**** BEGIN LOGGING AT Mon Sep 12 02:59:57 2011 Sep 12 16:34:10 Hello! Someone tried to change uboot environement from userspace ? sheeva-tools can print my env variables but when I try to modify them there are CRC errors at the next boot of uboot. Any ideas ? Sep 12 16:44:24 no idea what sheeva-tools is but there is a userland utility to modify u-boot env Sep 12 16:45:00 prog is probably called fw_setenv Sep 12 16:45:08 (been a while since I used it) Sep 12 16:45:54 eFfeM: yeah but the sheeva uses a weird CRC Sep 12 16:47:01 but it doesn't work :( Sep 12 16:47:58 I tried to use copy/paste method, nandump ... then nandwrite but it even doesn't change anything Sep 12 16:49:15 u-boot itself uses a crc, fw_setenv is aware of it and takes it into account Sep 12 16:49:34 copy/paste or editing the flash won't work, you need to recalc the crc Sep 12 16:49:47 and fw_printenv needs to have a proper fw_env.cfg file Sep 12 16:50:15 eFfeM: do you have a good one for the sheeva? :o Sep 12 16:50:22 I don't recall sheeva uboot being different from others but I probably didn't use std u-boot to begin with Sep 12 16:50:23 i never got fw_getenv to work Sep 12 16:50:44 kerio: you need the good info on fw_env.cfg Sep 12 16:50:50 don't have my stuff handy though Sep 12 16:59:50 if i recall correctly you need to specify both the flash erase size and the env size properly in the config file Sep 12 17:03:10 eFfeM: yes, plus address of start of uboot environnement area Sep 12 17:03:48 i think i had that as a separate partition and that I used the partition name Sep 12 17:17:08 pff, it just needed an Enter at the end of file Sep 12 17:30:44 you just need sheeva-uboot-tools Sep 12 17:38:33 vadmeste: ah, yes that is probably important **** ENDING LOGGING AT Tue Sep 13 01:52:38 2011 **** BEGIN LOGGING AT Tue Sep 13 19:40:14 2011 **** ENDING LOGGING AT Wed Sep 14 02:59:57 2011
