**** BEGIN LOGGING AT Fri Sep 25 02:59:57 2020 Sep 25 07:39:25 interesting observation: between thud and zeus, all of the changes to gstreamer work on all versions. so, thud & warrior & zeus could use the exact same gstreamer recipes, in theory. Sep 25 07:40:01 but post-zeus, the breaking change is the transition to meson, since gstreamer requires a minimum meson version that is too old in earlier yocto releases. Sep 25 07:40:28 so if anybody is interested in gst 1.16.2 on thud/warrior, I'm experimenting with updating meta-gstreamer1.0 accordingly. Sep 25 16:10:48 cool Sep 25 16:33:32 in this case, what would be preferable? 3 branches thud/warrior/zeus pointing to the same git HEAD, and the commit in this had sets LAYERSERIES_COMPAT_gstreamer1.0 to "thud warrior zeus"? Sep 25 16:33:49 or 3 individual commits, each setting LAYERSERIES_COMPAT_gstreamer1.0 to the respective branch name? Sep 25 16:41:26 if it hasn't yet diverged, i'd usually do the former, and move to the latter once they do **** ENDING LOGGING AT Sat Sep 26 02:59:57 2020
