**** BEGIN LOGGING AT Mon Feb 20 03:00:00 2012 Feb 21 00:34:09 Hello! Jason Hecker (JWhecker) suggested that I ask my JTAG question here. so here goes! we would like to JTAG a device based on the LEXRA 4189. It supports only EJTAG 2.0, for which the specifications are not published. As such, we can find no open source JTAG programming tools. Does anyone have suggestions, please? Feb 21 00:44:18 i think Hairydairymaid tool is supposed to support that Feb 21 00:46:37 Hi roxfan. I think they tried the hairydairymade, but to no avail :-( Feb 21 00:46:46 *maid, even.. I will just go and check.. Feb 21 00:47:36 well it might need some adjustment to support your specific chip/board Feb 21 00:49:01 hi.. no they couldn't get hairydairymaid to work... The JTAG register set of the Lexra 4189 is completely different to the set usually found in a EJTAG-compliant device. It has only one 32-bit register (for IDCODE). The other registers are either 1-bit or 150+ bits. We guess these large registers must be concatenations of smaller regis Feb 21 00:55:30 ters. Nothing is documented though. The Lexra datasheet is 'pants'. Feb 21 00:56:27 incidentally, wookey_ ... have you done a lot of work on flash file systems? Feb 21 01:02:08 anyway. bed beckons.. if anyone reads this in the morning and knows of working JTAG s/w (proprietary or open-source) for the Lexra 4189, then please drop me a line :-) ballymunboy@gmail.com Feb 21 01:02:24 thank you. good night Feb 21 01:40:56 the large register is most likelt the boundary scan **** ENDING LOGGING AT Tue Feb 21 02:59:58 2012
