**** BEGIN LOGGING AT Mon Jun 11 03:00:03 2018 Jun 11 07:10:27 Hi All, I have tried using pybootchart to identify the bottlenecks. But the profile.log information and the charts specify the information about how much time each tasks/function takes. But how do I understand what the process/build was doing when there is a significant time pause between two tasks? Like sometimes the build says "No tasks currentlt running"" Jun 11 07:10:37 Can anyone give me any idea about this? Jun 11 17:56:08 khem, how long should I wait for a stable branch merge in meta-oe ? Jun 11 23:04:22 armpit: I have been spending some time fixing jenkins which seems to be ok now and eventually I would like to add builds for maintained release branches as well. Especially for sumo Jun 11 23:04:55 armpit: For now, I think we can merge them as needed Jun 11 23:05:21 armpit: I was hoping to do a local builds here but alas we all have 24 hrs Jun 11 23:05:25 in a day Jun 11 23:06:40 if we move the builds to pluto, would that help ? Jun 11 23:08:05 khem, if you are expecting to do world builds on all stable branches, that will be challenging for OE resourses as we only have two builders that tak 2-3 days Jun 11 23:10:51 so it sounds like you need to come up with a schedule for stable so I can try to sync better with build resourses Jun 11 23:12:14 i am hoping morty and pyro will go to community support which leaves sumo and rocko to worry about. its a bit mental have 4 stable branches active Jun 11 23:12:59 armpit: I have switched to preserving sstate so rebuilds are a bit quicker Jun 11 23:13:14 approx 2 hrs per arch Jun 11 23:15:23 cool Jun 11 23:15:45 check the latest builds its using the same pipeline Jun 11 23:15:58 I have swept the distro underneath completely Jun 11 23:16:33 I think we should also make it more parameterized so we can use same jobs for release builds as well Jun 11 23:16:50 slowly I will try to improvise on jenkins scripts as time permits Jun 11 23:16:59 I Will merge the stable pulls tonight Jun 11 23:17:10 they are all in -next branches Jun 11 23:17:21 let me know if there is anything missing or if we are good to go Jun 11 23:17:44 k Jun 11 23:19:45 yes, -next.. they got such when i was the top layer maintainer and stables branch maintainer and I wanted to keep transparency and i just went 'aaaaaaahhhhh' Jun 11 23:20:27 khem: sstate was always preserved with those builds on jenkins.nas-admin Jun 11 23:21:01 khem: the problem was that oe-core changes too often invalidates them all Jun 11 23:21:44 which is my "at the mercy of core' statement Jun 11 23:21:58 and the underneath distro was "nodistro" Jun 11 23:22:24 only the update scripts were used from SHR, not the DISTRO or any configuration Jun 11 23:23:14 once you're done, don't forget to update http://www.openembedded.org/wiki/Bitbake_World_Status_Setup as well :) Jun 11 23:23:26 next khem will tell us he is using a RPI cluster ; ) Jun 11 23:24:40 I think the last report would look a bit worse if he does use RPI cluster :) **** ENDING LOGGING AT Tue Jun 12 03:00:04 2018
