**** BEGIN LOGGING AT Wed Feb 28 03:00:01 2007 Feb 28 18:23:22 hi Feb 28 18:24:20 anybody have any hints about where to look for the actual mechanics of the ./recovery file Feb 28 21:31:27 hello! I'm reading up the APEX bootloader on the NSLU2-Linux.org wiki. I'm wondering, is it possible to use the pre-built nslu2-binaries found at ftp://ftp.buici.com/pub/apex/apex-1.4.17/, or is really necessary to build it using my own crosscompiler? Feb 28 22:23:13 Hi Feb 28 22:23:44 can somebody help me with a monotone problem? Feb 28 22:53:25 saladino, whats happening? Feb 28 22:53:55 Blastur: depends how you want to use it. Feb 28 22:54:12 Blastur: you can also build it using our kernel svn repo makefile Feb 28 22:54:25 i like this cross-channel chatting Feb 28 22:54:25 =) Feb 28 22:54:36 http://svn.nslu2-linux.org/svnroot/kernel/trunk/Makefile Feb 28 22:54:47 Somebody has to keep this channel warm... Feb 28 22:55:53 hey, can I ask.. when did people start using APEX as a "secondary bootloader"? because, if redboot cant handle >1 MB kernels, how can it handle any kernel? isn't the official kernel larger than 1 mb? Feb 28 22:56:11 not the nslu2-linux ones, just the debian one. Feb 28 22:56:30 hmm, maybe i mixup kernel with firmware.. i guess a firmware contains more than a kernel, but also the "basic" filesystem aswell? Feb 28 22:56:32 Nope. Great care and sometimes a certain amount of pain has gone into making sure the SlugOS kernels are all <1mb Feb 28 22:58:55 Yes, the firmware contains the kernel as well as the filesystem(s). Also contains housekeeping info. And the redboot loader (SlugOS images are complete, including a copy of redboot -- so while no reflashing tools that this project provides will overwrite redboot, the image will be safe if some other tool does do such a horrible thing.) Feb 28 23:00:10 ah, i see Feb 28 23:21:26 Blastur i solved my monotone problems Feb 28 23:21:39 i wasn't able to sync a branch Feb 28 23:21:41 fixed now Feb 28 23:21:43 :) Mar 01 00:37:49 Hi chacko Mar 01 00:38:25 Hi Mar 01 00:40:02 mwester, Hello Mar 01 00:40:47 Greetings. Wondering how the optware for slugos is working? Mar 01 00:45:56 mwester, all the modules I have tried are working fine. I have moved my 'production' one to slugos/be from unSlung Mar 01 00:54:01 mwester, the list of optware pkg I am using -- aka passed my testing -- is at http://rafb.net/p/HD2GRe21.html Mar 01 00:55:45 I am away... **** ENDING LOGGING AT Thu Mar 01 02:59:57 2007
