Jun 08 00:44:13 jacques: ok Jun 08 00:44:16 :-D Jun 08 00:46:33 jacques: do you remember patch name? Jun 08 00:46:52 packages/flex/flex-2.5.31/include.patch? Jun 08 00:47:53 yep, that's the one Jun 08 00:48:16 it looks innocuous, but apparently it's important at least for armeb Jun 08 00:48:20 (and arm) Jun 08 00:50:40 Packaged contents of flex into /home/hrw/zaurus/oe/build/0422/tmp/deploy/ipk/flex_2.5.31-r1_arm.ipk Jun 08 00:53:12 morning all Jun 08 00:56:28 hi RP Jun 08 00:57:30 flex: ELF 32-bit LSB executable, ARM, version 1 (ARM), for GNU/Linux 2.4.0, dynamically linked (uses shared libs), stripped Jun 08 00:57:59 jacques: what is your real name? Because I got a free sample from work. But there was a different pinning. So I had to connect it with wires. Jun 08 02:38:19 jacques: ooops Jun 08 02:38:36 do13: i see. would another module make it easier? Jun 08 02:39:59 I guess the tosa has a different mitsumi modules inside. But you can't solder this by hand, because the pads are under the module. Jun 08 02:43:33 RP: is there any free space in c7x0? Jun 08 02:45:40 Been trying to compile gcc within OE, and it compiles forever (until you reboot) and also creates multiple configure processes (about 35) Jun 08 02:46:09 Ken|JLimeX: more details please Jun 08 02:46:39 hrw|work: On the c760, loads. Not sure about the c700 Jun 08 02:47:24 hrw|work, dont have any. Jun 08 02:47:59 there should be logs in tmp/work/gcc/temp Jun 08 02:48:08 let me check, one sec Jun 08 02:48:36 tmp/work/gcc-[version]/temp that is Jun 08 02:49:29 ${WORKDIR}/gcc-[version]/temp even Jun 08 02:49:43 No dir there, maybe i did this before i reinstalled. I'll do it again and post. Jun 08 02:50:41 mickeyl: http://www.mitsumi.de/index3.html I guess the WML-C10 or WML-C19 fits into the tosa. But these modules need 3.3V and 1.8V supply voltage. I used a WML-C20 which only needs 3.3V. Jun 08 02:51:50 hrw|work: thinking of internal BT? Jun 08 13:58:10 Can anyone give me some hint on how to debug an illegal instruction problem? http://pastebin.ca/13760 Jun 08 13:58:21 gdb and strace doesn't help much Jun 08 14:00:03 boti_: Is this on the Z under 2.6? Jun 08 14:00:39 RP:yes Jun 08 14:00:50 boti_: How recent is the kernel? Jun 08 14:01:08 Linux c7x0 2.6.12-rc3-mm2 Jun 08 14:01:45 boti_: If after 2.6.12-rc4, you need the copypage patch in oe Jun 08 14:02:00 Hmm. It shouldn't be a problem on that kernel Jun 08 14:02:37 There may be other broken things in -mm2 though Jun 08 14:02:58 I'd suggest using plain -rc5 with the copypage applied Jun 08 14:03:02 -mm is trouble... Jun 08 14:03:08 I'll build rc5 Jun 08 14:03:20 and see what happens. Jun 08 14:03:59 The trouble is some of the mtd fixes you need come from the mtd-git tree which comes from -mm Jun 08 14:04:30 what is the root cause of this SIGILL? Jun 08 14:05:28 boti_: I'd possible blame memory corruption Jun 08 14:05:51 I've spent the last while debugging the mm tree tracking memory corruption bugs Jun 08 14:06:02 (I don't want them in mainline) Jun 08 14:08:16 If this would be a real illegal instruction problem (x86 binary), then gdb and strace would say something else? Jun 08 14:08:21 lol Jun 08 14:08:46 GPRS hit the current limitiation of my PSU Jun 08 14:09:10 boti_: probably. I'm not certain this is memory corruption - its just an educated guess Jun 08 14:09:32 boti_: There are some mmtree fix patches in my patches directory we were using on the oe kernel Jun 08 14:09:56 boti_: other guess is alignment issue Jun 08 14:10:02 boti_: did that app ever work? Jun 08 14:10:19 boti_: Which app is it you're debugging and does it work elsewhere? Jun 08 14:10:33 RP: I'm using a package that is first build as -native, but there shouldn't be any x86 code in the in theory. But if there is, I need to find which one of the libs it is. Jun 08 14:10:34 I knew my rootfs worked which is why I could blame the -mm kernels Jun 08 14:10:34 If I go up with the voltage the current should get less? Jun 08 14:10:59 boti_: echo 3 > /proc/cpu/alignment Jun 08 14:11:02 boti_: run file against the libs Jun 08 14:11:07 or any other value Jun 08 14:11:11 it's anthy with im-ja (for japanese input) Jun 08 14:12:38 it'd be a big step if GPE could have a working Japanese input mode, and I'm pretty close now Jun 08 14:14:00 zecke: There is an option to sigaction. define a handle for sigterm. You have to put SA_SIGINFO in the sa_flags. Your handler take in this case 3 params. 2nd is a siginfo_t *. Jun 08 14:14:18 koen|tv, thx Jun 08 14:14:52 In siginfo, you have a si_pid that is the pid of the process who 'kill'ed your process. Jun 08 14:16:18 zecke: the alignment trick didn't help. Jun 08 14:16:51 boti_: it is no trick Jun 08 14:16:56 boti_: it is a debugging help Jun 08 14:16:58 the app never work because it's the first time I'm running it and nobody ever did it before Jun 08 14:18:34 zecke: where does it help? gdb? Jun 08 14:18:58 boti_: no you can configure it to give warnings Jun 08 14:20:22 boti_: http://lxr.linux.no/source/Documentation/arm/mem_alignment Jun 08 14:20:24 zecke: it doesn't give any warnings (nothing in dmesg) Jun 08 14:20:37 boti_: did you configure it to give warnings? Jun 08 14:20:44 I think you can echo [0-4] into it Jun 08 14:25:48 zecke: if it's done through .config I guess not Jun 08 14:26:07 boti_: read the url I gave you Jun 08 14:26:47 * CosmicPenguin hugs lcov Jun 08 14:26:57 meanwhile I went through all the libs with file and all seem to be OK (=ARM) Jun 08 14:30:12 thank you all for the help.
