**** BEGIN LOGGING AT Sun Nov 08 02:59:56 2009 Nov 08 16:50:23 Actually, I'm looking into recent rootstock script. For 'karmic' it uses vmlinuz-2.6.31-rc3versatile1-cortex-a8 and -cpu cortex-a8. Is this only the configuration options for QEMU, or are the is the resulting rootfs compiled for A8, too? Or the other way around: Will a karmic rootfs created with rootstock run on ARM11, too? Nov 08 16:57:43 ARM11 is ARMv6. Karmic is built for v6 + VFP, so as long as your specific ARM11 has VFP you should be good Nov 08 17:05:26 ojn: so karmic won't work on the maxwell sheevaplug? that's an ARMv5 Nov 08 17:12:08 kblin: Correct, as far as I know. Nov 08 17:12:59 oh well, mine is currently having fu being shipped around the world, I'll start worring as soon as it gets back here :) Nov 08 17:13:57 s/maxwell/marvell Nov 08 17:14:10 fun, as well Nov 08 17:14:42 er, right Nov 08 17:22:26 ojn: Thanks! Will try it then :) Nov 08 17:31:55 * kblin is feeling brave and remote-updates his home server's kernel Nov 08 17:33:16 oh, crap, mkimage failed.. and of course I see that the minute after I hit reboot Nov 08 17:36:08 that was so bound to happen Nov 08 17:47:48 * kblin hugs the serial console :) **** ENDING LOGGING AT Mon Nov 09 02:59:56 2009
