**** BEGIN LOGGING AT Thu Sep 01 02:59:57 2011 Sep 01 07:50:30 Hi everyone Sep 01 07:51:29 A simple question : I need to compile directfb with opengl support linking my own opengl headers and libs that are not integrated in oe. Sep 01 07:52:00 Which is the best method to integrate these headers and libs to make them visible to directfb in compilation/linking? Sep 01 08:00:00 03Tasslehoff Kjappfot 07org.openembedded.dev * r8deb9697d8 10openembedded.git/recipes/linux/linux-omap_2.6.39.bb: Sep 01 08:00:00 linux-omap_2.6.39: remove patch that prevented board from resuming from suspend. Sep 01 08:00:00 Running on a board similar to Beagleboard C3 (but without NAND) I could not resume from suspend with the patch. Sep 01 08:00:00 The console output when suspending was as expected, but neither console input nor a timer would wake the board. Sep 01 08:00:01 Without the patch, everything works as it should. Sep 01 08:15:42 risca : I don't think...it will search for mesa ones... Sep 01 08:18:22 Then I don't think there is any easy method Sep 01 08:20:00 Perhaps if you could find a way to alter the Makefile (after configure) to point to your files instead of original headers Sep 01 08:21:13 and the create a patch Sep 01 08:21:22 s/the/then/ Sep 01 08:22:09 risca : At the moment I've tried to substitute my headers in the staging dir and for now it seems to work...now how can I tell directfb recipe to add some CFLAGS and LDFLAGS so I can link addition libraries? Sep 01 08:23:53 It should be possible. Let me research that for a bit Sep 01 08:25:44 Try looking at http://docs.openembedded.org/usermanual/usermanual.html#chapter_recipes Sep 01 08:26:55 tnx!! Sep 01 08:33:01 mrAlmond, I think EXTRA_OECONF is what you are looking for Sep 01 08:33:15 risca : thank you very much!!! Sep 01 08:46:58 risca : I'm currently using EXTRA_OECONF for configure options...are you sure I shouldn't use EXTRA_OEMAKE or something else? Sep 01 08:50:14 maybe I should use CFLAGS_append Sep 01 08:56:13 mrAlmond: It also depends on the specific build system/Makefile. Sep 01 08:57:33 mrAlmond: If you do not get further help here you can sent your current status with a description and build error to the list. Submit it as a patch (`git format-patch …`; more information in the Wiki) so that others can test it. Sep 01 09:46:45 how do i add custom kernels to oe-core ( I got sato image run on zaurus, but with old kernel ) Sep 01 09:48:17 ka6sox: ping Sep 01 09:48:36 Good Morning (or late nite for me) Sep 01 09:48:49 ka6sox: Ill be in Cupertino 6th-14th Sep 01 09:49:13 ka6sox: also do american cars have the same 12v lighter adapter as EU ones? Sep 01 11:37:53 yes Sep 01 11:39:00 ok. how can i fix the tzdata/code problem . ( i have done new rcipes to compile with tzdata2001i ) Sep 01 11:39:57 openembedded-dev had provided a mirror for most packages. oe-core not (:-(( Sep 01 11:40:01 morning! Sep 01 11:40:56 and is someone working on getting oe-core running for zaurus ( c1000/3000/32000 ) ? Sep 01 11:43:28 pwgen: yes there is temporary meta-zaurus repo and bluelightning plans to create meta-handhelds Sep 01 11:44:04 JaMa / pwgen: FYI meta-handheld is now published but in a temporary location Sep 01 11:44:15 waiting on creation of the proper repos Sep 01 11:44:18 in the mean time: Sep 01 11:44:23 JaMa: i could start the sato image ( compiled with qemu-arm) onmy c3200 .. Sep 01 11:44:40 https://github.com/bluelightning/meta-handheld Sep 01 11:47:25 bluelightning: do you plan to push klibc to oe-core (or is it even already?) Sep 01 11:47:48 JaMa: I thought ant_ was taking care of that... Sep 01 11:47:57 an the way to add a meta repo is add it to conf/bblayers.conf. is this right ? Sep 01 11:48:06 bluelightning: it's in meta-oe, but README is missing dependency on meta-oe Sep 01 11:48:26 JaMa: ah right, yes, I need to add that in that case Sep 01 11:48:37 bluelightning: and do you plan to pull linux-kexecboot etc from meta-zaurus? Sep 01 11:48:55 there's a bit of work yet to be done on meta-handheld; I've not yet tested any of the zaurus machines Sep 01 11:49:05 JaMa: yes Sep 01 11:49:44 unfortunately I'm in the process of moving house so can't promise to work on it much over the next 2 weeks... Sep 01 11:49:48 ok then I'll stay with my meta-zaurus a bit