**** BEGIN LOGGING AT Thu Jul 16 02:59:57 2009 Jul 16 09:28:30 Hi Jul 16 10:20:38 where are the previous logs for the chats on this channel Jul 16 10:20:56 I am trying to setup a webserver on my plugcomputer, and wanted to read up on the logs for help Jul 16 10:35:37 mail4asim: you can start with the forums. there is endless info over there. the irc tends to be more for experienced users Jul 16 10:35:40 http://plugcomputer.org/plugforum/index.php Jul 16 11:07:52 rabeeh: thanks for the suggestion Jul 16 11:08:43 I wanted to read the logs to see if there has been much discussion about apache and lighttpd Jul 16 11:08:56 can't seem to find much info on either one of them in the forums.. Jul 16 11:09:53 mail4asim: why would there be any discussion about apache or lighttpd on sheevaplug forums? Jul 16 11:10:09 mail4asim: they work just as well on sheevaplug as on any linux system Jul 16 11:10:30 suihkulokki: just in case if one is better than the other for sheevaplug Jul 16 11:10:49 besides I didn't see any real instructions on either one of them on the forums Jul 16 11:11:00 the links provided don't work Jul 16 11:36:00 nevermind, found instructions for lighttpd Jul 16 17:23:48 :P Jul 16 19:29:48 hello~ Jul 16 19:34:00 <__dieter__> Shard: hello - sorry but was to busy today :( Jul 16 19:34:22 <__dieter__> Shard: will try to messure tomorrow. But the power supply is labeled with 36W... Jul 16 19:35:36 I see Jul 16 19:35:53 well but labled doesn't mean it consumes that much Jul 16 19:36:14 <__dieter__> No - it can provide 36W maximum power! Jul 16 19:36:52 <__dieter__> I'm pretty sure that the openrd board doesn't consume more power than the sheevaplug which is at about 4-5W Jul 16 19:37:01 yes. usually they're labled something like "12V/3A max" or something P=I*U -> 12*3=36W Jul 16 19:39:32 still, I'll wait for your measure result and I guess I'll order it then Jul 16 19:40:00 btw Jul 16 19:41:02 did you order it at globalscale technologies? Jul 16 19:46:57 <__dieter__> yes I did. Jul 16 19:48:12 did you pay any additional fees except shipping? Jul 16 20:05:11 <__dieter__> Is Prafulla also sometimes here at #openplug? Jul 16 23:06:12 __dieter__ Shard: I just measured my Sheeva...It idled around 3 watts, peaked at 4 watts. Of course, at this level things like USB devices influence usage. My test was performed plugged into a gigabit switch and NO usb or SD card installed. Jul 16 23:15:43 kusznir: running the ethernet port at gigabit speed will also user more power Jul 16 23:15:46 s/user/use/ Jul 17 02:54:05 dieter_: the power figures for the openRD are in one of the docs on the CD Jul 17 02:54:28 at least it is for the OpenRD Client **** ENDING LOGGING AT Fri Jul 17 02:59:56 2009
