**** BEGIN LOGGING AT Thu Jun 02 23:59:57 2005 Jun 03 05:10:33 so the question is: is there an easy way to flash a slug from openslug to unslung without going into redboot ... Jun 03 05:14:35 I guess I could corrupt the last block and force it into upgrade mode, then use sercomm Jun 03 05:48:53 jbowler-zzz: we need some way for any ipkg upgrade modifications to stuff in /boot, and the linuxrc to be also transferred to the jffs2 ... Jun 03 10:23:06 rwhitby-web: I don't see why, if nothing else in the jffs2 partition has been updated the /boot stuff should still work too. Jun 03 10:23:23 (That's with the known exception of the kernel modules) Jun 03 10:26:24 Notice that 'turnup' writes /linuxrc and it executes from the selected rootfs. If features are added to turnup it can upgrade the jffs2 as needed. 'update-kernel' does the same thing but for the kernel modules (and possibly programs). Jun 03 10:29:01 In the limit either script can run ipkg with a 'destination' argument to add/remove/upgrade packages, but it's tricky because the postinst scripts frequently turn off initialisation until ipkg-cl is run (I think that's how it works.) Jun 03 10:30:23 rwhitby-away: I think I should write a wiki page about this ;-) **** ENDING LOGGING AT Fri Jun 03 23:59:56 2005
