**** BEGIN LOGGING AT Thu Oct 02 03:00:00 2014 Oct 02 08:39:57 morning all Oct 02 08:40:34 morning Oct 02 09:11:14 I'm trying to increase the amount of available storage on my rootfs, so I override IMAGE_ROOTFS_EXTRA_SPACE with a few more megabytes. If I understand the manual correctly, this should add extra space regardless of IMAGE_ROOTFS_SIZE. However, when I rebuild my image and flash it, there added space doesn't seem to get included? Oct 02 11:00:21 howdy! during combined development of recipe and its workload, is there a convenient/recommended way for the fetcher to always just get/copy a local working directory? Oct 02 11:03:51 LetoThe2nd: externalsrc class? Oct 02 11:04:06 i am not sure i understood what you asked, though.. Oct 02 11:06:02 ndec: hrhr. sounds good, thanks! but what part was especially unclear (to improve next time) Oct 02 11:07:02 LetoThe2nd: hmm. it was a long sentence ;-) reading it back i think it's clear.. Oct 02 11:07:30 basically externalsrc lets you skip fetch, unpack and patch tasks. so it directly builds from a local folder. Oct 02 11:08:25 ndec: yeah already found the docs. its jsut hard to look up somethign when you don't have the right buzzword Oct 02 11:08:42 yep.. Oct 02 11:17:10 ndec: BTW, are you there in 1.5 weeks too? Oct 02 11:17:21 yes! Oct 02 11:17:33 are we finally going to meet? Oct 02 11:17:45 looks like that Oct 02 11:18:03 cool! i will be there all week, arriving on Sun night. Oct 02 11:18:20 same here Oct 02 11:19:00 like, arrival at hotel at sun 20:00ish, staying until fr-breakfast Oct 02 11:19:43 i don't remember exactly, but I think i will be at airport at 10PM... Oct 02 11:19:47 on sunday Oct 02 11:20:03 where are you staying? Oct 02 11:20:34 Radisson Blu Oct 02 11:20:38 looks like the beagle/troll crowd is mostly at the radisson (including myself+coworker) Oct 02 11:20:49 ah nice Oct 02 14:39:45 how do I build the build-appliance-image recipe? what MACHINE should I specify? I tried using the qemux86 (although I don't really plan on running it through qemu?!), and then it complained nothing provides the runtime dependency libgl. There seem to be no recipe for this in oe-core either? Oct 02 14:39:58 which makes me think I need additional meta-layers Oct 02 15:46:25 mago_: we don't build it with additional layers on the autobuilder... Oct 02 15:47:05 and how do you build it on the autobuilder? Oct 02 15:47:26 just double checking now Oct 02 15:47:55 oddly, qemux86-64 Oct 02 15:48:13 I would have thought genericx86-64 would have been a better choice myself Oct 02 15:48:28 there's a genericx86-64 machine? Oct 02 15:48:43 yes Oct 02 15:48:56 it's provided by meta-yocto-bsp Oct 02 15:49:41 i'm retrying my build with qemux86-64 to see if it solves my libgl issue Oct 02 15:49:43 perhaps the thinking is it's intended for use within a vm host and therefore qemux86-64 is closest to that Oct 02 15:51:24 same libgl issue with qemux86-64. weird Oct 02 15:53:23 what does it report that depends on libgl? Oct 02 15:53:43 ERROR: Nothing RPROVIDES 'libgl' (but /mnt/dev/mago/slp/slp-build/../meta-oe-core/meta/recipes-core/packagegroups/packagegroup-self-hosted.bb RDEPENDS on or otherwise requires it) Oct 02 15:53:56 not sure what this packagegroup-self-hosted is Oct 02 16:01:14 packagegroup-self-hosted is what brings in all of the packages required to run the build system Oct 02 16:01:41 I guess libgl is on the list because qemu needs to link to it Oct 02 16:05:22 so it's a host requirement? not provided by OE recipes? Oct 02 16:06:50 d Oct 02 16:14:44 mago_: no, this is for running images you built within the build appliance environment, which means qemu is running in there Oct 02 16:16:24 ndec, LetoThe2nd I am at the Radisonn also Oct 02 16:27:36 * fray notes he's at the Hilton at ELC-E.. the other was sold out.. :( Oct 02 16:27:56 They're really close together. Oct 02 16:28:06 thats what it sounded like.. Oct 02 16:28:20 I get in in the middle of the day Monday.. Oct 02 16:28:42 fly out at noon on Saturday Oct 02 16:30:50 Arrive sun am, out on Friday AM Oct 02 16:30:51 I think Oct 02 16:32:01 :) I've had to redo my flight a couple of times.. (I have a business meeting right after ELC-E that kept changing and now I'm connecting from DUS -> PEK directly.. Oct 02 16:32:14 kind of neat, I get to go all the way around 'east' Oct 02 16:32:29 MSP -> ORD -> DUS -> PEK -> SFO -> MSP Oct 02 16:32:50 * fray runs to grab some food before his marathon 5-hour meeting **** ENDING LOGGING AT Fri Oct 03 03:00:00 2014
