**** BEGIN LOGGING AT Fri Apr 08 02:59:58 2011 Apr 08 16:22:11 Hi all: We're trying to recover 50 guruplugs to "origional factory state" as far as flash goes. We've reflashed uboot to a newer version that supports loading from SD, and when we try and switch back to the NAND boot, it fails to boot. When we download the uboot from openplug, what claims to be the origional, it still doesn't boot. It turns out that we have to reflash the uboot, kernel, and filesystem to get a restored system. And these ' Apr 08 16:22:11 factory origional' images are actually different and newer than what our plugs shipped with. Apr 08 16:22:56 So, we're trying to 1) make sure we have the correct images; and 2) look for an efficient, automated way to reflash all 50 of these plugs to that image. The current procedure involves using tftp and the boot loader, and a buch of hand-typed commands. Is there a faster/easier/better way to do it? Apr 08 16:23:01 are we missing something? Apr 08 16:23:29 (In case you're wondering why, its because we're returning these 50 guru's, and NewIT, which is accepting them back, requires the flash to be in "factory original state") Apr 08 16:24:09 Can anyone help provide info as to which image(s) we should be using, and perhaps the most efficient "bulk" methodology to carry this out? Apr 08 16:24:27 (TooToo222: looks like we do need the help after all!) Apr 08 17:53:39 hi Apr 08 17:53:58 my sheevaplug died Apr 08 17:54:24 its power supply had aparently two (or more?) bad capacitors which burst and leaked fluid Apr 08 17:54:31 i hear that is rather common.