longer :) Sep 01 11:50:07 feel free to send me patches though :) Sep 01 11:52:23 JaMa: where is your meta-zaurus ? Sep 01 11:52:57 is there a description how to create patches for oe-core ? Sep 01 11:57:07 bluelightning: ie linux_2.6.39 is a bit cleaner in meta-zaurus.. I'll try to go through git diff and send it later.. Sep 01 11:57:26 pwgen: in http://git.shr-project.org/git/?p=meta-smartphone.git;a=summary Sep 01 11:57:52 JaMa: ok that would be great, thanks Sep 01 12:08:19 Cu later .. Sep 01 12:55:15 NOTE: fetch http://www.angstrom-distribution.org/unstable/sources/ecjsrc-3.6.1.zip Sep 01 12:56:15 http://pastebin.com/73QyME13 Sep 01 13:24:34 Does OE use host 'make' whenever possible? Sep 01 13:29:50 hmm, my initial experiences with cmake are positive Sep 01 14:16:23 risca: I am not sure, but I think make-native is build and therefore the `make` in host should *not* be used. Sep 01 14:21:25 PaulePanter, I didn't find any make-native stamps when I looked, but I could have missed it Sep 01 14:21:30 I will check again Sep 01 14:22:07 Ah, automake-native Sep 01 14:22:42 or... wait. Version numbers doesn't make sense Sep 01 14:24:29 No, I don't see any make-native stamps Sep 01 14:24:30 risca: oe.dev: `$ ls recipes/make` Sep 01 14:25:30 risca: Well, I could be wrong. What are you using? oe-dev or meta-oe? Sep 01 14:26:16 git://github.com/openembedded/openembedded.git Sep 01 14:26:32 Is what I am using (from the getting started wiki) Sep 01 14:27:08 risca: Ok, that is oe.dev. The old classic repository. Sep 01 14:27:10 The recipe exists, it just isn't used (at least there are no stamps in my tmp folder) Sep 01 14:27:22 risca: I see. Sep 01 14:27:28 risca: Do you get any errors? Sep 01 14:28:45 I had, but corrected it with a self-made patch Sep 01 14:29:28 A recipe (ti-dsplink-module) required gnu make 3.81, 3.81beta 3.90 or 3.91 or it wouldn't continue Sep 01 14:29:52 I just added 3.82 to that list and continued (without errors) Sep 01 14:30:14 my version of gnu make is 3.82 Sep 01 14:30:39 I am planning to post the patch to the ML Sep 01 20:42:28 please tell me, what should be done, to migrate to newer release of oe? (before, i used 2010.03 release, but now switched to head of master branch) Sep 01 20:43:02 hm? Sep 01 20:43:18 you need to decide to use oe-classic or oe-core Sep 01 20:43:27 hm? Sep 01 20:44:37 oe-core and meta layers Sep 01 20:44:41 if this git://git.openembedded.org/openembedded oe-core of oe-classic? Sep 01 20:44:49 is where all the new development goes Sep 01 20:44:57 thats oe classic Sep 01 20:45:45 where should i look for latest stable release? Sep 01 20:46:27 than maybee oe-classic 2011.03 maintaince branch Sep 01 20:48:22 thanks, then will use it)) Sep 01 20:48:44 and where is oe-core? Sep 01 20:49:39 http://cgit.openembedded.org/cgit.cgi/openembedded-core/ Sep 01 20:50:40 you could use http://git.angstrom-distribution.org/cgi-bin/cgit.cgi/setup-scripts/ Sep 01 20:50:54 and the oe-core branch for an easy setup Sep 01 20:50:57 mike111: you may find this useful: http://www.openembedded.org/index.php/OpenEmbedded-Core Sep 01 20:54:54 thanks both of you, now got something to look at)) Sep 01 21:07:29 sorry to bother you again but is there an instruction on how to use external toolchain (for ex. from codesourcery) in openembedded? because this procedure doesnt seem quite obvious to me, and build toolchain again and again is now quite convenient Sep 01 21:16:30 Why is it rebuilding the toolchain? It doesn't rebuild for me unless I remove the build directory and start over Sep 01 21:18:21 sometimes i remove build directory, because i do some "funny" changes to oe and it gives me strange error messages Sep 01 21:22:07 mike111: you'd need to be a bit more specific if you wanted some advice in that regard... ;) Sep 01 21:24:37 nevermind)) seems like i've found what i was looking for http://permalink.gmane.org/gmane.comp.handhelds.openembedded/32273 Sep 01 22:23:27 got problem. when trying to use external toolchain. OE try to find arm-angstrom-linux-gnueabi, but i have only arm-none-linux-gnueabi. To solve this, i try to override TARGET_PREFIX variable, but no luck. Can i somehow force OE to operate with "arm-none" instead of "arm-angstrom"? **** ENDING LOGGING AT Fri Sep 02 02:59:57 2011
