**** BEGIN LOGGING AT Fri Mar 06 03:00:04 2020 Mar 06 08:21:52 zorun: I think I recently pushed an update to the script Mar 06 08:29:14 jow: the luci attendedsysupgrade should now work again Mar 06 08:29:30 please let me know if there are any issues with thebackend Mar 06 08:41:10 ok Mar 06 08:44:32 ynezz: I'll try again, hi! Mar 06 09:42:57 * ldir prepares macbot for dnsmasq v2.81rc2 Mar 06 10:18:58 sounds like a skynet product Mar 06 10:35:03 he he - well I've just built dnsmasq on macos and that's turned up a few warnings...which I've just fixed...and sent upstream. Mar 06 10:36:43 one is a genuine freshly introduced logic error. Mar 06 10:37:41 the logic error is introduced by fixing another logic error Mar 06 10:39:17 so, dilemma-land. Do I bump to rc2 plus my 'sent but not yet in upstream' patches or do I leave it at rc1 with the other known logic error Mar 06 10:40:41 there will have to be an rc3 :-) Mar 06 11:00:09 jow: I see no update since 2018, but it's not a big deal Mar 06 11:00:13 I have just sent the announcements Mar 06 11:12:10 zorun: thanks for taking care Mar 06 11:12:15 aparcar[m]: whatsup? Mar 06 11:28:02 zorun: my bad, I pushed to https://github.com/KanjiMonster/maintainer-tools Mar 06 11:29:11 zorun: pushed it to git.o.o now Mar 06 17:27:12 jow: thanks! Mar 06 17:47:00 jow: shall I remove the repo so you get an error the next time? Mar 06 17:55:42 KanjiMonster: given that its on git.o.o now it might make sense. I fixed my remote in the meanwhile though Mar 06 18:47:36 ynezz: can you help me reworking the x86 code? Mar 06 19:25:34 tmn505: ping Mar 06 19:25:50 I just read your comment on GH, what stopped you from getting this upstream? Mar 06 19:36:35 aparcar[m]: this was mostly, because I wasn't very familiar with OpenWrt buildroot and previously I worked with target which were already converted to new image code. I just wanted to implement grub upgrade with sysupgrade and did this with https://patchwork.ozlabs.org/cover/1222958. Mar 06 19:38:25 how complicated is it to use the new image code? that all what's needed for my use case... Mar 06 19:46:20 not very much, You mostly did it with Your PR, You'll just need to test all the image combinations if they produce all previously avalable images and adjust it if there's image missing. Mar 06 20:19:44 tmn505: okay thank you, I'll look into it. Would be nice if x86 would also create JSON info files Mar 06 20:40:17 tmn505: I rebased the patch and images working. however grub stucks at [ 2.177866] clocksource: Switched to clocksource tsc Mar 06 20:40:19 any idea? Mar 06 20:55:39 aparcar[m]: do you see anything like 'waiting for rootfs' ? Mar 06 20:56:15 ldir: Heureka? [ 1.488489] Waiting for root device PARTUUID=fc80ef2a-02... Mar 06 20:57:22 ldir: what do :)? Mar 06 20:58:04 this is a wild stab in the dark.. but when someone broke image building on macos I had a system that would basically hang... it turns out waiting for the rootfs to get mounted... which never occurred because the image had written the rootfs with an incorrect partition UUID Mar 06 20:59:20 So I'd check that the grub config that gets created has the correct part'n UUID *and* the same UUID is written as the rootfs image. Mar 06 21:04:44 aparcar[m]: see dfd8c45a98f82c69cad7a622016aa70210b025c5 for the thing that bit me. Mar 06 21:05:44 sweet I'll check that! Mar 06 21:06:55 That was the day when my APU2 wouldn't boot all the way, and I learned that the kernel waits for the rootfs to appear.... giving all the symptoms of a hung system but actually it isn't... it's just waiting. Mar 06 21:08:42 ynezz: tmn505 in case your as excited as me about new x86 image code check in here https://github.com/openwrt/openwrt/pull/2772 Mar 06 21:13:04 ha ha! The person who broke it in 98d1c7d83485ed2b024bf8ab5f8ff7e2a66ab85e was.... you! :-) Mar 06 21:14:20 well with best intentions Mar 06 21:16:34 lol yeah - a 90 second 'reboot' internet outage turned into something like a 2 hour with mrs ldir breathing down my neck :-) But I *did* learn a bit about kernels booting and then looking for rootfs... so not all bad. Mar 06 21:17:19 the so called "snapshots in production" situation Mar 06 21:18:02 someone has to test it ;-) Mar 06 21:22:26 hah ldir I owe you Mar 06 21:22:35 https://github.com/openwrt/openwrt/pull/2772/files#diff-0356b1d632c57a7e4862860e6457beb4R50 Mar 06 21:22:39 found the trouble Mar 06 21:26:49 excellent! That's some sort of reciprocal karma going on right there. he he Mar 06 21:27:58 :) Mar 06 21:31:50 * ldir bids goodnight Mar 06 21:32:21 sleep well and seriously thanks!
