact dyoung-zzzz if you're interested in that? Oct 30 14:49:13 sure Oct 30 14:51:16 Hey anyone know if it would be possible to develop a utility that can do hdparm sort of things with USB-IDE drives? Oct 30 14:53:22 (to be clear, I'm asking if such a thing is possible, not asking anyone to do it for me) Oct 30 14:54:36 Zhyla: last i checked there wasnt, but ive been out of the loop for a while Oct 30 14:59:53 hmmm... there needs to be a way, it's really lame to have to disassemble your NAS setup to reconfigure the drives Oct 30 15:01:52 03jbowler 07org.openembedded.dev * re9974d38... 10/packages/linux/ (7 files in 2 dirs): (log message trimmed) Oct 30 15:01:53 nslu2-kernel: updated patch set and defconfig in 2.6.14 Oct 30 15:01:53 - 16-ixp4xx-ioremap is removed (l-a-k wants the warning in there) Oct 30 15:01:53 - 25-nslu2-arch-reset is removed (doesn't seem necessary in 2.6.13+) Oct 30 15:01:53 - 10-ixp4xx-copy-from update to remove compiler warning Oct 30 15:01:54 - 18-ixp4xx-io-h-addr better patch - removes casts Oct 30 15:01:56 - defconfig - update from CVS Oct 30 15:12:50 CompBrain: looks like sdparm is the tool that will eventually let us do that, but it looks like there's some work to be done in the kernel before that will work Oct 30 15:24:38 Zhyla: a lot depends on what your USB/IDE converter supports. Most of them implement a small subset of the IDE command set so that for example SMART disk monitoring doesn't work. I'd suspect the same to be true of many of the parameters that you normally control with hdparm, many of the others are irrelevant for drives that aren't directly connected Oct 30 15:28:21 AdamBaker: yeah, I'm mainly concerned with the spin-down timer Oct 30 15:29:11 AdamBaker: and possibly the acoustic management **** ENDING LOGGING AT Mon Oct 31 02:59:56 2005
