**** BEGIN LOGGING AT Sun Sep 27 02:59:56 2009 Sep 27 06:06:02 hello openmoko people Sep 27 06:07:09 so, I bought a freerunner and received it earlier today. I have a 'why would you wanna do that" kind of question. mind if I bother someone? :-) Sep 27 06:08:20 ask away Sep 27 06:10:46 so I'm on an epic adventure to flash nand wish the SHR distro. my only 'puter unfortunately has unusable usb ports at the moment. I managed to install SHR onto an SD card via openmoko itself. the only docs I've found on flashing tell me to use dfu-utils, but i was wondering if writing the kernel/image to the appropriate partitions while running off of the SD card would be sufficient. Sep 27 06:12:28 root_demon: dfu-util just talks to u-boot that writes the data to nand Sep 27 06:12:53 root_demon: you can use flash_eraseall && nandwrite to do the same Sep 27 06:13:38 oh. did I misread the wiki? Sep 27 06:13:49 awesome. I'll go back to wiki digging. thanks. :-) Sep 27 08:46:29 hi Sep 27 09:46:07 Hm... Where in the world would the WiFi settings be on Qt Extended? Sep 27 09:49:05 Finally found it... Sep 27 10:14:47 ok, let's provoke another grand mal by 'long' phonecall Sep 27 10:17:02 Mal? Sep 27 10:18:20 ~botsnack Sep 27 10:18:20 thanks, DocMobilizer Sep 27 10:19:38 tzz, well... mickey told sth about a 1/3 statitical chance Sep 27 10:21:49 azaghal: grand mal (French., med.): contrary of "petit mal", sth like a massive stroke Sep 27 10:22:15 Hm... mal means bad. As in "Ca va mal". Sep 27 10:22:19 I guess it's a phrase :) Sep 27 10:22:41 Whom are you trying to get a stroke? Balmer? ;) Sep 27 10:24:58 azaghal: FR tends to freeze (framework) on GPRS special conditions like timeout, disconnect... Sep 27 10:25:15 Hm... Just the framework, not the kernel? Sep 27 10:26:22 yep Sep 27 10:27:01 pppd to be precise, or frameworkd on pppd termination Sep 27 10:30:18 i use watchdog that restarts ogsmd Sep 27 10:31:14 lindi-: for me it seems killall -9 frameworkd is also needed Sep 27 10:31:34 so a full reboot is somewhat easier :-/ Sep 27 10:32:08 joawell i do not run anything else from frameworkd than ogsmd Sep 27 10:32:43 joerg_42: reboot is not an option :) Sep 27 10:33:06 freeze is not an option ;-P Sep 27 10:33:29 nothing freezes here Sep 27 10:33:48 gsm stuff just takes a minute to restart Sep 27 10:34:13 hmm, strange. I see it 80% of all GPRS disconnects Sep 27 10:34:13 and generates a nice log entry about the incident Sep 27 10:34:33 different version probably Sep 27 10:34:55 let's force it then Sep 27 10:36:07 typical :-/ no issue on disconnect Sep 27 10:44:06 Now to figure out how to add an application to Qt Extended menus... Sep 27 10:44:30 hmm, even the wget went thru without major issues Sep 27 10:46:01 PaulFertser: maybe a diff for niebiee.edj vs *.orig? Sep 27 10:46:58 PaulFertser: with at least 5 lines +/- context ;-) Sep 27 14:27:51 SHR unstable seems like it hasn't seen any updates for a week, anyone know whats up? also fso is broken in the latest update: http://pastebin.ca/1581429 Sep 27 14:30:43 pabs3: moving to xorg Sep 27 14:31:11 hm? Sep 27 14:34:44 < hoping for some improvements! Sep 27 14:58:07 apparently Sep 27 14:59:09 iam from germany and if got no problems Sep 27 16:33:29 somet something australia? Sep 27 16:33:40 ah scrolled way to far up Sep 27 16:35:13 anyone know of someone in the New York area that can do a buzz fix? Sep 27 16:39:59 MadTBone: try the mailinglist? Sep 27 16:40:18 will do Sep 27 17:08:50 freesmartphone.org: 03g.anciaux 07dos/opimd-tracking * ra24cdd8dd6e9 10framework/framework/subsystems/opimd/pimb_vcard_contacts.py: Sep 27 17:08:50 freesmartphone.org: opimd: VCard-Contacts: fix storing vcard entries Sep 27 17:08:50 freesmartphone.org: Signed-off-by: Sebastian Krzyszkowiak Sep 27 20:08:52 DocScrutinizer: of course i can provide a diff. Just that it's not useful enough. The method i used is too crude ;) Sep 27 20:18:12 anyone used asterisk with your freerunner? Sep 27 20:59:26 PaulFertser: so I need to install niebiee to get that kbd :-/ Sep 27 21:00:14 PaulFertser: well, forget it.
