**** BEGIN LOGGING AT Tue Dec 12 03:00:01 2017 Dec 12 11:29:09 Hello. I was wondering if anyone knows of a working setup of Icecream distributed build with Yocto. Dec 12 11:29:20 I tried to follow the wiki here: https://www.openembedded.org/wiki/Using_IceCC Dec 12 11:29:47 with no much luck. Dec 12 13:21:09 rfried: hi, we were trying to use icecream with openembeddded Dec 12 13:21:42 rfried: the guide is a bit older. And moreover, you need a few patches in OE itself to get it running Dec 12 13:22:11 @tom_nov: that's interesting. would love to hear more. Dec 12 13:22:12 if you are interested, I can share my patches somewhere. But it is WIP... Dec 12 13:22:22 I'd love to see it. Dec 12 13:22:48 rfried: give me a minute. I will try to find the branch. I did it in Q1/2017... Dec 12 13:23:34 rfried: BTW, we had CentOS server and Arch+openSUSE desktopts - and it worked. Dec 12 13:23:37 :) Dec 12 13:29:47 rfried: ok, so I found it. The changes needed: 1) 'icecc-create-env' in OE is a bit old. It misses /bin/true, so the generated toolchains are rejected by icecream. 2) The warnings emitted during compile forces local rebuild (it hurts performance a lot). 3) I had to change rpaths in toolchain binaries (don't know why exactly). Dec 12 13:30:31 I have very dirty patches in my local branch. Do you want them? Are you interested in upstreaming it? Dec 12 13:32:06 don't know regarding upstreaming. let's start by testing if it works for me.. Dec 12 13:33:32 rfried: ok. Sharing via e-mail is ok for you? PM for e-mail? Dec 12 13:34:10 yes Dec 12 16:24:33 waf may die in a fire .... Dec 12 17:48:08 Crofton|work: oh yeah! Dec 12 18:00:56 otavio, I ran across the libdir on fedora thing also Dec 12 18:33:50 Crofton|work: I am not a big fan of waf Dec 12 18:50:06 Sign up if you will be at FOSDEM, https://www.openembedded.org/wiki/FOSDEM_2018 **** ENDING LOGGING AT Wed Dec 13 03:00:01 2017
